Just a couple things I noticed on a cursory glance of the NES list:

Racermate 2 should probably be a 10 based on numbers alone.

It could probably be fair that Stadium Events is no higher than a 9.  It's more common than people think, especially when several pop up every year for sale.  The other R10s are far rarer than SE.

Not sure if the R9 Impossible Mission II is supposed to be the AVE or SEI release, but neither should be that high.  AVE would be an R6 tops.  Neither SEI variant should be more than an R7, maybe R8 on a good day.

Bubble Bath Babes is far more common than the other two Panesians, and should probably be downgraded to R8.

Caltron was once considered super rare, but a few found skids tanked it.  R7 at best.

Little Samson seems low at 7.  I'd put it at 8 for sure.  Given how scarce it was before the price skyrocketed, I'd say it's probably scarcer than F2, though that's debatable.

For the most part, the list looks good, but those were just a few that felt a bit off.  Not terribly so in most cases, but definitely off.  Still, I commend you on the sheer magnitude of the project and how it turned out.  There's always gonna be nitpicking done with rarity lists, but you did a pretty good job overall!

I would have guessed BBB had the same amount made as the other 2. Or maybe its like Starfox over DKC competition cart, more made but harder to find?

Lol that reminds me in the Facebook Switch group where people say "rate my collection" and it's the 20 or 30 games all being 1st party commons. It's pretty common, but meh can't say anything bad just like the post and move on.

The most notorious right now is Super Mario 3D All Stars being a "rare" pick-up.

Nintendo did say it had a limited release. Not sure why, in both them saying and doing it

  3. What makes you personally cringe when it comes to game collecting? I love hearing about "rare items" and "Holy grails", but it hurts watching videos on them by people who have zero idea on them.

People who put Earthbound in the top 5 rarest Snes games. Or clickbait thumbnails with the creator looking like a fucking blow up doll, while either a blurred game or photoshopped black game is opposite them (pokemon card videos are some of the worst for this).

Do you have any? Wanted to try and keep this thread different to the "what do you hate in collecting" threads.

Only just now seeing this thread. What a cool idea! Coming up with a top 3 this broad though, that's tough. Here are some possible contenders for "greatest moments in gaming":

-) Setting myself on a "One Day Challenge" at the age of 14 to play A Link to the Past from beginning to end all in one day. With minimal breaks for food and bathroom visits (and, luckily, few interruptions from the parents), I managed it and felt pretty proud of myself.

-) Discovering the secret basketball court in the training stage of Thief: The Dark Project. Finding it was itself amusing but then I found the scroll with all of the hilarious behind-the-scenes developer quotes and I felt like I had just uncovered something truly special. That's one of the earliest moments I can remember of actively thinking about the designers of a game and getting to experience a bit of what it was like to be one of them. It was a paradigm shift for sure.

-) Getting to attend Power Fest in 1990. I don't remember if it was planned or just pure happenstance but my aunt and uncle wanted to take me with them on a road trip to Disneyland. While we were there, Power Fest was going on and I had the incredible fortune to get to go. Seeing aisles and aisles of booths and demos. Getting a chance to play SMB3 for the first time. Basking in an entire event center crammed with monuments to the greatness of Nintendo. It was like every Nintendo kid's dream.

    Some Honorable Mentions:

-) Getting my SNES on December 26th, 1991. The first console I ever bought with my own money.

-) Finally reaching the Dragonlord's castle in Dragon Warrior, surviving the gauntlet and defeating the Dragonlord himself, after 6 months of exploring, looting and leveling up.

-) Watching someone play Doom for the first time and being incredibly jealous that I didn't have a home computer.

Would love to take place in gaming tournaments. And finding secrets in games with no hints always feels great.

Thanks! I love this kinda stuff so it’s kinda fun for me really.

If you check the notes tab on the NES list, they’re coming eventually, along with the test carts and other stuff.

Gonna be way harder though since I’ll have to go on UK eBay, Italy eBay, Germany, etc etc.

Sorry, yeah I count that one! Explanation below.

You’re right it doesn’t belong in the USA list, but it’s special enough to warrant adding as it’s own unique category.

Its technically a licensed NTSC release and I accidently lumped it in with the 296 USA releases.

Ill fix it when I get to a PC

Thats cool. It was 100% a joke.
