davetheshrew | 14
OK this is a big ask but I hope theres some people in the know about proto's on this forum. My friend needs information on two konami carts, we dont believe these are prototypes but maybe QC testing? The PCB's, one doesnt work just yet but we are hoping it is mortal kombat? this board came alongside another which turned out to be Yogi for the usa snes and it works fine, the carts are the same so I assumed maybe they were from Cybersoft?, but as far as I can tell they didnt work anywhere near MK, did they have a connection to midway somehow ? Tyree_Cooper | 755
contra and turtles are majesco samples, from the made in mexico era, other peeps had those in the past and the boards are final retail, but you can open them up to see for yourself

As far as I am aware yes to the first and no idea to the second, its not mine, but I will ask if there has been a dump of it for comparison. Tyree_Cooper | 755
i'm sure there's other titles too with the same cheapo-looking label, 100% sure about super castlevania iv, i might even own one, must be hidden in a drawer somewhere. there are most likely people here who own some of these, they may be able to give you more info.
SteelGeneral | 3
Yeah the Contra and TMNT are definitely just crappy late in life retail Majesco carts. I actually have the Contra III one. Mine is supposedly "factory sealed" which means it's in a little clear baggie with some tape (no idea if that's true, but I've left it 'sealed'). SteelGeneral | 3
You can see a few of the others up on ebay now: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313&_nkw=snes+majesco+white+label&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_odkw=contra+iii+snes+white+label&_osacat=

What gets me is that it says "MUST BE RETURNED TO QC". I've never seen that on a Majesco cart before. I find these intriguing variants, but I've never hunted them down. Are there other examples with that note, and why would it be there to begin with?
Tanooki | 4,933
Maybe it's a Majesco qc run for their ghetto cart releases.
