I don't follow pop news but I did see this and I was quite surprised.  I mean, we all could hypothetically die of cancer, even at a young age, but I didn't see that coming.  He's one of the bigger, long standing names in country music so I know that's got to cut deep for some.

That is country not pop!  And indeed Toby was struck down with (more specifically) stomach cancer which is sadly what also killed Mister Rogers :,(  I mean for the guy who sang in every episode "It's such a good feeling, to know you're alive..." you can imagine how especially awful it was for him and his wife :,(
