  1. I've got 963 unique + 33 re-releases + 30 code in a box on my list for ESRB. So our total number is the same.
  2. The problem is lumping several categories of cart types under one list, when they (mostly) should be listed separately: - Unique Games - Re-Releases w/ Updated Cart (Streets of Rage, Star Wars Combo packs, Pokemon Shield + Expansion) - Re-Releases with exact same cart, but DLC included in case. (Ultimate Trine 4, Gear Club Porsche, Costco Mario Rabbids etc.) - Unique games release only as Code in a Box (Fortnite, Call of Juarez, Pure Pool, etc.) That's not counting variant covers, collector's editions, re-releases of a unique game cart as a code in a box (like Borderlands, The Escapists 2, MK11) re-releases of out of print/limited games (Gris, Hot Line Miami, Yonder: The Cloud Catcher, etc.) and, god forbid, preorders. lol
  3. You're still counting a lot of games that haven't released (preorders) yet.
  4. Vectrex -> SNES -> Arcade -> PS3 -> Switch
  5. I think the only people that would complain about something like Blasphemous getting a reprint from another company are the ones who missed the original sale and paid an exorbitant amount on eBay for a copy, and now look like a clown.
  6. Funny, in the 1990s I really wanted to be video game composer. I made a demo tape of songs and sent it out to a bunch of companies. The only company nice enough of to give me the time of day was Natsume, who gave me a call and explained "All of the develpment work was done in Japan" but sent me a few SNES games as encouragement. The games being Pocky & Rocky, Pocky & Rocky 2, and Run Saber (maybe Atlus shared offices). Still have both P&R's (tho I didn't save the boxes/manuals) - not sure what happened to Run Saber.
  7. Nice! thanks so much. Mystery solved. I actually have Race with Ryan Deluxe as a seperate release - does it use the same icon/save? (my deluxe is probably still sealed lol). Just tested it: Same Save... original 1.0.0 updates to 1.0.4 on Road Trip... moving to rereleases haha Also, if you don't mind @Mr. CIB , can you snap a quick pick of the spine for Mario + Rabbids Gold?
  8. This is my personal list that I keep track of - so yeah, I'm sure a few of those are borderline like that All you can Eat! and the SEGA double releases, but for me personally, it's not far from a variant if I can play the base game on another cart. I'm sure if I see them around for super cheap, I'll pick them up. On my Code in a Box list I have the Mario/Luigi Home Circuit releases listed, when in reality there's actually no code or download in the box, but they fit in with the whole "no cart" theme. AoT2: FB is just an updated cart. AoT: 1.0.0 AoT: FB 1.0.8 Both carts update to 1.0.14 and use the same icon/save file. M + R Gold edition is the same old cart with a Download code for the Season Pass in the case so it definitely qualifies - I did have that on my list at one point but I couldn't find a solid release date for it (as my list goes by date - there's a 11/17/17 release for Digital, but I don't think the Costco physical was released on the same date) so it looks like I completely left it off. I'm just gonna put it next to the original for now. Thanks!

  10. I count re-releases as something that, when you stick it in the Switch, it shares the same icon/save as a previous physical cart. So if the Switch doesn't differentiate the game, I won't either. Updated carts can happen anytime. Most people buying Yoshi's Crafted World or BotW now are not going to get the same cart/version as when the games were first released. The covers are identical. I'm not sure if the old NES rules, apply in that regard. You guys can track anyway you like. It's important to have a lot of eyes on this stuff.
  11. This is a EURO/PEGI cart with a VGNY cover like Finding Teddy, Gigantic Army, Guns of Mercy, etc - I don't count these as US releases and neither does Nintendo of America or the ESRB.
  12. Yeah, Pokémon +expansion, Grip Rollerblades, Overcooked 1 + 2, Sonic double games, etc - basically games already released for Switch, but an updated cart (some even have same cart as previous release but DL code for extra content)
  13. The actual released games according to my list right now is: 765 Unique 20 Re-releases 20 Code-in-a-box
  14. Re:Zero, Turrican Flashback, and Root Double were released today.
  15. I've played it for about an hour. It looks like it was animated by a 3-year-old and the voiceovers are (purposely?) cheesy, but the gameplay is solid. It's basically Contra with a Castlevania look/enviroment.
  16. Yeah, I agree with the above - this generation is a lot different than previous generations as the minimum order quantity is small, at least for Playstation 4 (1k) and Switch (5k). Xbox is still pretty high with 50k minimum. Also, I know a big part of collecting is the "thrill of the hunt" - believe me, I've done that with arcade games for 25+ years - being able to just buy a nice, new game and be done with it is far more fun than searching for it years later. Rather spend that time playing with my kids.
