  1. Does anyone think all-digital platform providers would do something to games a la what Netflix did in censoring Back to the Future 2? Or what about Disney Plus removing an episode of The Simpsons? What if the game you "bought" on Steam got a required patch that removed part of the game that had an expired license, or something deemed "offensive"?

  2. Secret of Mana. I adore the music, the gameplay is a ton of fun with so many different weapons and spells (not to mention three characters to switch between at any time), and the co-op is amazingly fun if you have two people to play through it with you. Despite a few bugs it's always a ton of fun to replay.

John D of A1U clarified the current situation with the rights on the NBA Jam cabinet:

I wonder which players. No doubt it's a huge pain for them to try to get the rights, which is why I'm surprised they've done as well as they have with those numbers. Hope they can lock down the last few...

Wrestle War is a 2 player game I believe. I grew up playing it on the Dreamcast (Sega Smash Pack)

I'm going to be very disappointed if they don't do a 4-player cabinet. I have the TMNT cabinet and it's pretty awesome, so hoping they've continued to improve their quality with the NBA Jam and Sega ones. The NBA Jam one looks to have a light-up marquee, which is certainly one of the things I wish were a little better about the TMNT cabinet along with a bigger screen and a bit wider control panel.

  5. So is Wrestle Wars (on the Sega cabinet) 4-player? I guess probably. Wish they would include more 4-player games on it though, since Revenge of Death Adder is 4-player so they will certainly need to make a 4-player cabinet...right? I hope they aren't cheaping out and doing a 2-player only version.

Yes, I am waiting with bated breath to see what the rosters in these NBA games will be

It'll be interesting to see what they do. I'm assuming they keep the original rosters. That included Shaquille O'Neal in NBA Jam, but not in Hangtime. Michael Jordan was excluded due to some licensing thing or whatever. Hoping they won't have trouble on this front. Of course, if they really wanted to knock it out of the park they could include more players including modern-day players, but I don't think that is likely.

  7. Definitely agree on the SMS, TG-16, and Wii U. The TG-16 you could play portably as well, with the TurboExpress! Just such a great system and so sad it didn't succeed in the U.S., we would have gotten translations for a lot of games that remain Japan-only.

I'd add to the list the Vectrex. A unique system with striking vector graphics, a great controller, and some pretty fun games! If you haven't experienced it's like no other out there and may take you back to the days of vector-based arcade machines.

  8. Hi folks, I have two promo items I'm thinking of getting rid of and I can't find anything on them online in terms of sales.

First is a Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles floor sticker. They would stick these to the ground in game stores to promote the game. This one is unused:

Next we have a plastic banner used to promote the PS2 game Jet Li Rise to Honor:

Again, can't find anything like this sold recently, so would be interested in your thoughts on value. Thanks much!

This is something that worries me too. Just picked up the Spyro Reignited Trilogy for the Switch and 2/3 of the game has to be downloaded. Having physical media that doesn't contain the entire game rubs me the wrong way.

Another issue I have is, I only buy disc-based games if they have the case and manual. But sometimes I'll encounter a 360 game with just the information sheet. Are there any lists out there that say which games of recent gens didn't come with instructions?

There are a lot of them. I don't know much about PS3/360, but many Wii U games came without a printed manual, including Nintendo's own games after the first couple of waves, as they deemed a digital manual sufficient.

  10. Crazy to see NA just wiped off the face of the Earth like that! You would think they would leave the old site up until they had at least a few features in place. The GoCollect site looks terrible and on that evidence I doubt they care at all. At best maybe we'll get access to some of the old databases, etc. Glad I downloaded my collection lists a couple days ago!

All those who had the foresight to make this place, thank you for your efforts 👍
