  2. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome for another week of our NES weekly contest! This week there will be MUCH shooting happening as our players tackle Silk Worm! A shooter game which is most complex to come up with working rules for... But nonetheless, here there are: 1 life only Play Heli or Jeep, your choice. If you die, pause the game at the start of your new life and take your picture. Since the game doesn't show your score and lives during the boss phase, pause and take your picture before the boss of the wave to post in case you die to the boss. Play till you get to wave 8 boss. Pause the game right before you get to the wave 8 boss to get your final score. I strongly suggest that you all watch playthrough of this game to know when the boss of the wave is about to come up. Point pressing at the bosses is not allowed. Highest score win Genre: Shooter The game doesn't seem to have a highscore screen, so unfortunately, those are the rules we have to run with. They are messy, I know, but the game doesn't help it. The contest ends Sunday, 06/13/21 at 11 PM VGS time. Your user name MUST be written or typed on a piece of paper and be in the picture for your score to be valid. The entire TV screen, or computer monitor if you are playing on an emulator, MUST be in the picture for the score to be valid. No partial screenshots will be considered or accepted. No screenshots by hitting "print screen" on a computer will be allowed. You must take a picture of your computer monitor. There may be instances where this will be acceptable, but it will be at the discretion of myself and the contest organizers. Also, the use of turbo controllers is forbidden, as well as any cheat codes, Game Genies, slow motion functions, or save states if playing on an emulator. Also, we will only be using NTSC systems for the contests. The use of PAL systems will NOT be allowed. Good luck everyone and have fun.
  3. Geral and genre scoreboards updated. @Dr. Morbis is still leading, but his lead is now down to 2 points to @NESfiend. @bertsampson still remains in 3rd, going on with his cruise mode.
  4. Final standings posted. Those that didn't make to the leg 3 of their stages were given a time of 9:59''9 for consistence's sake. Congratulations to @PII and @Mega Tank for tying up for 1st.
  5. I will post the final scores today. Been one hell of a week. Rest assured that your score will be there.
  6. Things are working exactly like planned. I need to do this more.
  7. Now with a picture I can add your score on. Just need to remember the exact stage you were so I can put it there.
  8. Glad you are having fun. That was the main idea with this rule set. Freshen things up with Battletoads.
  9. You're supposed to go over 500k. Once you break it you stop. So, highest possible score would be delivering the last blow to Dark Queen with a 499,900 or something score.
  10. You add the stage bonus to your score whenever your run ends. And only the stage bonus for the stage you were at.
  11. Current states posted. I used the 2nd lap timer for those who didn't finish the game as it is already the sum on lap 1 and lap 2.

  13. Ladies, gentlemen, the ONE event you all have been long awaiting for is finally here! This week we shall watch our mighty competitors tackle the super easy game Battletoads, with some specially crafted rules to make it a tiny bit challenging at the very least! I bet we will see everyone tied for 1st place this time around! So, here's the rules our mighty amphibians of skirmish have to follow this week: Start at Ragnarok's Canyon Play till you reach 500,000 points, you get down to the last point of your energy bar or lose a life. You can get hit as long as you still have more than one point in your energy bar. Pause the game as soon as you get down to the last point bar in your energy bar and take your picture If anything causes you to lose a life, your run ends. Pause the game and take your picture Pause the game as soon as you break 500,000 points After being reaching 500,000 points add the stage bonus to your current score: Level 1-Ragnarok's Canyon - 0 points Level 2-Wookie Hole(Impact Crater) - 15,000 points Level 3-Turbo Tunnel - 30,000 points Level 4-Arctic Caverns - 45,000 points Level 5-Surf City - 60,000 points Level 6-Karanth's Lair - 75,000 points Level 7-Volkmire's Inferno - 90,000 points Level 8-Intruder Excluder - 105,000 points Level 9-Terra Tubes - 120,000 points Level 10-Rat Race - 135,000 points Level 11-Clinger Wingers - 150,000 points Level 12-the Revolution - 165,000 points Level 13-Dark Queen - 180,000 points Your final score is current score + stage bonus score Highest score wins. The use of stage warps is not only allowed, but encouraged. Genre: Beat 'em up The rules were even toned down a tiny bit to make it even easier for our competitors! Enjoy and have fun, mighty ones. This is a very easy challenge you all will conquer with ease! The contest ends Sunday, 06/06/21 at 11 PM VGS time. Your user name MUST be written or typed on a piece of paper and be in the picture for your score to be valid. The entire TV screen, or computer monitor if you are playing on an emulator, MUST be in the picture for the score to be valid. No partial screenshots will be considered or accepted. 14. If y'all had put that much effort in Antarctic Island, all scores would have been over easy 300K points!
  15. You can get hit as long as you don't lose a square of your energy bar. That is different than dying. The death rule covers the fact that there are things that will kill you right away, so losing a life ends your run as well. Game is too easy as it is, so I had to figure out a way to make it slightly harder for the contest.
  16. The barely challenging rules for Battletoads will be as follow: Start at Ragnarok's Canyon Play till you reach 400,000 points or you lose a square of your energy bar You can get hit as long as that hit doesn't consume one or more squares of your energy bar. This includes any situations that causes you to immediately lose a life If you are hit in a way that causes you to lose one or more squares of your energy bar, your run ends. Pause the game and take your picture. If the space invaders aliens take your energy away and you don't recover it, your run ends right there. Pause and take your picture. If anything causes you to lose a life, your run ends. Pause the game and take your picture Pause the game as soon as you break 400,000 points After being reaching 400,000 points add the stage bonus to your current score: Level 1-Ragnarok's Canyon - 0 points Level 2-Wookie Hole(Impact Crater) - 15,000 points Level 3-Turbo Tunnel - 30,000 points Level 4-Arctic Caverns - 45,000 points Level 5-Surf City - 60,000 points Level 6-Karanth's Lair - 75,000 points Level 7-Volkmire's Inferno - 90,000 points Level 8-Intruder Excluder - 105,000 points Level 9-Terra Tubes - 120,000 points Level 10-Rat Race - 135,000 points Level 11-Clinger Wingers - 150,000 points Level 12-the Revolution - 165,000 points Level 13-Dark Queen - 180,000 points Your final score is current score + stage bonus score Highest score wins. The use of stage warps is not only allowed, but encouraged.
  17. Nah, it is a poor score. This Saturday I will stream some runs to try to get an actual decent score to submit for a world record. Anything under 400K will be just trash.
  18. OK, this is more like it. If I weren't so bad at this, breaking 400K would be a breeze, but I am terrible at catching the fish so I only focus on the flags to add to my score. I should focus on being less bad at this. O
  19. A decade without playing, playing on an emulator and a keyboard surely hinders your skill with a particular game indeed. This is a pathetic score for stage 35. Didn't focus on flags and fish enough on the early stages. Comes with not playing the game in almost a decade. I will likely stream some runs this weekend. This game is very relaxing.
  20. Geral and genre scoreboards updated. @NESfiend is closing the gap to @Dr. Morbis in the fight for 1st place while @bertsampson is still in 3rd, in cruise mode.
  21. Finally posted the final standings. Congratulations for @NESfiend for his victory and for breaking the easy 300K points threshold. Congratulations for @PII for also breaking the easy 300K points threshold and securing 2nd place. In third place we have @bertsampson with a very lazy 259K points score.
  22. Stage skipping is considered cheating in a further progress game unless the rules state otherwise (aka the new Battletoads rules).
