I wouldn’t say these are exclusively the top 5 but, these are really good games.

    The legendary starfy

    Phoenix Wright ace attorney
    Harvest moon ds

    Hotel dusk room 215

    Animal crossing wild world

Shin megami tensei devil survivor 2

    dragon ball origins
    999

Mario & luigi bowsers inside story

and for 3ds I know of a ton.

Interesting. Of all those ds games, I've only played Chrono trigger. So legendary starfy is really that good of a platformer eh?

The DS is a fantastic console to both play and collect for and I can see it exploding someday. Many games for it just can’t be converted because of the touch interface and as mentioned, many cases and manuals were destroyed at retail. It also has such a huge library that I’m always finding titles I hadn’t seen before.

It’s fun and easy to collect console variants. Is there a more drastic improvement in a console than the OG DS to the DS Lite?

It’s also an important system historically because of its booming popularity. It sold like hot cakes. Everyone had one. I wouldn’t say it was as culturally relevant as the Wii at the time, but it was damn close. Nintendo experimented with a weird idea and it blew up. They originally intended for it to be alongside the GBA (or so Nintendo said) but once it caught fire they focused entirely on it.

The DS was an integral part of my childhood and teenage years so I have a ton of memories and a very high opinion of it.

It already has started to explode imo. Lots and lots of $100+ CIB games, and you have a couple that are that price for just the cart too. Some of the really hard to find ones are $250+ CIB. People are finally catching onto DS collecting and realizing just how incredible the library is. It's not all garbage like what people once assumed. Sure, a lot of it is, but there are easily over 50 great games.

I'm always amazed just how rare some of the DS titles are to find CIB given how popular the system was, but man, finding the case and manuals for some titles is darn near impossible.

Quick, top 5 favorite DS games, and go!

For the Club Nintendo exclusives for the DS, there are two: Game & Watch Collection, and Game & Watch Collection 2. These could only be purchased with 800 Club Nintendo coins by doing reviews of DS and Wii games via the codes you found on the inserts.

For the Louvre museum title for 3DS, it is a virtual tour guide for the museum that uses AR technology. Kind of like those little headsets you can get at other museums. For those who don't know, the Louvre is the art museum with the glass pyramid in Paris, France that houses the David, the Mona Lisa, and other incredibly famous pieces of art. This is also the museum in the Da Vinci Code. The tour guide could only be purchases at the physical museum in Paris.

Thankfully, I can shed some light about the 3DS title as I happened to be studying art history in Europe in 2015, and stumbled upon the 3DS kiosk while at the Louvre by complete coincidence. Towards the back end of the museum there was a giant circular desk, kind of like an information booth, and it had a ton of the 3DS games placed on it. There was also a banner advertising it and a worker manning the desk to answer any questions about it.

Not a ton of people were buying them, as there was zero advertising on the outside or towards the front of the museum, so you had no idea it was even an option, and you would have needed to coincidentally had your 3DS on you to take advantage of it. I will say the game came in probably 15 different languages. English, French, Spanish, Portugese, Dutch, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, German... I can't remember all of them, but there were a ton of versions, so if you want a full set that makes it even more of a headache. They were about €20-€30 per copy, can't remember exactly how much.

I bought an English copy and still have it factory sealed to this day. It's a nice piece because it not only is very rare and has increased in value, but also reminds me of my time in Europe. It really felt like I stumbled upon a unique treasure for my collection in this city halfway across the world.

Unfortunately, because I was a broke college student, I only got the one English copy and couldn't afford to buy the other languages. Considering their price and rarity now, good luck to whoever wants to try.

The game and watch games are cool collectibles but are actually pretty terrible games lol. I wish they'd bring back physical games or other cool prizes you could buy with points. Those were the days.

