....I've been overthinking this answer for days. In fact, before I reveal my answer, I have a question for whomever reads this.
What do you count as a holy grail?
There's a difference between Holy grails and white whales. White whale would be rare and expensive items, but a holy grail would be a one off item that many people want, and may not even exist.... right?
Didn't mean to derail. This is a cool question.

Thanks @Splainfor doing this! Was really fun, and some of these questions had me on the ropes, and made me think.

I felt Sami's was better. But he wasn't main event material. Even though that didn't stop people like Drew, or Cody, or Jinder.

Is Roman still undisputed champion? I mean, seth has the world title, so he doesn't have them all.
Yet.

Must have been in a fire sale.

What's the worst loss you've ever had, game wise? Could be losing a save state on accident or memory card lent to a friend. Or maybe you lost the whole cart.
I need to think about mine, but would be cool to hear yours.

If you flash back a dozen years almost a dead to rights move was Cinemassacre and the realization they could monetize their video game collections by making hidden gem and rare gem videos and spamming them to YT and any media caring to cover it as a buzz piece for clicks. You could back then track when they'd drop another gem video to seeing what was a $10 game become a $100 game and largely would just escalate and get worse, a few would peak for a week or month then flounder largely but not all the way back. Take a game like Hagane, pre-video it was in a good $50-70 range, post video it went upwards of $250+, fell back slightly after the rise to around $200 and then went back to escalation.
Yet on the other end of the spectrum but same system Run Saber about a $10 game, video popped it up to over $40, but soon lost down to $20 and took another 2-3 years to get back to $40 and upwards since in the $60-70 range until the asinine pandemic pricing hell ensued ($150) yet even now retracting back into the 70s.
Around their time the lame Game Chasers used to manufacture videos to do hidden gems at flea markets for a dollar style pricing WOWZ for subs. Go find their old video where at the same place I think they got both Flinstones 2 and Samson for almost nothing, so called crapped their pants in amazement, and that got everyone fishing for such amazing rares. They were already high though(for then), but got utterly absurd after. It's why then (NA back then) and now I detest clowns like this because it makes it harder on both game players and collectors when they fish for speculators and investors to increase their collections values.
Woah! Did the game chasers ever get called out for it? Or even confess?

My friend. Went out celebrating a birthday. Friend mouthed off to a cop and got arrested. We shrugged and went to the club anyway.

Does anyone know any times where a youtuber or Internet influencer helped increase the value of a game? I've heard it mentioned on forums but no names included with it.

Heard a few other 2600 games were only available through ordering through the phone. But the Internet is worse than the wild west, so I cant see anything concrete.

The speedrunning Community love these exploits, and for some reason so do the developers. Seeing a fault or flaw in your own game isn't good.

@DarkTone lol "great game" *votes good game* I think that made me laugh more than it should have haha.
I voted 8, but I really wish it had starred Mario instead. The gameplay is good, but it's not as jump-y rather it's more smash-y. I do love the Treasure system and them determining your castle when you beat the game.Ah. The Meltzer method.

Now I'm curious - did this influence how you feel about subscriptions versus ownership of media today?
A lot of game collectors have very strong opinions on the topic, but I doubt many grew up with such a strict "rental-only" rule regarding their games.

I dont think I've ever thought about it. Rental only? Hmmm....

Its been over, and I have no idea what they are planning. Multiple chances to drop it to someone else. I guess they wanted him to reach 1,000 but..... this isn't the first time this has happened.
