Hahaha, you have no idea what you're about to step in.

This is a new site, built on an old community.  Yes, it's considered to include Stadium Events.  People asked for a long time to get a "Complete NES Set - SE" over at NintendoAge, which is where most of us came from before we had to move out of there.

Anyway, if Gloves (or whomever) wants to trust people, *cough*, I guess you could fudge a little, *cough* by owning a PAL copy which is still expensive but not THAT expensive.

LOL ya I know...I was on NA as well 😛 was just trying to sneak that in there. Ehhh one day will nab an SE...kinda low on priority...been more focused on CIB set...Like 94 short of that right now

Definitely all the right parts.  One major hit is the lack of the sticker.  Most collectors I have found want the sticker, and while I agree it is 99% likely its a matte sticker, you really can't prove that (I agree with the "void" leftover comment).   I saw WATA grade one that just omitted the "Gloss Sticker" or "Matte Sticker" and just left it as a hangtab.

I agree with the above recommendation of $500 buy it now best offer, I'd expect $250-$300 and may be lower due to lack of sticker and appeal.

Also, those comps are all the same seller selling the same game and not shipping it.  trust me...I know from experience.

Ya I had noticed that there was 2 sold by same seller, at the same price. Which I found...odd...

Might just toss it up this weekend then at $500 BIN and see what offers roll in I guess. Always hate to sell something unless its a double ha ha which is why ideally I just traded for cash + good copy of hang tab one. But eh, if it sold for like $300 Im sure I could buy another (hang tab, dont care about sticker) for cheap enough to be worthwhile

  3. So I know stickers are all the rage, but dont really know specifics on different black box (which are worth more vs less) when it comes to the first print stuff. So checking price on my Kung fu, I think its CIB with no IMP. Not sure if it was matte or gloss (No NES-GP, No Code, No NES TM, No Rev-A, Round SOQ, and residue / small part of sticker still left)

Any idea on pricing? Honestly the ideal for me would be to trade for another later print (still hang tab) Kung Fu + Cash. Though I have no issues just selling it for straight cash and buying up a new one.

So any ideas on what I should look to get for it ?

  4. @Ted Playa Only ones I am aware of that have the red top from those are SMB 3 and Tetris (as I have both of those). The rest I do not think they have a red top cart but I cannot say for sure (I have not opened any of these sealed to confirm they did not come with a red top but I cant think of any time I have seen the cart with a red top)

I will try and remember to check my Dr mario tonight too...100% forgot ha ha.

Zelda 1 and Tetris 2 did too. Does anyone know if there is any significance to this design change? AFAIK, this has nothing to do with the classic series releases even though the red label looks similar.

If I had to guess its just because -CAN came later and nintendo decided to change over to have the red top on the designs. Kinda like how 3-screw gyromite is uncommon as -CAN but rare as -US

  6. Off the top of my head

    Final fantasy

    Super Mario bros 2

    Super Mario bros 3

    Tetris

    Adventures of Link

I am sure there is more but cant think of which ones without looking much further ha ha. I am guessing you're looking specifically for the -CAN versions with red top on the box. Some of these do not have matching carts that I am aware of

  7. Ha ha the top two were copies I sold for a quick buck. Paid $5 each for them. I literally could of had 5 copies in 1 day (I sold the first two to a dude in quebec for $60). Price tanked fast on those once the Canadians picked up on it.

@guitarzombieYep starting the list new for VGS

There was a hockey game that had no logo on the jersey I think I will count that as well

Wayne Gretzky Hockey (white jersey / no logo),  code on front should be -3. I have a copy of it at home if you need a photo

I need to dig out / get photos for all my stuff. Did we figure out a list of what "counted" for example, 3-screw US Volley ball ?

    3-screw
    donkey kong

    5-screw
    jaws

    other
    tecmo nba basketball n7
    5-screw silent service
    5-screw mission impossible

Nope, I’ve been using aseptic alcohol.

Interesting, I could try this on a cheap cart. How long do you let it sit?

I usually dont need to let it sit at all, just q-tip and small circles around and it starts to come off almost immediately. Obviously there ends up being some "spill over" since it doesnt dry up instantly so I tend to tilt it a bit just to be cautious

Awesome tip!  I'll have to try this should I run into any carts that are in need of a good deep cleaning.  I'd say this would be ok if used on the top of a laminated label, but would still damage the label if you just poured it on top, willy nilly, as it would likely soak into the label around the edges, lamination or not.

Ya, what I tend to do is if its on the edge I kind of "tilt" the cart so any extra will pour away from the label. I use a qtip, dip it into the rain-x and try to keep the extra to a minimum. Always gotta be careful around edges of labels though so it doesnt drip underneath
