Damn this is hard... I've done at least 20 runs already and I still havent broken 30K
-
My name's Michael too! ....no, it's not, I don't stand a chance
-
Hmm yeah it was pretty fun, bit too difficult and kinda ended up being a spamfest, but then I couldnt beat the third fighter so maybe theres more to it. I thought it looked good at least, and there's satisfaction being able to land consecutive hits and push the CPU against the ropes

Don't worry I know - I was on a new run and got to Leblanc a second time. I lost though, but its still an improvement over Run 1 since my stats were better from training. Done now... fun time but the training required per run stymies my chances.

Lol @Bearcat-Doug I just got the joke that totally flew over my head
-
Thank you. I gotta rematch LeBlanc right now.... shudder

Well, I still fought Tsong Po first so it wasnt truly base stats - but no training. Are we allowed to fight them out of order @BeaIank? Assuming you'd still have to fight Tsong Po first. I'm doing another run now, about to face Woodman again but with better stats. Pretty fun game, surprised me. Great art direction I might add.

Metal blade? I didn't even know about that. I beat this fool first try with base stats!!

Stage 2: 2,000 I guess it must be just stage since it becomes non-linear so who's to say what section is what. -

Are we measuring progress just by Stage, or also section? @BeaIank @guillavoie If its the former I'll likely do another quick run just to get a lower score than mbd -

Cool man yeah you can let me know - yeah I feel ya I keep my collection very trimmed and all CIB, I think im under 80 NES games currently, but despite that I have CV trilogy, Contra, Super C, Jackal, Blades of Steel, Stinger, Bayou Billy, Turtles 3 plus like 5ish more Ultra games, and I just dumped my Double Dribble, Goonies, Life Force and Lone Ranger too on top of that all recently-ish. Without Konami what even is the NES? -

Nice nice I hope you dig that and found a nice one. Wide variance of condition on that one. I've always gotten lucky with finding this game, I've had 4 (5?) Stinger boxes total including this one, most of the boxes were on the rough side though. Glad I held onto this last CIB when I had 2 and this one's the best I've had. Actually as far as shooters go I quite enjoyed this one in the recent contest. Konami just makes good shit no matter the genre. Way better than Capcom -

Not really that great but im not too good at football games so this is likely my only attempt. I just played on the keyboard for this one. And @docile tapeworm I got a HT stinger i'd maybe part with -

To chime in on Cpt Skyhawk @NESfiend I think most non-edgelords who've tried it see it as a competent game but it's not exciting as a collectible - very common (ultra-common?) and with typical gameplay. When you think about it every Milton Bradley-published game is among the most common - this one, California Games, World Games (<--most uncommon, that's not a high rarity bar), Marble Madness, Digger T Rock, Jordan vs Bird, Time Lord, Abadox, and Cabal. That just makes sense to me since Milton Bradley already had prior experience and presence with game publishing and distribution (importantly, in spheres that parents with money grew up around ie mainstream board games), and they seem to have had a high success rate: it could be argued that 9/9 games were hits for the company, and on top of that about half are also ultra-commons? The games are from various devs and are all good enough experiences but that doesn't tell the whole story, so I link it to an experienced company having that extra publishing power and good instinct to get their games sold. The irony of course is that decades later the carts become so common that most collectors overlook them as worthwhile experiences But that is now, and this is then
-
Oh yeah no prob hey even that was a pretty expensive one to open in retrospect so thats fun too
-
Fun fact about this game, I opened a case-fresh sealed one to check if the cart's end label was lifted. Lo and behold - it was. @oops had the same result with his, maybe we should have kept it a mystery

349,800 Not my genre, but not a bad run. I have a CIB but had never played it, I like it, the bright color palette draws me in more than the standard shooter template does. Not sure if my points slingshotted up somewhere along the line maybe from rescuing that dude on level 1? I was juggling the cloud bonuses a lot too.
