Weird! maybe bidders thought the box was some original rarity? I did, before seeing it said it's a reproduction 🙂

they say they grade anything (for money), so that's what they do. keep giving them business!

they can only pump what they have dupes of so i guess you could say things have de-escalated quickly

I can't think of a reason why it would be. As Link said, it wasn't an arcade game, and it was obscure back in 1992. Plus,

they should have called it Taito Arcade Milestones . leaving samson out of 2 games called taito milestones says they dont care

I don't think Taito gives much of a flip about retro NES gamers.

exactly the recipe for rarity. the fans care but the devs dont

  3. in all seriousness it's likely tied to supply

speculation about the year is a clue

1992 right next to the SNES release the studio probably had  way too many projects and trying to transition equipment and staff to SNES developing

probably the nerds in the 'perfect everything NES department' kept delaying the game and the studio released low numbers to gauge if they wanted to rerelease as a SNES or just cut their losses

why would you release a bible nes game after the SNES release?

it's really similar in gameplay to other taito platformers.... aka a decent game not legendary or iconic...

there are a lot of libraries and NES completionists which is probably the only reason for the high demand is low supply numbers

Rich bastards don't care about games, can guarantee it. They be going after babes and yachts, well classically anyways.

Nah, they have those weird greek alphabet ratio things that calculate this stuff for them and they like to pretend it's just supply/demand so us "normies" can think the world is ezpz.

if @ThePhleo didnt use samson for branding the price would probably be reasonable

also to consider is that a consignor has to batch many games to equal all the minimum requirements. so for 1 game to 'sell' would be ignoring the other things they had to consign to get on the platform

kind of like ordering 1 rib instead of a whole rack

I’m not saying it doesn’t count but like @DoctorEncore said it’s just world class track meet lol

Not worth the price, imo. I found a couple sellers back when I was considering a CIB copy, but they weren't willing to budge in the slightest. I'd rather own several other CIB fullsets. Also, since it's the same game as World Class Track Meet, I have zero problem with people who don't have it claiming they have a full set.

Anyways, not trying to disparage @CIB_Wholesale in any way here. Wish you the best of luck on the sale, my friend.

no way a completionist would let that slide .

Stadium Events is a Bandai game

World Class Track Meet is a Nintendo game

There are 2 separate issues that I feel a lot of people are confused about:

    1. Do I agree that the price is worth whatever someone’s willing to pay for an item? Yes absolutely, I will never have objections to this.

    2. Do I think every transaction in the realm of collectibles are fair and purchased by only passionate collectors? No, I think bidders are a mix of fair, hype and market manipulation.

It needs to be said that it’s in my best interest that sealed games go up in value, because I have some in my personal collection. However, I also don’t want to turn a blind eye with some shonkiness, because this would invite more and more shonkiness to occur. Ultimately, I want the hobby to progress healthily, not irrationally and excessive absurdity.

healthy means you can match a comp or get pretty near to it. no one can come close to HA comps

HA owns nearly every sealed game sold high score despite starting a few years ago and using 2 zoomed out no detail pics

    right.
