Mr.mime, seriously he was so different from everything else in gen 1 and I liked his card back then. Gen 2 would maybe be Delibird. After that I didn't have favorites

I always loved being able to trade Abra for mr.mime. I made a Pokemon playthrough style that only works in gen 1 where you only use Pokemon you can get without catching them. So I would buy Abra at the game corner, then trade him for mr.mime

That’s a specialty list so I think it fits. If it’s worth someone’s time to work on then it deserves to be listed!

Only real rule is you have to consider it comprehensive and/or definitive or at the very least intend to get to that point.

Gotcha. Well it's as complete as I think it'll ever be, and seeing as how it had 28k+ views on NA before NA crashed and burned, I think some people found it to be useful lol.

What I mean by as complete as it'll ever be is i have no intention to include combos for the simpler lower ranked monsters since they can mostly be found in the wild anyways or easily created a million different ways.

Here's the link to my list btw

I also made a fire emblem three houses guide but it's not complete by any means. There's too much in that game for it to be complete and I'll never get to the point of completing every little detail of that massive game.

Ivw heard people talk about Awakening but Echos is that good?  I've got all three that came out but don't know where to start.

Yes avatar is right. Echoes is the best fire emblem game made so far. It's a shame so many people overlooked it.

  4. I shared this is another 3ds thread but here you go

Some awesome 3DS games I've played and can vouch for are

    Shovel knight

    Fire emblem Awakening

    Fire emblem echoes

    Fire emblem fates

    Pokemon x and y

    Mario kart 7

    Cave story 3D

    NES remix

    Azure striker gunvolt

    Star fox 64

    Zelda OOT

    Zelda link between worlds

    Witch and hero 1, 2 and 3

    Pocket card jockey

Fan translated version of dragon quest monsters joker 3 (actually my favorite 3DS game)

    Super smash bros

The must plays out of those above are

    Shovel knight

    All the fire emblems

    Pocket card jockey

    Dragon quest monsters joker 3

    All the witch and heroes

    Cave story 3D

Some games I'm sure are good but I haven't played are

    Bravely default 1 and 2

    Shantae

    Xenoblade

    Radiant historia

    Mega man legacy collection

Some games to avoid at all costs

Kid Icarus uprising (terrible controls making the game unplayable)

Pokemon sun and moon (worst Pokemon games in the series. So many broken aspects in this gen)

Paper mario sticker (just no. Limited stickers to attack with in battles, getting stuck in the story. No no no.)

  5. If you're one of the ones who missed out backing up old messages or threads, there is a way to do both (for now).

To access old messages in the normal way you used to see them, go to http://segaage.com/forum/ or http://playstationage.com/forum/ and login there with your old Nintendoage credentials. You'll be able to view all old messages with NA people and still message them through segaage or playstationage.

Now for accessing old Nintendoage threads, you will have to go to the link below. This is Nintendoage as it was before being shifted to gocollect. All the threads are still there.

    http://74.86.217.179/forum/

You can try logging in but you won't be able to (at least I haven't figured out how). You'll be able to see the old threads but not comment or edit them.

Happy copy and pasting! Back up those important threads and messages now before it really is too late!

NintendoAge was kind of shit, and had been shit for a great many years. Still, it's terribly sad to see it gone. Just last week I had referred a friend to "The Ultimate GameCube Variants Guide" thread made by the great NintendoTwizer which really was the greatest and definitive guide on North American Nintendo GameCube variants, and there's lots of threads and info like that which were filled with valuable information which I would regularly refer to for one reason or another. I get that the forum is "archived" now, but it's really not. There's so many threads like that which seem to be gone now, or at least are one step closer now to being faded away into oblivion. There's no reason the old NintendoAge forum couldn't still exist at nintendoage.com and just make people not be able to post on it or whatever. The GoCollect people really have no clue the difference between their asses and game collecting and a hole in the ground and it's sad. I'm happy to see this videogamesage.com forum and many familiar faces posting on it. Very awesome, guys. 👍🎮

Pull all threads you care about from here before they really are gone for good. I grabbed mine weeks before the shutdown luckily. This is a second chance that might not be around for too much longer.

  7. Price charting has always been pretty close to the real current value of games. I found gvn to be more exaggerated with certain titles but it got better over the years. Price charting is a good base, and then I check eBay since Amazon always has inflated prices due to the sellers losing 20% in fees to Amazon

What do you mean port over? Like, you will make a port with homebrew to 3DS?

I think he means porting over the thread he saved from NA. I have a few more I created that I will port over eventually. Glad I saved what I could while I had the chance.

