I think what he meant by "your local spot" is your local game store... unless your store also sells groceries. That's both cool and a hard-to-accept pivot for game stores to make it these days. Still, seeing groceries would be a better experience to me than seeing all those Pop Vinyls littering stores these days.
I did keep it vague on purpose. I'd be all about a $100 King Soopers credit!

Pretty sure my favorite technique is microwaving. I mean, if we're going by shear numbers.

Meh. Watched when it was relevant and I don't care enough to see it again. And Kevin Spacey and all that.
From a strictly artistic perspective, Spacey's acting is pretty great. Keyser Söze ftw.
But he kinda always plays the same smug smarmy I'm-smarter-than-thou psychopathic character. Which is pretty much how I perceive him in real life. Anyway, he's pretty much done.
I wonder if any filmmakers would take a gamble on him for cheap. Like half scale? You'd probably get a great performance and some instant notoriety. Maybe in another 10~15 years.

You could have just asked me to give you the one you gave me and it would have been “free”!
No way. You're keeping that.

Wasn't Blade Buster designed to be a caravan shooter though? Basically it's like a NWC cartridge, only as a shooter.
When reading Glove's assessment of the game compared to the other recent shmups coming out, I immediately thought to myself that some of the criticisms were likely because he was comparing his preference for caravan shooters to regular shooters. I mean, if I prefer the setup of the NWC cartridge, Super Mario or Rad Racer by themselves would pale in comparison...
The fact that its a competition caravan shooter doesn't diminish the quality of the game. I'd put in on the level of Super Bat Puncher. It's not a full length LP. More of an EP.
...I'll throw in a vote for Super Bat Puncher while I'm at it.

would consider them all to be inferior
I can't agree more. Blade Buster is exceptional. The only criticism is probably its length, but that is certainly part of the charm for me.

I just don't like Mega Man style games.
I'd argue that it's a little more of a Metroid style game. A Megatroidvania as it were.

What is the gameplay like?
Pretty standard point-n-click adventure. You make your way through all of the scenes which are essentially lifted straight from the movie and animated Terry Gilliam style. It's pretty funny.

I almost forgot. I also own the PC game!

10. Any nerd worth their salt will tell you the same. I can see why it's the "overrated" Python movie but it legit deserves the praise. I've watched a ton (all?) of the Flying Circus and all the movies, and I can always rewatch Holy Grail.

Fuck that. I respect it. Tunic reeks of secret depth. But my old ass has no patience for that shit. I totally internetted that page and most of the fairies. It was honestly pissing me off near the end. And the final boss fight was too hard.

Tunic is an 8.49 for me. I'm not quite to the point that everyone should play it, but I could be swayed upon a replay. Highly recommended regardless.
Interested in all the rest. We'll see if I get around to any of them.

Just wrapped up Tunic. Gotta say it lives up to the hype even if I was a little reserved going in. Deliberately designed to drop you into the world with zero context, it genuinely feels like the first time you powered up the Legend of Zelda uninformed by decades of sequels. Obviously it's derivative but Tunic is unique enough to stand on it's own.
It definitely has a Fez vibe to it as well. Not quite so whimsical, Tunic has a more serious tone. But the developer explicitly spoke on the influence.
Totally worth owning a physical copy and the game almost demands it. Highly recommended.

I probably have more regrets when I don't buy stuff. Prices just go up for the most part. I scoffed at a $62 Duck Tales 2 some 10 or 12 years ago. Whoops.
After all, it's only money. But I'm certainly not spending $300+ today. *Scoff scoff.
Update: I regret nothing! My years of scoffs are justified with a BIG THANKS to @T-Pac.
Dude sent a surprise package the other day. Lo and behold, I now have my very own copy of Duck Tales 2 (au français)! Along with a T-Pac original Robot Scrooge McDuck drawing. So cool.

If you beat the Groundchuck at the end of scene 2, pause the game and take your picture
Is that picture intended to be the final score, or do we include the points awarded after you defeat him and on the clear screen as well?

I remember the 2016 mess being done, I looked back, and I kind of regret being a bit nice with that 6. I mean it's watchable, but it's also basically everything wrong in hollywood wrapped up into one franchise drive by shooting at the same time. Thankully the two movies came out since that even they've gone to great lengths to use to redact that one movies existence out of history. Alone it's fine for what it is, but ...ouch.
2016 is more authentic and fresh to me. I like the new flicks too, but it feels like they're painted with the Disney/Marvel/Star Wars brush. Nostalgia cash-in all the way. Which is great because they're bustin ghosts, just like new Star Wars 78&9 are great because they have lightsabers and space battles.

I dunno why people are trying to dunk on me about the first one. The first one wasn't really supposed to be a kids movie, it eventually became one when the cartoon came out, hence GB2. And ya'll looked past me saying the humor in 2016 was OBNOXIOUS, or childish, I used my quote as an example. Its like Ghostbusters meets "Scary Movie".
I can respect that 2016 is obnoxious or isn't your particular brand of humor. I'll even agree that Ghostbusters is a much better and smarter film. But it certainly has it's own juvenile jokes. Which is fine by me for both movies.
