This whole situation could have been avoided if you did.

I could see if he listed it at way below market and hurriedly clicking on your phone, but judging from the other one still up (that has an H-seam) it seems to have been market priced?

The other one has significant crushing and judging by the fact that it hasn’t sold, it is not “market priced.”

We can sit here and debate the past, like how if the seller had not listed it incorrectly then this wouldn’t have happened, but stuff happens! I will certainly try to be more careful in the future. We live and learn.

How is it not as described?

    What were you expecting?

It was listed as brand new.

    A brand new copy.

As a seller you should know what you are selling. "Maybe" doesn't cut it! I would never do this as a seller and I expect better of others. I will be pursuing a full refund. It's possible the seller will try to get their 15% restock fee, but it's likely that would come out of eBay's pocket, not mine.

  3. I reached out to the eBay seller about returning it and they threatened me with a 15% restocking fee. I went through the INAD return process on eBay and got a return label right away. Should I be worried or does this mean that eBay will give me the full refund? Regardless I am putting this seller on blast: steer clear of "585collectiblesandtech." Clearly their user description on eBay does not match their behavior.

    More first party Wii games!

I don't want to spend a lot of time talking about these games, mainly because I either never played them or didn't finish them back in the day. Though I can talk about a few of them!

Punch Out was announced out of nowhere back in the day, and it ended up being the best game Nintendo put out in 2009. I absolutely loved it back then, and I still love it now. While it'd be nice to see Punch Out come back someday, I'd like to think that the ending to this game kind of solidified it as the final entry in the series. For those of you who don't know, the ending scene only occurs during a mode called "Mac's Last Stand" after all of the game's fighters have been defeated. You battle boxers randomly until you lose three times, at which point...

    Little Mac retires.

Awesome game, awesome love letter to the series, awesome finale.

WarioWare was a series that built itself up very quickly, with five games coming out over the span of four years! WarioWare Smooth Moves felt like the perfect culmination of everything the series had made prior, and in my opinion was the last good WarioWare game. I often feel like people who love the series are simply unwilling to let the WarioWare cast fade away into irrelevance, and put up with mediocre games just to see them.

Whatever the state of the series is now, WarioWare Smooth Moves was a damn fun game, and featured the cast at its best. While the series isn't exactly known for being robust, it's still a great game to play through every time.

Endless Ocean was a genuinely magical experience when I first played it in 2008, and I've always wanted to go back and replay it. I knew that I'd have to let a long amount of time pass before revisiting it though, since so many incredible moments still stand out in my mind to this day. If you're at all enraptured by the wonders of the ocean, this is a game you absolutely must play. The sequel was unfortunately not very good, but the original is a game I hold very close to my love of Nintendo.

That's all for me this time! 👋

These are all gems! Very good choices

Awesome haul as always! I've always wondered about people who collect food... after a certain amount of time it breaks down. Then what??

Yeah exactly. And I don’t trust most food products to be 100% sealed or to stay 100% sealed. The last thing I need is to have bugs coming into my game room because they could smell my vintage Zelda cereal. And what if it’s something that ferments or explodes? Would be really gross.

I guess worst case I would put it in a heavy duty Ziploc bag but I’d rather not bother.

  6. Here's some new stuff!

Nintendo Power issue 270 sealed with Pokemon CD

    X4VejQx.jpg

    Just Sing! headset bundle sealed

    GvdZOJX.jpg

    These two strategy guides

    XqHG5dM.jpg

More games, finally tracked down the Blaster Master Zero trilogy through trades

    JDykpaL.jpg

    Some random stuff

    dKpjk7l.jpg

And this Lego Super Mario store display from Target... it still works! It didn't come with the adapter but it still has the instructions secured to the back. Turns out a standard Arcade1Up adapter works perfectly with it!

  7. Some recent hunts!

Found a pile of late run Nintendo Power issues on Mercari for about $66 shipped, this just happened to be in there:

    0oKioP8.jpg

It's a sealed issue 270 with the Pokemon CD. The rest of the issues are not sealed and I will be letting them go and just keeping this.

Got these two guides for just under $30 shipped, the Ms. Pac Man Maze Madness guide is uncommon and both are in really good shape:

    XqHG5dM.jpg

This was an eBay find for just under $17 shipped, it is sealed:

    GvdZOJX.jpg

And lastly I got three pickups from the same local collector I've been working with for a while. Firstly, the Arcade1Up Final Fight cab (also comes with 1944, Ghosts n Goblins, and Strider) with riser for $250, hooked this up and started playing 1944 and my son got really interested so he joined in and we ended up going through all 15 stages and completing the game in one go:

    FGxh2qK.jpg

I also got this Lego Super Mario store display for $250, it works!

