2.4Ghz is the way to go when available.  I use a Bluetooth snes controller and 2.4Ghz Genesis controller with the MISTer.  Also used Xbox one controllers in Bluetooth and 2.4Ghz.  Both scenarios were more reaponsive with the 2.4Ghz.

If there is a difference it's probably really hard to tell.  But I can say having the 2.4 m3 genesis and the bluetooth sn30.  When I play genesis games it feels even nicer.  Now that could be that I just dig the graphics and sounds of genesis better.  Or perhaps there is even a more impressive lack of lag on the 2.4 when I play Mega SG.  I'll def be getting a 2.4 snes controller in June.

  2. I'm having an issue with Super NT, jailbreak 6.9.  I am playing 7th Saga on sd card.  And I set it to hybrid scanlines, but it always defaults back to no scanlines.  I go back into the menu and even though it shows hybrid scanlines selected, I have to re select it, and then I notice the screen size shrink a little and then finally the scanlines reapplied.  What could be going on here?  My Mega SG didn't seem to have that issue.

  3. If you guys go to the Super NT store there are a couple slightly new looks for the US and EUR SN30s.  And they are pre-orders.  I feel pretty good new US and EUR Super NT's will be available this summer.  Which is awesome because I have a black.  Before this the SN30s were sold out and I had to pay $46 for a black controller.

I'm not exactly sure what's causing the problem, but you can find the manual here: https://download.8bitdo.com/Manual/Controller/M30/M30_Manual.pdf

Thanks Doc!  Maybe I messed it up by plugging into a non charging USB cable.  Any way I ordered another one on Amazon but I'll try to work through it with my old one til my new one comes in.  I made sure to order extra actual charging cables with it.

  5. well at the very worst if they ever do make a simpler NES you can probably get your cost selling it used.  But since I am fully on board these FPGa for older systems (rather than spending 1000s on games) I can't let this pass me by.  I already have snes, genesis, and Sega CD.  Gonna get GBA and now NES.  Let's not forget PC Engine Super System 3 when it restocks.  It's expensive to start, but it has taken away my constant mental battles I've been having of (oh I want those on my shelf but damn they're super expensive, how much will repairs cost, when will the saves stop working?).  I can actually start enjoying these older games instead of fantasizing about buying large aging collections for my shelves.  I have as far back as PS1 games on my shelf, and now that's as far back as I feel I need to go thanks to these!!

  6. I started playing 7th saga on my Super NT.  Damn do I love those high res pixels and scanlines.  And I think I'm going to start Xenogears on my PSP even though I do have the disc and PSOne LCD.  Xenosaga is the type of game I might appreciate the SLEEP MODE of the PSP!

  7. So it comes with one of those 8bitdo's in the box?  I like the horizontal double button that they are showing.  Not the old diamond formation one they had in the past.  So I want to make sure that's the controller I am getting.  I pre-ordered because even if I change my mind I know I can easily get all my money back selling it.

Did you change the display settings in the game to 1080i? It isn't enough to just plug in the cables,  you have to go into the settings and change it manually. Otherwise it'll still just output 480i over component.

I played Gran Turismo 4 in 1080i on a projector and it looked great.

which game?  I'm sure not all games have that option.

I'll check but I thought you had to otherwise it just wouldn't display.

If you like the BGDA and Champions game, Fallout Brotherhood of Steel is another game in the exact same vein.  It got pretty trashed, but I thought it was alright.

Haha thanks, if I ever beat all of the others I'll look into it.  But I do have a big backlog of amazing RPGs all the way from snes to Switch so probably never, lol.

  11. So I want to make sure I'm saving my games the right way in Super NT.  There is a message about a warning of not going back to the settings screen.  So I started 7th Saga, saved it at the inn.  Then next time I started it wasn't there.  However I started over again, went to the inn real quick, made sure not to go back into the settings menu the whole time I was playing.  It was there the next boot up.

I am running JB 6.9.  So is that the only issue?  Don't go back into the settings menu if you want to actually save your game?

  12. And I don't want something bulky like OSSC.  I tried that, looked sharp.  But I am going the less bulk route.  I use component and it looks not terrible.  But when you compare it to Super NT or Sega MG with those super sharp pixels, it does look bad in comparison.  Are there any new fangled contraptions that can help, even if a little?

Some of my fondest video game memories are playing Baldur's Gate years ago!  Been tempted to dive back in.

did you play any of the others?  Champions, bgda2?  I think the OG is still the best but the others are worth playing.