Nice! Thanks 🙂 I'll pick this one up and mess around with it to get an understanding then pick up the latest for us to play together, I'm excited now, Thanks again!!

No problem! And like I said, let me know if you have any questions. There's so much strategy in Yu-Gi-Oh.

Some generic rules I go by are:

Traps and effect monsters are your friends

Avoid attacking most of the time. Let them attack you

Reflective damage is the way to go.

Don't use 5 star and above monsters. They cost too much and can be destroyed easily. 5+ star synchros are okay though.

Try to have cards that can buy you time and can activate on there own. A lot of theme decks can be good but take multiple cards to pull off their stunt and it doesn't usually work too well.

Order matters. You can't activate traps the same turn you lay them down. So instead of playing swords of revealing light and then laying your dark bribe card, lay your dark bribe down first, then on your next turn activate swords of revealing light so that if your opponent tries to destroy it, you can counter with dark bribe.

Does this Yugioh game contain an in game tutorial/etc? My younger daughter is getting into Yugioh but I don't have a freakin clue how to play...was thinking I could pick up a hand held video game version, learn how to play at work, then transfer what I have learned to teaching her the actual card game....good idea? Or should I just watch Youtube vids? lol Thanks man!

This game is really good for learning how to play Yu-Gi-Oh. The card game instructions can be very confusing when you get into countering cards with other cards and the order of events that take place. There isn't a tutorial in the game but you can figure most of it out pretty easily from trial and error, and each card tells you what it does.

I will add that the latest Yu-Gi-Oh game might be the best to teach since there are newer cards with completely different rules. Like xyz monsters and a couple others. But 2011 has everything up to and including synchro monsters. I can give you lots of tips and answer questions if you have them about rules and strategies.

I actually prefer the games to physical cards because you can get any card in the game and it won't cost you an arm and a leg. Some cards in real life can cost like $20-100 just for one card.

  11. Definitely DS. Best library by far, most titles aren't too crazy expensive yet, it's portable, and titles are still easy to find. The 3DS is technically the best though only because it's backwards compatible with the DS but 3DS library of games is nowhere near that of the DS.

I also really like collecting for GameCube, although it's getting really pricey and hard to find complete games

Glad to hear that I can skip Digimon World DS. I've been looking for it locally for years, but I've never managed to find it.

Of the three Etrian Odyssey games on the DS, III is the best. I and II are good, but they're not as well balanced as III, even though III has some issues with statuses and binds not being as effective as one would hope. The music and story are both better than I and II as well.

As for Izuna, 2 is more forgiving because both party members have to die for you to lose and, while both party members are alive, you have a rechargeable tag attack that hits everything on the screen. Both mechanics give you more options when the game pulls some BS. However, 2 is a continuation of the story from 1, so play 1 first if you care about that. Izuna 1 and 2 (and Etrian Mystery dungeon) a great middle ground between the Pokemon mystery dungeon games, which are very easy for the genre, and the Shiren games, which tend to be some of the most difficult in the genre.

Of the five, I think I'd say Etrian Odyssey III is the best.

I will say digimon world DS is still worth tracking down (watch out for fakes). Thanks for filling me in on all those! Definitely going to have to give each series a shot one day.

I liked the combat because you got bonus/critical damage if you hit enemies when they were about to land, which becomes important the further you get into the game. The juggling mechanic was a pretty unique and helped keep the battles engaging.

@Makar I don't have Digimon World DS, but I do have Dawn and Dusk. Do I need to play Digimon World DS first, or can I just skip it and move straight to Dawn/Dusk?

Also, I nominate Etrian Odyssey III and the Izuna series.

@Philosoraptor they're pretty similar games, yet a bit different. You can skip and move straight to Dawn or dusk. You do not need to play both Dawn and dusk. They're like 99% the same game like Pokemon red and blue. Only slight differences.

I have the etrian ones and izuna. Never played those either but they're on my list. Which of the 5 of those would you say is the best game?

I preferred the earlier games where it was more tactics and less story. I find the later games rather boring with too many long winded speeches and too much telenovella type back story.

I actually agree with you there. I can't tell you how much dialogue I skip through. There's too much of it, and the story often isn't good. But at least you have the option to skip through it. And the tactics part is still great.

  15. It's so hard to pick just one. In the end it came down to link to the past or wind waker. I love the exploration and treasure hunting in wind waker and the dungeons so it got the edge over lttp. Now if you said top 5, 6 or 7 lol, I'd say

Windwaker, lttp, oot, links awakening, botw, link between world's, and Oracle of seasons
