I had no idea Symphony of the Night had such an error as well. Obviously it must be only certain printings and/or certain regions?
Hybrid 378 Member ·
Yeah Castlevania plays Elmo's number journey. It's a greatest hits copy that had it
bowser 595 Member ·
Are there any GameCube or Wii games with data errors? Also, how about data errors for cartridge games like DS/3DS/Vita/Switch? Cartridges for other systems are probably too easy to fake.
Hybrid 378 Member ·
No Wii games reported GameCube one but never verified One DS game mentioned here but I've never been able to verify it https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.kotaku.com.au/2010/03/little-girl-wanted-pet-monkeys-got-sprung-instead/amp/ Only one verified one for old systems SNES super Street Fighter II Edited August 9, 2020 by Hybrid

ThePhleo 1,954 Member ·
I can’t program a hello world out of a wet paper bag, but I wonder if those data error games can lead to system exploits...clearly they’re compromised games so maybe there’s something that people way smarter than me can use. It is effectively the wrong label on a disc. The data (as far as I know) is a 1:1 match of the original title, so it won’t grant you any special powers unfortunately

Also thanks for ruining my hopes of having a proper PS4 emulator within the decade. Edit: I withdraw my statement. Apparently PS4 emulation is a thing, and a thing done pretty well. Jesus, why do I even want to build a wall of consoles again? Edited August 14, 2020 by ThePhleo
Hybrid 378 Member ·
What sperates a "data error" from a mislabeled game is the fact that everything else is for the game that it's labeled as. Mislabeled game would be a game with the data of the cover but a different picture on the disc. Which has happened in PC games This game plays Lord of mirrors and queen of death
