  1. I wanted to go with Rolling Thunder quest 2 which is harder than Code Name Viper's quest 2, but I decided to take it easy on you guys for the tournament finals.
  2. And with this, we end our 2022 season. Congratulations to @Dr. Morbis for winning the tournament and to @Krunch, @NESfiend and @docile tapeworm for the strong show up at the tournament. Thank you all for partaking in it. Once I deal with some serious family stuff here, I will post a post mortem thread about the 2022 season so we can discuss what went well, what didn't and how we can improve for 2023.
  3. The main idea was so that no one would be eliminated because they were handed a bad hand in the form of a genre they aren't actually good at. This was an issue some years ago. Two games per week also allows us to run through all 6 genres of the contest through the tournament, but they need to have rules that account for shorter runs so that it won't take too much time to get good runs in each game. Some further study will be needed to improve over this format. The rules that focus on shorter runs will be used through 2023 to get a better feeling of how to best make them work.
  4. Adjusted the rules to be more clear, forbid the use of a time door more than once and to change it to highest progress + highest score.
  5. Black Friday week had my largest clients keeping me busy as hell. I will be able to post the final standings for round 1 and 2 tomorrow.
  6. Remember that you don't have to reach 4-1 in a single life.

  8. Yes, making it to 4-1 is a requirement for your score to be valid.
  9. This' a tournament. You have to make use of the best learning tools available if you want to come up on top. I didn't become the best player of my character in Street Fighter V in Brazil by not using the training mode and the saving options to train against specific situations against every other characters.
  10. This is where save states come in handy. Save the game before that part and practise it till doing it deathless is second nature.
  11. You can absolutely do it. No deathing one loop of Life Force isn't too hard.
  12. I am doing that early in the morning tomorrow. Today was too hectic for me to post the final standings.
  13. While that is a lot of fun, that also takes a lot of time. A lot of time is something at premium these days.
  14. I absolutely thought it would be a good pick for the finals if we did just a bunch of matches rather than going for the title. It is a great game and 4 matches can be done rather quickly to improve your times. Same with Batman. Keeping it sweet, nice and short was the mentality I went for when picking the games for the 3 rounds.
  15. Best cumulative time. You have to do the 4 fights in a row.
  16. Also, I will be posting the final scores tomorrow in the morning, since everyone is holding till last minute to show their hands...
  17. Why are you trying to loop 2-2 when you haven't reached 5-1 yet? Reaching 5-1 is mandatory. Use the boxes.
  18. Round 1 is still going in hot, it ends today, so our top 8 players of 2022 will have to tackle the ROUND 2 GAMES for the run for the 2022 TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONSHIP! This week, our 8 players, listed below, will tackle a puzzle and a shooter game. @PII @Dr. Morbis @Krunch @the_wizard_666 @mbd39 @NESfiend @docile tapeworm @JamesRobot And here are the games: Puzzle: Game: Q-Bert Rules: Make it to round 4-1 and pause the game You don't have to make it there in one life, so you can burn lives for points Highest score wins Shooter: Game: Life Force Rules: Loop the game without dying Highest score wins The double hit glitch is allowed Points will be awarded for each game in the following fashion: 1st place - 5 points 2nd place - 4 points 3rd place - 2 points 4th place - 1 point 5th and onward - No points Round 2 ends Sunday, 11/27/22 at 11 PM VGS time. Your user name MUST be written or typed on a piece of paper and be in the picture for your score to be valid. 19. OK, so here are the games for the final week of the tournament! Action: Code Name: Vipers Input the password 132718 to start at Level 5, hard mode, 2nd quest Play till life 0 and make it to the final boss at the end of level 8 You need to make it to stage 6 for your score to be valid Pause the game right at the start of the boss fight. 20. Considering that Nesfiend's and Dr. Morbis' scores aren't that much higher than yours and they point pressed, the 10K points refil isn't too much of a issue.
  21. And also, friendly reminder. It doesn't matter how many times you manage to do the loop if you don't reach 5-1 in one single life.
