It's hard telling with you. I could see you playing this again if there was some way to torment me involved.
Bet your sweet ass I would have played again if you weren't such a baby.

No, because you just said if you won a tiebreaker, then you would be tied for the genre lead since you are currently 1 point behind. It's a bit late to be asking for rule changes just so you can attempt to tie me given that other people are playing too and may have a 9500 point score that they haven't posted. If you hadn't finished 17th during TMNT 3 week, you may have had a shot at winning. I have to leave in the morning and will be away for the weekend, so I'm done for the week. It's 3:00 AM now, so I'm going to bed. The idea of having a tiebreaker for the purpose of creating a potential tie and then using that to break the tie you caused is crazy even by your standards.
I wasn't serious. 'Nuff said. Don't get your panties in a bunch. And yeah, if I liked beat'em ups like TMNT or DD more, I would be more of a contender for the genre badge. One point or eleven, you have your genre win. Conglaturation!

We aren't tied for the genre since I have a 1 point lead and still I win outright with a tie this week. Quit trying to confuse me at 2:30 in the morning. Go to bed.
Ok, one last try. If we do a tiebreaker for this week that gives me 1 more point, then we would be tied in the genre as well. So then this week would double as the genre tiebreaker as well. Capeesh?

The old man has gone senile again thinking we are tied for the genre lead. I have a one point lead, so a tie means I still win.
I meant a tiebreaker for this week which would tie us for the genre, but this week's tiebreaker would double as a tiebreaker for the genre. Sorry, I knew it would be too complicated for you.

There. I did it. Now I never want to play this game again.
You sure? Low score tie breaker contest for the genre??? No, what the hell am I thinking. I don't want to play anymore either.

It's not a terrible game, but it's not exactly great either. At least I still have a few days to try and hit 9500. I should have known that my math was going to be off.
There it is again. You are suffering the aftermath of too many hits to the head.

I tried this morning and just missed it. I guess that I will have to play again unfortunately.
Unfortunately?! Best beat'em up on the NES!

@bertsampson If this is the last year that we get to do this, I will miss it even if I have to put you in your place one more time. We can't give them too much though. We need to save the best material for the VGS Greatest Rivalries DVD. Being compensated in retirement is important!
I agree. I'm sure one of us will pull a Favre though.

A class above mediocrity is probably the closest you have come to giving me a compliment. You're still overrated and lucky to hit mediocre on your best day.
I'm a little talk and less show. I fail the cyborg race weekly. My saving grace is that I'm old and have played these games more than most of these youngsters.

At least I got one the year before! I'm pretty sure @gutsman004 is still traumatized from that Stinger contest too. I made up for it by absolutely crushing that new @bertsampson kid though.
Hahaha, all your BS is going to look silly when you fail to make it to round 3 next month.

My one strong genre? Again you seem to forget when I beat you for 4 genre titles back in 2015 or are you using that "rookie year" excuse again?
Yes, yes I am. I was playing strictly for fun back then. Then I realized I was allowing mediocre players to think they were good at NES games.

It sure seems like a platformer to me. I still haven't had a chance to play again since the rule change. I was kind of hoping you would just stick with your old score and spare us the trouble of playing again since I can still win the genre with a tie.
I agree. But, you can't shoot, and you can pick things up and throw them. There aren't any Halloween themed games closer to the beat-em up genre.
Did you really think I was going to let you take the win so easily?

I thought it was an Everdrive too since thats not a regular Double Dragon II label. If I tie @bertsampson he can have it so he can feel better about himself and say that he won something.
Monster in my Pocket is by far the best "Beat-em Up" we've ever played on the weekly challenges. I will gladly take a trophy to remind me of this defeat of the almighty @Bearcat-Dougon his one strong genre.

I got the math figured out. Now I just have to make it happen.
Got the math figured out, but just can't make it happen?

Did you get that 9500 yet?
Yes, yes I did. You?

aaahhh tie for the win
Unfortunately. @Bearcat-Dougjust has to hit 9,500 to cement his only shot at some sort of accolade this year.

Kind of.
Final boss pictures take precedence over score. Then highest score closer to 9,500 at the final boss will be used as tie break.
For 9,490 scores outside the final boss, progress will determine their placing, right below to those who made that far.Clear as mud.
-
Just now, BeaIank said:
I will fix the wording.
If you make to the final boss, you will be above the others who maxed before it.So closest to 9,500 without going over is only used as tiebreaker at final boss.
-
2 minutes ago, BeaIank said:
Rules amended.
If you break 9,500, you final score is 9,490 and your runs end at the point where you were.
Wait, that doesn't leave much margin. If my score is 9,480 at the final boss, I would lose to someone who maxes the score on level 3? How about 9,400 or even 9,000?
-
1 minute ago, BeaIank said:
Then we lower the limit to 9,500 and done.
So, strategically hit as close to 9,500 without going over by the score tally screen before final boss? That would be a pain. Sounds good!

Just now, BeaIank said:
There would be needed some strategic point pressing to not hit 9,990 before the final boss and get there with exactly that score.
It wouldn't be so easy. The score doesn't roll over. No way to prove you didn't max the score before the final boss.

Crap, really? You think so? I knew a boxed copy that really looks nothing like Zombie Nation was too good to be true. Oh well. I've played it before, and this copy doesn't seem any different.
