I am still trading xbox/xbox 360 games, but my list is probably quite a bit out of date, and I won't be back in town for another week. The 360 has been a fun console to collect - there is a large library and most of them are still pretty cheap.

Okay, I’m compiling a list myself of what I’m after. It doesn’t look like I have much in the ways of double, only a few but a notable one I have is a marvel ultimate alliance platinum with the bonus disc. Figure that’s a good bit of trade bait for something else up there on 360.

Well, I’m probably going to post this on Reddit too just to see people both lose their collective minds, and call me a liar, but I just got the pick-up of a life time.

For just under $1,000 I got all of these games (plus several I’ve sold already in the past few days, plus a brand new PS5.)  The games are probably about $1.50/ea and I’d say that are 30% sealed.

The scoop is a local thrift shop received a massive pallet of modern titles from a Wal-Mart distribution center.  These are all customer returns and from spot checking discs (and reading the notes on the labels) most people didn’t want them and that was the reason for the returns! I’ve not found a scratched disc yet, either. Anyway, I bought a bunch at $5/each a few days ago and today I told them to name a price on the rest.  At $500 for what you see hear, I couldn’t say no.

Boom, instant PS4/5/XBox Series-X collection unlocked!

95% of these are going up for sale.  To recoup costs, after I sort through them I’ll likely put CIBs in medium priority mail boxes and $1-auction the boxes on eBay.  I’ll pull out the better condition/sealed items and sell them in lots of 3-5 or individually depending on value.

Seriously though, I like to give you guys first dibs. If you send me your list of games you want for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series-X. I will set them for you guys and we can strike a really good deal.  I could be open to trades later but I have to dig myself out of this $1,000 hole first.  My wife is typically skeptical of my… business moves but even she could see that all these games for $1.25-1.75 was a steal.

That’s pretty crazy, I need a copy of need for speed unbound for xbox and possibly atomic heart. Prefer to be cib as I plan on playing them. Once you get them organized post pics maybe something else would interest me.

Snapped a pic of the video game nook I set up with my loose NES, SNES, and Genesis collections.

The real reason I’m here though is that I was investigating the prospect of snagging the Dragon Warrior cart from my  nice complete copy and switching it out with my more beat up childhood copy.  Reason being that I picked up an extra box  awhile back and I wanted to sell it.  I don’t want to sell my childhood copy, I also don’t want to sell the copy my boy is playing on, so my logical conclusion was I would just steal the cart from my complete one since that DW would be the very last  piece of my collection to go.  Yeah, no.  I couldn’t do it.  Looks like I just boxed my childhood copy then lol.

Anyways, when I was in there I found this  receipt from 1990 I forgot was in there.  Love finding these with games.

Receipts add such a flashback and nostalgia feel, love them. Wish I could find a stash of them one day would love to add some to my games.

  4. Got another weird question for y’all.

I recently picked up an Alien 3 for NES and the sleeve inside seems like a repro but I’ve heard in the past but haven’t confirmed if this is just the normal sleeves for these later LJN games or not.

As always thanks for the help.

I just happened to find this while scouring eBay. It seems to be the original owner, and all the inserts came with the game when it was opened.

Pretty sure this should have a poster.

No, it just said it included the inserts. It seems to have the original shrinkwrap, so I assume the inserts could possibly be original and not bought separately.

Thanks for the heads up and it does appear to be correct but as it’s always been said they aren’t going to start accepting assumptions at this point with all the games that have been opened already. It just taints the data.

Side note I did get excited to see an update to this thread, thought trifecta opened another one!

I can confirm that my copy also has this harder, more "crap quality" foam?

I mean, it's styrofoam at the end of the day, but something about it just feels of lesser quality.

Okay thank you for confirming, when I first started collecting I had bought five pieces of “replacement” foam not knowing any better. Since then those have been tossed. This simpsons foam reminded me of that at first so I wanted to double check. As always thank you for the info.

Does anyone know of any other publishers that use wonky foam? I know the tengen foam is different, I’m sure all the unlicensed was.

  8. Hello all, curious if anyone can assist with confirming what styrofoam and bags came in later print acclaim games. I just picked up a Simpsons Bartman Meets Radioactive Man box/manual and it came with what looks to be a repro styrofoam block but I wanted to confirm as I know so publishers used some weird pieces at times.

Here’s the styrofoam that came with it, also any help on what bags came in these games would be appreciated.

Left piece is what came in the box, right piece is just an extra piece of oem styrofoam I have stashed away to show as a reference.

Been awhile since I posted but I got this minty NES-101 complete in box on eBay. I don’t think the dog bone controller was ever used! It’s in great shape and no cigarette smell!

Very nice, I’ve been after the bags for this set but haven’t been successful as of yet.

Thanks, I never actively went after the screw variants but grabbed them in the wild every time I found one I didn’t have. The only one of around 60 I ended up with I didn’t buy at a local mom and pop shop was Goonies 2 that I snagged off of NintendoAge from a buddy. Truly had no idea this one was rare until today 😂. I know I passed on a Gotcha as well at $15 because it was double the 3 screw.

Haha on the gotcha, that’s one I hope to find one day. I can’t pay what they’re going for so I hope to find at a shop like a goonies 5 screw dupe I found a few months ago.