Who knows, probably somewhere in the high 50s or 60s but that’s just a guess.   If you wanna add me and maybe run fill squads together sometime if we happen to be online at the same time my epic name is K.runch, I don’t have a mic setup or anything like that though.  If you add me and your name is way different than your VGS name lemme know cause I get lots of random friend requests

That's crazy to imagine it'd be that high. I'm up for doing squads sometime. I'll add you and pm you my username. I have a mic. I usually just call out enemies even if other people don't have mics.

yeah I loathed squads at first and almost always played solo when I first started playing but as I play more I enjoy the group dynamic.   I have a few friends and family members who play but even fill squads is a gas.  I hear you, playing on the switch is a struggle, I’m likely gonna make the switch to Xbox soon because I want better performance.  I play aggressively and build in every fight when it isn’t just a gimme.  There’s only so much you can do but on that notion there’s only so much you can do with a console and controller period compared to keyboard and mouse especially when it comes to editing builds.  My highest kills in one game is 20 and it’s pretty recent.   I dropped salty with a squad and we just tore up the place.  I didn’t see the final squad kill count that game but when we were approaching the final circle it was at 38.  What a deadly game - the circumstances really need to be right to pull a game like that unless you’re a god and can flex on everyone playing solo squads

I was the same way. Solo all the way but squads has so many more elements to it that makes it more fun. 20 kills is nuts! That's really good. I wonder what the record is for solo, duos and squads

Most of my wins are squads like 135 or so (havent checked in a while so this is all a guess) and then like 35ish duos wins and 20 solo wins.   Percentage wise its probably not that great because it took me a long time to start getting decent.  I still have lots of things I need to improve upon.    The game has a deliciously high skill ceiling

Nice! I've gravitated more towards squads myself. Up to an 18% win ratio now. 58 wins out of 314 matches played. Finally got my first duos win too. I rarely play that one so it was nice to finally get a win. I am not great at building. Not sure you really can be when you play on a switch lol, but I've adapted and hide more and snipe from afar. The most kills I've ever gotten is 15 now in squads. What about you?

  9. Dang didn't realize there's no more 10% off pre-owned. Looks like my GameStop days are over. They'll crash and burn quickly once people realize they no longer get good pre-owned game deals. That was the only reason why I still went there.

And yea the $5 coupon thing is a joke. You can't even use it on pre-owned games. What's the f*cking point then??? All I bought from them were pre-owned games.

  10. China will probably be at over 100 official deaths by the end of the weekend. It's the perfect storm situation. Illness originates in a major city in an unknown way. Illness goes largely unreported for weeks. People transfer it to others unknowingly for weeks. No known cure and the earliest estimates say a cure is a year+ out. Cities go into lockdown, preventing 35 million from leaving.

They're at 56 dead, and almost 2000 infected now. Just a week ago, there were less than 10 dead and less than 500 infected. And these are the numbers China is confirming. The real figure is almost certainly much higher. The disease essentially had a 3 week jumpstart before any lockdowns were put into effect.

Oh, and the flu is not more deadly percentage wise than this coronavirus. "the agency says influenza has caused up to 57,300 deaths and sickened up to 41.3 million people". That's only 1/13th of 1 percent of those infected who died.

    http://www.cidrap.umn.edu/news-perspective/2019/04/us-flu-still-elevated-dropping-deaths-high-57000

Meanwhile, this coronavirus is at a 3% death rate.

  11. No one is forced to buy any console. And sometimes there isn't a really big improvement later down the road. Did the Wii ever get an improvement? Or the Wii u? GameCube didn't, at least I don't recall it getting one.

I usually wait a year to buy a new system so that they can work out all the bugs, and so that I know there will be enough games I want to justify purchasing said system. This method helped me avoid the bust that was the Wii u. It also helps me save money since console prices and game prices go down over time. And it still allows me to keep up with the times and be in the moment so to speak. I'm not missing out on the experience like I would if I waited like 3-4 years after a console came out to buy it.

People will always buy stuff when it first comes out though because they want to experience the new tech first and they want to have that fresh experience asap. You could charge a grand for a new gen system when it first comes out and people would still buy it.

I love it, its pretty much my favorite game and the one I play the most.  Starting to get pretty good, I'm approaching 200 wins

Dang that's impressive! In squads, duos, singles? What's your win percentage out of games played?