  17. The list is the mac version of excel (numbers), so no google doc. I can probably copy and paste them - does this site have PM? Most of those games came out last month - many of them didn't go on sale. Carrion - just started shipping Chicken Range - see below Chronos: Before the Ashes - no sale yet Fantasy Friends - no sale yet Instant Chef Party - no sale yet Kentucky Route Zero: TV Edition - not out yet My Universe: Cooking Star Restaurant - see below My Universe: Fashion Boutique - couldn't get bb chat to pricematch My Universe: School Teacher - see below Nintendo Labo: Toy Con 04 VR Kit (The BIG kit) - I have the small kit Persistence; The - no sale yet Professor Rubrik's Brain Fitness - no sale yet Ruiner - not out yet Sniper Elite 4 - no sale yet Tin and Kuna - see below Tropico 6: Nintendo Switch Edition - no sale yet Truck Driver - no sale yet What the Golf? - not out yet Who Wants to be a Millionaire? - see below
  18. When I had GCU, I would wait until a sale and use GCU (20% off) + whatever the sale discount. Then when my GCU was running out, I pretty much preordered everything they had listed to keep the 20% off going. Still have a few games left from that coming, but I generally wait for sales. For Licenses, Sports, and shovelware in general - I wait until they go under $20. Games I think that might be hard to get later, I tend to grab first when marginally discounted. The Nintendo games I buy on release because my kid loves them and they usually take a couple of years to go on sale beyond maybe $10 off. I tend to buy from Best Buy as they will price match, and the rewards (250 points is a $5 off coupon) stack up. The limited games are the only ones I pay full price for and I usually bundle them (the cost for shipping 4 standards from Limited Run is the same as buying 1 and you get upgraded to a box for free - the wait is just longer). I was caught up this summer, but they went crazy with releases over the last couple of months (I think 43 in November alone) so I'll be waiting for more stuff to jump under $20. The oldest release I'm missing is from September so I've got plenty of time. I'm behind 28 games at the moment - again, all recently released and easy to get. As for help, If I have the game, I'm happy to help with whatever you need. I maintain my own list which I update as the games release. I think the only important information is the 2 codes on the cart itself. Covers can be misleading as the code on the cover can change, but the exact same cart would be in the case (examples: Trine Ultimate vs. Trine 4, Attack on Titan 2 vs. Attack on Titan 2 Final Battle) - the 2nd code printed on the back of the cart that gets updated with reprints. For example, whenever Nintendo reprints one of their games they'll put the latest version on the new carts, so if you bought Breath of the Wild today, it will certainly be a newer version than what released at launch. I personally don't care about that kind of thing, but some people do. I also don't care or keep track of variants, CEs, Code-in-a-Box (no actual cart) and rereleases of the same game. I don't want 5 versions of Dead Cells or Gear.Club Unlimted if all that is different is a extra printed code in the case or an updated cart. Deku Deals is also a great resource for finding the lowest price at retail for Switch games and checking if a game is starting to get pulled from shelves. You can create a wanted list there and watch the prices go down. There is also a Switch Collectors group on Discord, that has tons of collectors (many with more games than me) - and they are all on the ball at up to the minute with new releases, variant and CE discussions, and cheap sales. I've attached a screenshot of my personal list.
  19. These metal shelves show up on craigslist occasionally - I think they are from the 70s or 80s. I did paint it (It was beige before). I have two more - one exactly the same and another that is a couple shelves shorter, but only 6" deep. I'll probably switch to that when when I fill up the smaller shelf. Just need to paint it. That's the thing about collecting for a system that is still releasing games - no idea what the final number will be lol
  20. I agree. The shovelware ratio is pretty low considering the amount of games, but I do wish some of the more demanding games (for example Outerworlds) would just stay on the PS4s/Xboxes etc. I think the Switch really shines with games like Enter the Gungeon and Dead Cells, along with the Nintendo releases. Carrion is another one I had a lot of fun with recently.
  21. I like a lot of the indie games (Gunlord X, The Messenger, Slay the Spire, Blasphemous, Blazing Chrome, etc.), shmups (Esp.Ra.De, Danmaku Unlimited, Darius), RPGS (Ys VIII, DragonQuest, etc.) and my 8yo loves all the Nintendo stuff (he's currently engrossed in Pikmin)
  22. I'm full-setting ESRB region for Switch. And I also pick up games in other regions that strike my fancy. I'm somewhere around 750.