    1iaTyI1.jpg

And then I paid $100 for this pile of random stuff, it is mostly empty boxes, some with manuals, and then there's some oddities thrown in. There are no games here! But lots of cool stuff:

    jqnNyEb.jpg

Nintendo Shower Power sealed, Yoshi happy meal toy from 2017 also sealed, Super Mario Duck Tape also sealed, the Super Mario Maker promotional rubik's cube which I almost bought off eBay at one point, a PS2 console box and a zapper original gray box.

    OIHGP7R.jpg

All these boxes, some with manuals... there's a couple here I want to keep and complete with carts...

    oIbyJVL.jpg

More empty boxes... some have trays... the Game Boy one is really dirty but worth restoring 🙂

    And for the finishing touch,

    YZ3w4OW.jpg

3 (or technically 4) sealed boxes of Super Mario cereal in an original Super Mario Cereal shipping box. I really don't like collecting food so I will be selling these...

    That's all for now!

@Galdius Must be nice getting those variants since they're from your area.  Love that rally game, isn't that the hard to find Konami rally title?  if it is, it's a shame as it's really good, price blows, much like sega rally on gba is toxic priced too and it's not so good as it's designed like backwards how the display works...it's weird.

International Rally is as good as any GBC racing game can be, so… just ok. Top Gear Pocket 2 is better.

  9. Two restorations!

    1. My launch model joycon rail stopped working, the lights wouldn't come on and the shoulder buttons wouldn't respond. Turns out the ribbon cable was creased inside and needed to be replaced. Turned out to not be so bad! And the cable only costs a few bucks.

A video showing how it wouldn't work with the case closed (when the cable was bent): https://imgur.com/1CqFP3G

The old cable with the crease:

    The new cable installed:

A video of it working again! https://imgur.com/Ph3LDIf

    2. Got a damaged copy of Flower Sun and Rain. Cleaned it up as much as possible with Bestine:

    K2lBBSN.jpg

This would be much nicer if someone hadn't tried removing the sticker in the first place! But oh well!

  10. Not too much coming in these days. I'm actually going to have to downsize my collection a lot (story for another day). But here's what's new:

    Ixm3Le8.jpg

Got a couple amiibo in a trade 🙂

    GOb06c1.jpg

Got Flower Sun and Rain + Bomberman Land 2 in a private deal for $175 combined. Flower Sun and Rain has some damage but it looks a lot better since I cleaned it up. Found Dokapon Monster Hunter for $90 on Mercari. It's not mint but I think that's a good price for it. Got the Light Boy from the freebie thread and my Andro Dunos 2 finally arrived.

    That's all for now!

If I'm not mistaken I think I finally have all the US releases of this series, I don't think the strictly limited stuff is US anyways so I don't have that. The third snes game isn't a game though, just a box that game with my Analogue NT but what better time huh?

    20220826_204335.jpg

Yeah Strictly Limited is a German company, that’s where the releases come from. There’s actually a fun fact there… in Germany, you do not need to have a parental rating on your games unless you plan to sell them in brick and mortar stores. Since Strictly limited sells online, direct to consumer, there’s no rating on the cover art.

I'm thinking about the quality and general feel of value for money.

It doesn't matter if it's my favourite game, if the "premium" version is just some flimsy cardboard with a partial soundtrack cd with 5 tracks and some stickers they were gonna give away for free anyway, I don't think that's really doing a great job celebrating it. 🙂

Sure, most of the junk you get in CEs is usually useless crap either way, but I've bought many of them where you really felt like it was something special still. The one Fangamer made for Deltarune is incredible, and so is the one for the launch PS4 version of Dragon Quest XI.

Fangamer CE’s are really good yep. LRG’s are all over the place. Some are good. I liked the Scott Pilgrim one. Some are cheap feeling and pointless like the Jumanji one. Nintendo’s CEs are good. Capcom’s CEs are terrible. The flimsiest possible cardboard.

  13. Some new stuff!

    cnRjhDi.jpg

Got the Cytus Alpha and Deemo reprints and picked up a Story of Seasons Trio of Towns Capybara because I love the pre-order bonus animal plushies.

    6Gpe2vr.jpg

Bought some stuff from @Tyree_Cooper and it was shipped by sea! Here's Hong Kong Wii Play, Taiwan NSMB and Korea Wii Fit 🙂

    Rn4hOYv.jpg

Also from Tyree, Toro Let's Party for PS3 and a 19xx notebook. And then from a recent trade, I got the Splatoon 2 art book, Pokken art cel pre-order bonus and Metal Gear Solid 3D.

    YloMGT2.jpg

My Cotton Reboot CE finally arrived after a long wait, don't know if I want to keep it though... but it does come with a lot of nice stuff!

    8VxfUnk.jpg

And I got a stack of games from Limited Run 🙂
