In honor of what would've been our 17th anniversary (and sadly 1st anniversary of her passing), this June is my 1st annual NES only month

And why the NES you might ask?  Because during our what would've been our big Sweet Sixteen anniversary celebration we were going to play NES together for the first time (she was in a nursing home 30-40 miles away and since I had no transportation I was only able to see her in person once in a great while).  Now we had already did over the phone Family Feud (NES and other versions) and Blackjack and she told me how one of her sisters was really into the original Super Mario Bros way back and my wife was amazed at all the secrets in that game she could find.  But sadly, she passed away a week before we were supposed to meet up at her nursing home so we didn't get the chance 😞

So with this being what would've been our 17th anniversary (June 17 no less!) I thought what better way to honor her memory than to make June my first annual NES only month!  Not to mention it was my first ever system and from 1990-94 it was the only system I had.  Among other things, I'll try to tackle the trilogies like Castlevania (I think I did finish the second one), Ninja Gaiden, Adventure Island, Adventures of Lolo (I think I did finish the first one) and so on that for whatever reason I never got around to playing all that much.  I'm also thinking of trying out Final Fantasy 3 (the real one, not the mislabeled FF6)...how exactly am I supposed to do the Jobs system on that game, is it like FF5 where you try to eventually max them all out?

I never did have a Game Boy growing up so I'm thinking of including pre-Super Game Boy era as well.  I've been trying to get my grandma to try a Game Boy instead of just having that one handheld Solitaire game but she insists she's content with just that one handheld *shrugs*

On a side note I've also started reading lately the Big Three gaming magazines (NP/EGM/GP) and right now I'm on the 1992 EGM's and GamePros.  While I do have a Everdrive N8 Pro and can easily play whatever NES game I want, I do have a small collection of actual NES cartridges though I haven't really been able to add to it in the past few years sadly 😞

Looks like you've got your month laid out for you.  Are you planning to beat them or just give them a quick play?

Well I would like to try to get as far as I can in FF3, and the trilogies I already mentioned...say how do I make my NES games list single spaced?  It automatically double spaced on me and obviously that takes up too much room.

But yeah I think I'll mostly sample...of course if anyone wants to make any requests feel free (but be sure to explain WHY I should try out that particular game!)
