And another thing, who the hell am I supposed to vote for this year?  I don't see Kanye West or Princess Khadijah Maryam Jacob-Fambro running in this election.

If you're at least 35 you can vote for yourself! 😄

Nobody ever likes the person at the top. I'm not a fan but I'm not huge on politics. I'd much prefer green party or something but we're in a similar case to the States where there's really only two parties.

You do know that if a third party ever did come along that was strong enough to get some states in the Electoral College it might make it harder for either of the two major parties to get a majority in the EC and thus the election would get decided in the House of Representatives.  You might want to be careful what you're wishing for...

So, Trudeau does have a good reputation here in the USA, but I've heard he's much less popular in Canada -- true that? 🙂

Yet he's been their PM for a little over eight years so far so he and his Liberal party must be doing something right?

Yeah anybody with half a brain knows he did not mean either one literally!  And I really thought the timing of unleashing that Access Hollywood tape just a few days before the second debate was exceptionally sus (as they call it nowadays).  What the heck was the media doing just sitting on this for so long?  Why didn't they report it as soon as it was discovered?  And why did they wait until just before the second debate and not just before the first one?  I know Bernard Goldberg's Bias book first exposed media bias back in the early 2000s but at least they TRIED not to make it so obvious.  But oh boy did the MSM throw absolutely EVERYTHING negative they could at Trump hoping to ruin him, and still are.  Trump will easily get the R nomination because his supporters are much hungrier than the ones for the other R contenders.  As for the general election...remember it might not be Biden he's going against...it could instead be Harris.

When I think of Trump v. Biden, I think of Trump's foreign policy. Trump nearly started a war with Iran by assassinating one of it's generals. Trump also antagonized Palestine and other middle eastern countries by recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. And Trump shredded the nuclear agreement with Iran who is now on course to develop nuclear weapons.

Yet how do you explain this?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abraham_Accords

And I imagine Iran would be on course to develop nuclear weapons anyway.  And Jerusalem IS the capital of Israel.  At least on my globe it's marked as such...

There really wasn't. From a technical standpoint, Blu-ray was superior in many aspects, but that wasn't what won the format war. Sony, determined not to have another Betamax, rallied most of the studios around Blu-ray, and the PS3 was the cheapest player, which helped spread the appeal (similar to how the PS2 helped DVD.) HD-DVD had some support (most notably Paramount), but the tide turned against it. Weirdly, some of the best players for standard DVDs were HD-DVD players, and for a short time after the war ended they traded for way over their original MSRP by DVD enthusiasts. I tried for a long time to get an Onkyo HD-DVD player solely for DVD use, but they were going for stupid money and I eventually gave up.

Oh I distinctively remember one day going into a best buy and seeing both a Blu-Ray and HD-DVD player side by side for $1000(!!) each!!  Is that how much DVD players started being back in the late 90s?  Fun Fact: The first DVD I ever watched (on my then new PS2; I think it was 2001) was Thirteen Days.  And the first ever DVD I ever watched with me and my (then future) wife was Outbreak.

You know what? You got me. You convinced me to hear this song again in order to see this.

I will never like this song. But you're right, it is a good video. I knew that he was often at the forefront of video technology, but this shows me that he always was, from the very beginning.

See?  Wasn't I just as right as rain about how often you really need the video to truly do the song justice?

Yes sir!  Just goes to show contrary to popular belief, Ice was not a "one hit wonder"!  He was a TWO hit wonder!

I'm guessing now over 30(!!) years later it's not exactly the "new skool sound" anymore!  Come to think of it, this song/video, which is credited with being the first rap/hip hop song/video, came out only about 12 years prior!

A couple years ago I made a post on here asking if people ever held controllers in odd ways for certain games.  I do what I call the “lobster claw” for fighting games where I turn my hand a bit and put my thumb on the backside and I use both my pointer and middle fingers to mash buttons.  It’s just easier for me to do it that way when I need to push more than 2 buttons at once.

Well I've often questioned why people loved that Hori Game Boy Player controller so much where the A and B buttons are so awkwardly positioned (try having your thumb tip on the B button and knuckle on A on a GC controller and you'll see what I mean).  It's MUCH better to use a PS1 (NOT PS2!!) controller and a controller convertor so you much more comfortably have SQUARE as B and X as A.  You know, how most SNES games have Y as "fire or run" and B as "jump"?

Yeah this song is overplayed, but Led Zeppelin as a whole is big 10.  And I'd wager that Stairway was the introduction to Zeppelin for 90+% of VGSProbably via Wayne's World.

NOT!!  Heart totally blows it away (and that's with decades past her prime years!)!  I was hoping the Queen of Rock 'N Roll, Joan Jett might have also did a version of Stairway to Heaven but so far as I know, no such luck 😞

I have 6-7 classic rock stations I can pick up in my area. They have brought the 90’s and the occasional 2000’s songs from a band that was already well established, into the “classic rock” designation

Indeed; I think on the Music Choice "Classic Country" station the cutoff is 25 years and I think in KY to get a historic or antique vehicle license plate (I forget which one) 40 years is the cutoff.  I forgot to mention this but I was so thrilled in the late 90s when we got a classic country station and was exposed to a whole genre I otherwise would not have been able to experience as most country stations just play the same 40 songs over and over and over...

I have to assume that classic rock radio is still the same handful songs they always played on repeat 10+ years ago.  Jesus h crist there are other Rush songs than Tom Sawyer.  Or is classic rock like 90s tunes now and my classic rock is golden oldies?

Oh I loved listening to Rush back in my college days!

Came to post a Wayne's World gif. It might be worth a 7 or 8 to me, but the overplayed syndrome that affects all of Led Zeppelin's hits (through no fault of their own) takes it down to a 5. Boring radio DJs have killed the entire band for me.

I haven't bothered with any sort of radio for well over 10-15 years...why should I when I can play most any song/video I want on YouTube (plus I got a nice collection of downloaded music videos) and Music Choice has a bunch of different genres to pick from.
