While I'm not really interested in most of these new cabinets and pinball machines, I'm really happy to see them doing well enough to expand into these different models.

They will never sell gutted copies at a lower price. It's their way of doing things. They will go out of business first.
Well they do sometimes. I've received a 10% discount in the past for this exact situation for complaining that the game was no longer "new." It's rare and completely dependent on who is working, but they can do it. It's just a simple price adjustment at the register.

Also, I see that several Vintage Stocks are listed in Missouri and a few other states, but I don't see one listed for Fairview Heights, IL in the St. Clair Mall. To the best of my knowledge, this is the newest one, so probably why it didn't make the list, but it's there.

Sadly, Game Trader II in St. Charles, MO closed down a little over a year ago. The former owner still has a major role in organizing the annual MO Game Con and sells games at that event, but the store is no more.

I honestly don't see it happening anytime soon, but even if it does, I'm pretty comfortable saying that it will be done in a way that people who don't upgrade will still have access to the full library of games similar to the way Sony handled the PS4 Pro.
If they handle it that way, I will have no issues. I just doubt that I would upgrade anytime soon.

I’ve wanted the PSVR for a long time and the VR titles seem like a nice subset to collect.
PS4 VR games have lots of low print runs, and lots of games that get digital only releases in the US, but physical copies in PAL areas. Whether or not that is "nice" or "fun" to collect for is dependent on the individual, but I'm just putting that out there.

I've had the PS4 VR for a little over a year now and I've really enjoyed it. I've had motion sickness with a few games, but it's been rare and in most cases it been on games where the VR was tacked on at the last minute or added later. Most games developed for VR from the ground up work much better and rarely cause motion sickness.
I've never understood why some people complain about the wires. Nearly everything gets tucked away behind the TV along with the other wires from you other video game systems. The only remaining wire is the one running from the VR unit to your headset. Would it be nice if that part was wireless? Sure, but one wire isn't a huge mess. I'm very interested to see the improvements for the next generation of VR.

It could be different with Gamestop, but typically the store sells off it's current inventory. Store closing sales typically aren't where you get the best deals at first. The store will jack everything back up to full price before applying the store-wide discount. You usually need to wait until the store has raised the discount, but by then most of the best stuff is gone.
More or less what I expected. It's been a long time since I've found a good deal at any store closing liquidation sale.

I can hear that video without even hitting play.

I've been playing the Link's Awakening remake since Christmas after getting my son a Switch. I play in the evenings after he has gone to bed. As of this weekend, I've completed all dungeons, and I'm ready to complete the game. I'm just trying to decide if I want to try and 100% the game before I do. I'm damn close to having everything, so I might try to just find those last few hearts, sea shells and chamber stones. Fantastic game. I really enjoyed it, and this is coming from someone who didn't play the original beyond a 20 minute sample.
After Link's Awakening, I'm not sure if I will move onto Mario Odyssey or Yoshi's Crafted World.

Nothing close to me, and only two in the St. Louis area on the entire list.
So I'm curious, when the close a store down, are the clearance sales any good, or do they just ship the good inventory to the remaining stores and just discount the stuff no one wants anyway?

Quick note on the original post. Blue Lightning would be for the Jaguar CD. For the regular Jaguar, it's got to be Cybermorph, or if we aren't counting pack-in-games, then it would be either Doom or Wolfenstein 3D.

10. Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017)
Is this some kind of fucking joke? Is today fucking April first?

From a quick glance, that was the only thing on the list that I couldn't comprehend. I was going to say something similar, but I've shit on that movie so much, I don't feel like wasting my time with it anymore.

dont be that person. effin annoying.
We arent using the Julian calendar or Gregorian calendar as an official decade counter. We are using a symbolic decade. We dont count 1990 as part of the 80s because that is stupid
Ive heard people try to make this argument about 1000 times in the last few days. Its not original or clever. Everytime its mentioned all you hear is either nothing but an eyeroll or ..."would you just shut up"
You also forgot to mention that he got the years wrong anyway. The current decade is 2011 through 2020.

Just noticed no Mission Impossibles, which is surprising considered how universally well-received they were
That's one of my favorite movie franchises of all time. Besides part II, all of them are fantastic movies that I can re-watch multiple times.

I still remember buying a CIB Super Metroid from my neighbor for $2. I also bought several other SNES games for $2 each, but Metroid was definitely the best deal from that many years later. At the time though, everyone was happy with the deal.

Considering the high failure rate of the Jaguar CD, just about any Jaguar CD game is probably more common than the system itself, but Blue Lightning is probably at the top of that list.

Either Star Wars Arcade or Doom for the 32x

I don't see as much in the thrift stores either, but don't forget, that more and more people are looking for that stuff. It's possible that just as much is coming and going through some of those stores, but it doesn't last as long because the number of interested parties visiting the store is up.
Overall, I would be willing to bet that it's a mix of both, less stuff coming in, and more people buying what is there.
I still hit up my local Goodwills, and I tend to find stuff that I will end up buying at least once per month, but it's probably been a year or two since I've found something really worth talking about.

Not that it matters anymore, but Memories of Celceta is compatible with the PS TV, so at least you can play it on the big screen if you want to. I started the game, but didn't get too far into it.

I didn't know about the Clubs section until just recently, so I've missed this completely.
The PS1 is probably my favorite system and the only system I collect for where I would actually like to complete the set someday. That goal seems pretty far away right now. At my last check, I had around 525 PS1 games, of which about 475 are unique titles which is only slightly more than 1/3 of the set.
I also have large collections of the other PS systems, but when it comes to PS2/3/4, I'm usually only interested in games that I want to play.

Paypal is 2.9 percent plus 30 cents
Ebay plus paypal isnt 15 percent
For me its 11.9 percent plus 30 cents. You arent going to find a cheaper payment processor. Just be thankful you arent a business and have to purchase credit processors yourself. Just be thankful they took care of that for you.
I came to say the same thing except I'm pretty sure I pay 12.9% plus $.30. I'm guessing you get a discount due to being a larger seller. I only sell a few hundred dollars worth of stuff a year at most.
Regardless, the Paypal fee is pretty straight forward.

So while the Switch I bought for Christmas is technically for my son, unsurprisingly, I have more gaming hours logged with it so far.
He has been playing Mario Kart 8, but I've been playing the Link's Awakening remake. I have to say that I'm loving Link's Awakening. This is coming from someone who hasn't played more than an hour of the original game, but I think it has the perfect balance of difficulty and puzzles. I'm guessing the remake is probably a little easier with more hints, but I'm ok with that. My adult schedule doesn't allow as much free time which makes it difficult to search every little thing.

I would say a 10 based on the fact that just the song Everlong is enough to make them a 9.

Definitely. I managed to pickup my Centipede cab for $70. They also had Asteroids for $70 at the same time, but I couldn't justify the space for another.
