While on Game Gear, I feel most of the pricier games are games you would be more likely to enjoy playing
I agree. Imo none of the games above the 100 dollar range are even fun on n64 minus bomberman, as for the harder to find game gear games, they are pretty fun (at least for the pricier ones I have)

I have n64 and am currently working on game gear, about 40 away. Personally I think game gear is more fun because there more unknown and "hidden gems" for the system, and also it's more challenging to find the games not on ebay. Plus game gear is WAY more affordable at the moment. But of course at the end of the day you should collect for what you enjoy most:)

As far as I know they were never actually sealed in any way, and I'm looking for a game to be absolutely for sure brand new to get graded, but have no way to tell if something is legit brand new. Any tips or advice would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Yeah there's no set value because there arent really any exact records of sales for this thing separate from the normal cover.
That being said if you're looking to sell PM me and I'd be willing to work out a deal! I'm looking for this myself

I'm 500+ games from a complete set. And at this point it's a pipe dream.
For what its worth NTSC is 418 games so you HAVE to be closer than 500 for a full set if you live in the states

Labels are always a giveaway and the missing numbers in it, but in the end you have to open all the carts. Anyone who doesn't open them will end up sooner or later getting hosed.
Exactly this. That's why I have no worries, and in all honesty, at least for gba, there arent THAT many games that people seem to take outside of pokemon/zelda/mario and the two real pricey ones

Bump!

There’s a lot of people on Facebook groups trying to price gouge games. Tons of people saying everything is rare and scaring each other into needing to “get it now before it’s too late”
every time someone makes a post like that on those Facebook groups the games almost always go up in price. The GameCube collector scene is fuckin silly right now lol

$800 for a big box pokemon box for gamecube. Sells for double that now and I only got mine 6 months ago so I made the purchase at the perfect time lol

This is absolutely nuts. I can't imagine spending that kind of money on a players choice bundle. Why is this so rare anyway? Store exclusive?
So little is known about this pack that no one knows if it was store exclusive. This thing barely even has a record of existing lmao

No I meant the sleeves of the games inside.
Oh sorry! I’m assuming no. The 2 packs for just monkey ball 1&2 and sonic adventure 1&2 don’t. There’s no photos of this box set open but we can assume it’s the same as the other box sets

Started at $200 with BO. I have a bank account I use for game collecting. I put a hold on using extra funds to buy games while I've been working to get a new job. If I could have literally gotten the seller to do about $5 cheaper than their final offer, I would have gotten that game. I'd have no collecting funds, but I'd finally have a game I'd been looking for, for a long time.
You should check out the sellers other items. It's a bunch rare GG stuff.
Ohhh seller link please!

I wish it was me but it wasn’t! Completely missed the listing. I have 0 cod masters games so far but I’m at 170 total for the set so far so progress!
how much were they asking?

Really? The sleeves aren't marked as "Not for resale" or something?
Nope! Outer box has nothing like that on it

As far as I know, and am aware, everyone in the GameCube community has basically agreed on the full set being the 558 black label games, no cardboard double packs or anything like that. I think variant collectors are going insane for it because it’s the ONE every variant collector is missing. I know multiple people who want it and have talked to a few people who are ready to drop up to 8K on it. I capped out at 2 grand, and I was only going to find it by selling Saturn games for it

This wasnt released in PAL regions too was it? Because I would need to get this as well.
I've never heard of this as the rarest game on the console. Interesting....
It wasn’t! There are plenty of rare pal double and even triple packs, but no Sega ones. But there were Activision, Ubisoft, and others for pal regions

Yeah, seriously. I kind of wish I had got more into GC collecting than Saturn when I did. (Sorry Saturn fans.) Anyway, I checked in on the market last week, and I'm actually quite shocked at how many games are in the $30-40 range, and how much 1st party games goes for. I mean, I know everything goes through waves, but GC is legit expensive. I guess the GC was truly swamped by the PS2 and XBox.
I Completed my set last year, and Legit over like 100 games have doubled or tripled in price since I got them. There’s multiple sports and racing games I got 5-10 bucks that agave bids in the triple digits. It’s like everyone and their mother decided to start going for a full set all at once

Thankfully I have no plans to collect variants for any system other than the NES. I'll just grab a copy of each game and save myself about $4000.
GameCube is a bitch to collect for now. That’s the smart thing to do

I'm guessing that more people are online looking at auctions and that the stimulus money might play into it as well. Also on the number of bids. Realistic prob in the 3-4k range? Idk but in for the show.
Me too! I cant justify it. At the end if the day its cardboard, and I won't die without it as much as I want it haha

That price is crazy already. I sold one maybe 2 years ago? Offered it to legit Gamecube collectors at the time and most of them were around $500 on it. Took an offer above that but nowhere near the current prices. I'm not yet convinced it is above and beyond the rarest of the 3 packs. I'd say Sonic Adventure is certainly the most common but Monkey Ball Duo is not easy either. All it takes it a bit of a drought and it will spike up too.
I’m convinced it’s the rarest because there’s usually at least 1 or 2 of the sonic and monkey ball one at one time, but This is only the second duo pack I’ve ever seen for sale in my 6 years of GameCube collecting. Maybe I’m wrong, but it’s insanely hard to find either way for sure. I wish I could have been the one to buy it from you LOL I’d gladly pay a grand or more for it. But not the 3000 it’ll likely go for

How rare is this and why is it THAT rare? I mean, anything beyond it being a late-run game or something? This is a third party title and it's a Player's Choice. There has to be an additional reason of why it's so rare.
And since it's a dual-pack, I wouldn't consider this to be needed for a full set, so I have my doubts it's for full set collecting. I think many would be of the same opinion as me.
I don’t consider it to be for a set, but there are three Sega 2 packs and this is the most elusive one, no one knows why. It’s just impossible to find and people have spent years looking for it

Noiiiice, I'm going to guess around the 5k mark.
Which would be funny cuz one was up for sale for that much last year and no one went for it

The duo pack for GameCube has been put up for auction for less than 24 hours and is already at $2500 dollars. With 9 days left. Insanity.
how high do you think it could get? This is something multiple people have been trying to get for years so I wonder how much someone is going to be willing to pay to finally have it after all these years. As far as I know it’s only the second public auction of the game, and the first one never sold/was taken down early.
