Looks like I'm not too late to this party, I wanted to say thank you to @DefaultGen@Johnny and Stefan but since Stefan is on twitter I'll just stick with the cool guys instead. Jokes aside, I really appreciate the three of you taking the time to put together the podcast. I'm not sure if I would say there is a direct correlation between me getting into videogame collecting and listening to the collector's quest but I can say that when I was ready to start collecting I already had a wealth of great tips and tricks thanks to you three. Johnny was actually true to his word and super responsive on instagram about a gamecube collecting question I had and that speaks volumes to me. I also would not have of found this wonderful community as easily as I did had it not been for the three of you that and I'd probably be collecting disc only (ew). So thanks guys, keep up the excellent work!

(Also gimme those deets on the patreon if you're being serious, you guys I'd gladly contribute financially towards if it helps you out.)

I appreciate the kind words and I do my best to respond to people, even if I am very slow, especially here on VGS.

We were serious about the Patreon, it is up and running. https://www.patreon.com/CollectorsQuest

@Johnny It's all speculation either way, but either scenario is possible, and I have my reasons for believing a lot more of these will appear.

Sure, but possible vs probable, it seems less probable more would appear.  People love to talk about mythical pallets appearing, but that is quite rare. Could it happen though, sure it is possible. If you have information that makes the scenario more likely, great you should use that information to make the best decision. As far as hoping, I hope we do find more, these controllers are kind of awesome, I hope you know something we don't so more people can get these.

@supergamboy They were sold by Gamers Express Online, which appears to have no affiliation with Realtec, I am not sure if other amazon sellers had it though, but this is what my receipt shows.

As far as demand you are probably right, I am not sure who wants these, I am also not sure how many people really know about them.

That’s awesome! I’d love to hear johnny’s take on it (or any other Genny collector for that matter).  I snatched it up when I saw it as I knew it was near impossible to find, and I *think* it was around 2012.  Again, haven’t heard or seen one pop up since, so I’d love to know what the deal is with them (More out there? Desirable? Expensive?)

So for a long time, like pre 2012 these things were crazy hard to find, they were really expensive for the time too being at 100+ easy. It was March 2012,when the seller Games Express Online (Selling out of NJ) dumped a bunch of New Old Stock on Amazon. they were clearing them out for $20. That batch sat for a little bit but not long and were eventually all snapped up. I haven't seen many more since then. I am not positive they made it to a full retail release, and if they did it wasn't very wide.

As far as a big crate popping up, maybe but that's gambling. Odds are we have seen what we have seen of these and the ones that will find there way into the market will be from collectors and not from some warehouse that is probably guarded by "Top Men".

Additionally some small corrections to your list. The US version of "James Pond Crazy Sports" is "The Super Aquatic Games Starring the Aquabats" not "James Pond Aquatic Games". "Eric Cantona Football Challenge" is PAL but it's specific to France. The rest of Europe called it "Striker".

There are some other edge cases too. The Star Fox competition cart got a rename to match it's Pal name: "Star Fox: Super Weekend" / "Starwing Competition". "Tony Meola's Sidekicks Soccer" (US) was not released in Europe but was released in Brazil as "Super Copa". "Kevin Keegan's Player Manager" was not released in the US but in Germany it got renamed to "K.H. Rummenigge's Player Manger".

My source for finding these was Wikipedia, but I verified them with snescentral or when necessary, ebay.

Thanks for all the info, I will add it in. I am doing some PAL collecting right now so I figured it might be nice for other collectors to know the in and outs as well

I've listened to the 1st 30 minutes so far.  Allow me to address some of the comments made.

@Johnny made the point about how much should GoCollect care about making a new forum when the entire userbase left.  For the record, VGS was not created because of the speculation that NA was shutting down, that was not how the chain of events were set in motion.

If I were to identify a point where things really reached a point of no return with NA it would be when your video was taken down @DefaultGen .  A little background, that was a good 3-4 months after the sale to GC and we as a staff had heard next to nothing from Jeff in that timeframe.  Jeff actually told us that forums weren't the future for GoCollect.  That statement went along with everything we had seen from him, confirmed our suspicion that he had no interest.  We had asked if we could make improvements to the site ourselves and were told flat out no, he wouldn't allow it.

That brings us to your video.  We were told that people weren't happy about the content and wanted it deleted.  The message read like that was what Jeff wanted (which days later he clarifed that he was only asking our opinion).  The video gets taken down, shitshow ensues, I publicly resigned (which I asked Jeff to remove me that day and he never bothered).  After that mess Jeff asked if anyone on the staff wanted to purchase the site (the impression was that he felt he couldn't win with the community).  So he initiated selling the site to some of us, we exchanged emails and set up a time for a phone call to discuss details.  He didn't show up for the call, and we didn't hear another word from him until he popped in a couple months later to say some of his GoCollect lackey's were joining the staff as admins/mods.

That blown handling of the potential sale was when we decided we were going to create an alternative and the wheels really went in motion for VGS.  We tried guys! The entire NA server being shut down forcing GoCollects hand to make their "improvements" had nothing to do with what we were building here.

One other thing Johnny brought up about Dain being above criticism from so many, I couldn't agree more!  How can people say "NA sucks!! Except for Dain"  Now I'm not complaining about Dain, I like some stuff he did and don't like some other stuff.  But how does a person get all the credit but none of the blame? If people didn't like NA, wouldn't it stand to reason Dain could have fixed whatever they didn't like about it?  How Dain pulled that trick off I will never know.

Anyway, hopefully that clears some things up.

    Thank you for the clarification
