Cool! That definitely holds water to your theory! I wonder if they were going to release this at the same time as Dinobasher but CJ made it into production where Dinobasher didn't? They cancelled both but since CJ was already made, they sold it in the area that produced better sales for them: Europe.
Also sorry @Craigly1234 for hijacking your thread!
Don't be! Love learning about this stuff and theorizing unproven history with stuff like this! I just want the answer as well LOL but we may never know

As you can see with my discussion with CodysGameRoom, there are no perfect answers. I do not claim to be an expert but, honestly, if you start going down this rabbit hole, even a little, you'll have a tough time getting definitive answers. I mean, you might find with good certainty that a specific variant was released in the US, but that doesn't mean that other regions didn't look the exact same and, heaven's no, there might even be a chance they took the same art from the US release and produced very-similar labels. I can't say that for sure, but it's not impossible.
Man. Game gear is wild. Thanks to both of you for the tips with these! I feel much less stressed out about it now honestly just knowing specific variants were released in the US so I can try to match up with those.

For me it's persona 5 the royal. When I played vanilla p5 I was having a lot of tough personal struggles, but that game was an excellent escape. It was also my first playstation platinum trophy, and the only game I've ever played twice in a row because of how much I enjoyed it. I sunk 200 hours into the original and I can't wait to do it again.

Probably a mint complete copy of Rayearth for US Saturn. And I was using an OSSC and RGB connection. The game cost me $350. It's probably $500+ now as I see US saturn RPGs have gone up again recently.
Best game on the saturn, and yeah it's definitely gotten more expensive again

I've used my big box pokemon box before, but that's not really a game lmao. CIB earthbound for me, but I'm playing panzer dragoon saga right now and that's floating around the same price I believe so those will be tied soon

Hey all. Been actively going for a complete loose cart game gear set. I haven't acquired any code masters games yet. But as far as I can tell most if not all of the NTSC copies appear identical to their PAL counterparts. Is there any way to tell if something like cosmic space head, micro machines, cj elephant, ect are NTSC or PAL? Or are the carts literally the exact same inside and out since they're reigon free? Like if I import a Sampras tennis will it count towards a US set?
Thanks for any help on this!

My father bought earthbound brand new, didn't like it and got rid of it within a week. Wish he kept it so I didn't have to pay an arm an a leg for it as an adult lmao

I'm hoping to finish my 3ds set this year. I'm about 100 games away with only one super rare game left. I'm also going to for sure finish my loose n64 set since I'm only 7 away with no games over 30 bucks left

Two things I want more than anything are the gamecube duo pack (monkey ball and sonic heroes) and an earthbound nes prototype. Both basically impossible to get but a man can dream!

I finally got a copy of Mega Man for the Game Gear, which came with a copy of the manual. It was an auction ending on Christmas Eve and I manged to get the pair for cheaper than just the cartridge. It arrived yesterday. The front cover was torn off and the seller didn't mention that it was filled with his original, childhood art on almost every, single page. I need to make a post dedicated to the manual alone.
It was my initial intent to restore the manual, sell it and try to recoup the costs but after I saw all of the art the seller had drawn when he was probably 6 or 7, there's no way I'm getting rid of it. I love that stuff. Best buy I've made all year.
So you're the one who outbid me LOL you'll definitely have to post pictures of that manual, I love seeing that kinda stuff as well!

I'm also looking for gamecube manuals for ribbit king and goblin commander if anyone has those and are willing to part with them.

None on Nintendo age.
In the wild, probably when I got a Hitachi hisaturn at a record store. Still spent about 100 bucks but finding one randomly locally was super neat
On ebay I think my best get was a sealed sonic adventure 2 pack for gamecube for 300. Box is a little rough but considering some opened ones have sold for over a grand I'm more than hally with what I spent knowing it's sealed!

I've finished two sets and I worked my way to the middle as well. For wii u the last game was axiom verge, although I actually finished it the day before that game released with the voice lol for gamecube my last game was kao the kangaroo 2, just happened to be the last game I needed and could find locally because I don't mind going the ebay route while collecting, but I like finishing off sets in person

Thanks dood!! great resource to all Gamecube fans!
Do you collect other regions? If no, would it be ok I compile a Japan exclusive list? I'm working on collecting for it and would like to contribute.
Another resource I would like is gba linkable games, what game does what with the gba.
I know they're out there but it's be cool to have a little treasure trove of gcn knowledge here on vgs.
I've got a japanese exclusive list going, I'm going for a complete set for that. My issue is deciding whether or not to Include test versions and pre order bonus discs like castle of druaga
