fury road is amazing, 10 from me. i saw the trailer completely by surprise, the one where they drive into the sandstorm and was blown away. one of the few movies i made a point to see in the theater. i remember like 20 minutes in when the action finally breaks i let out a breath of relief like i'd been holding it the entire time.
the video game that came out around the same time is a very good adaptation of the universe. it's not the movie storyline, but closely related, maybe a pseudo prequel. the scope of the wasteland is impressive.
the road warrior also holds up very well after 40 years (better than i remember even), recommend everyone check that out if you like fury road.

Cable using the UHF frequencies has been around for a LONG time. Seems a little more likely that he just happened to have a VHF-only TV, so wasn't able to see the full package.
I guess he could be a lot older than I thought, though.
@Lincoln one of the early channels you're missing is TBS (it has been around on cable since the mid-70's). And Fox wasn't even created until 1986.
Doing a quick lookback over channel history, it is pretty fascinating that Nickelodeon goes back to 1977, and even VH1 (1985) predates Fox.
Genuinely surprised you didn't have MTV, though, since that was the definition of having cable in the 80's.
Ah yeah, tbs not tnt. I was thinking "atlanta braves channel" and blanked on the callsign.
@Estilwas right though, only channels to 13 were available. It was a very small town with a local provider, so it was either cable or not, and when the lineup changed it did for everyone. We did need converter boxes after that for the old tvs.
Never had uhf service I'm aware of, and im sure i cranked that dial around a few times out of curiosity.

we had hbo but I believe we paid for it. that was the only premium channel available for several years. eventually the cable lineup expanded and cinemax and disney were available, but we didn't subscribe to those.
i can actually remember most of the original cable lineup
2-hbo
3-cbs
4-family channel
5-nbc
6-? may have been usa early on
7-tnn (the nashville network)
8-pbs
9-abc
10-?
11-wgn
12-tnt
13-espn
later on we got nick, vh1, a&e or amc, and a few others i can't remember. never had mtv so I was deprived of beavis & butt-head growing up, which i consider a travesty. we had fox eventually, but that was notably missing for a long time. i think it ended up on 7, i don't know what happened to tnn -

You can make the account require login, and then the buyer would have to add their own profile. Different profiles on the same PS4 can play games downloaded by other profiles. That's how this works, if I recall correctly; been a while since I even booted up my PS4.
For retail games that works if the console is registered as the home console. However you can only have a single home ps4, so that limits what he could do with his new pro.
I can't say whether or not PT follows the home console rule or is immediately available to everyone. Might be a good idea to test before selling- change your home console assignment and add a dummy account to the PT machine and attempt to run under the new account.

Somebody can correct me if im wrong but i think you'd have to hand over your psn account as well to keep the install active

got this app when I ordered some trees. It works pretty well. Picks shipping notifications out of your email or something and keeps track of all your shipments.
thanks, this is what i was looking for. i'll give it a shot.

I've ordered a bunch of stuff from ebay/gamestop/amazon over the past couple months and it's been annoying trying to keep track of everything outstanding. anyone have an app or site they can feed everything to and it'll keep you updated?

That's been the rumor since it came out, but I've never read anything where anybody actually dumped the ROM and gained access to the chipset to confirm everything. Just did some quick Googling and still not coming up with anything, unfortunately. Would totally love to be able to play it on real hardware versus a cramped handheld.
The hardware is nes-adjacent. That russian guy ("sanchez", with abstract spelling) who's big into reversing and dumping pirate carts and other oddities got hold of the rom and made progress converting it to run on the nes. Afaik the code is mostly ok, the graphics have to be converted. I don't know where he would up with it.

Timewalk stuff is (was?) very sought after and commanded a premium over other bootleg producers.
The issue with grading boots is there's no objective standard you can apply to something like that.
And if they're gonna be serious about it listing it as "reproduction" is borderline fraudulent. Its fine shorthand but officially there is no original example for that item in that form.

Im not a conservative and i know these protests are mostly astroturfing but i get the idea they're tapping into.
The idea that the government can order your livelihood shut down without compensation is a scary prospect and not a power they should necessarily be granted. People are going to lose businesses and jobs and go broke. A one time minimum wage payment is not gonna cut it. Relief from recurring payments an/or replacement income is needed. And cap it off a lot of people are going to lose health insurance since its almost universally tied to employment in the usa.
The saving grace so far is the stay at home orders have had very little legal enforcement to be tested, its mostly been an agreement with the public that we're doing this to keep shit from completely falling apart. And unemployment payments are taking up the slack for a lot of people, although its taking a while to actually get money into people's hands.

My dad has a nice 80s camera he dug out recently and has shot a couple rolls.
How are you guys getting the film developed? He took a roll to walmart and they shipped it off and he got a cd back with the images but he wasnt happy with that process.
-
Yeah there's virtually no issue with voter fraud. The real issue is election fraud, where someone is interfering with the process, is an actual problem, and it typically presents in Republican controlled areas.

1. She is a woman - which Biden has committed to.
2. She is black - something which many in the donkey herd seem to desperately want.
3. She actually has some political experience - unlike one of the people Biden has said he wants.
4. She is one of the few contenders who is demonstrably dumber than the Delaware Doofus - thereby heading off palace coup attempts.
5. It would really be fun to see Pence make mincemeat out her in a VP debate or two.
Disclaimer ive been paying no attention to biden since bernie dropped out. I have no idea who he's considering.
Biden already has very strong support among black voters and i don't imagine there are many independent black voters seriously considering trump.
I don't know much about pence except his home state hates him after he spent his term as governor tanking everything. Ive not heard anyone praise his speaking skills and he always seems out of place. I cant picture him doing any real damage to anyone but himself in a vp debate.

When i want to play nes games, i go to the avs. My primary tv is a flatscreen and the avs is better suited than a front loader. There's generally no need for me to hook up the original.

the replacement forum is live but it's all but abandoned. they really fucked up the transition and then redirected all resources away from it. registration is closed so nobody new can post. The archived NA (and SA and PC) posts are all there but they're a mess.

Ah yeah i see it now. Still, its too clever for the exercise.
FreeDVDBoot and PS2 Collecting

Havent heard much about dreamcast bootlegs being an issue. That's the closest example to ps2.
There are some high end pce-cd repros that are nearly indistinguishable from legit copies. I would be very wary entering that market.
Sega CD has had some notable attempts, but ive never seen one in person. Real SCD also have an identifier on the inner ring that's doesnt get duplicated.
