  2. I saw the movie 1408 in theatres.  I liked it, as I usually like all of King's flics.  Anyways, I stumbled across it again on Netflix years later.  Watched it and the ending was completely different.  I thought I was going crazy but turns out they switched the ending of the movie for the Netflix release.  Weird.

I have asked myself this Same question many times. My thought is as follows. I believe you are dead on right with the collectors of the NES - SNES Era, they are getting older, their financial goals are changing and they are loosing the nostalgic value they once had or at the very least loosing interest in games that did not hold a special place umpteen years ago. As the later gens (Most Recent Gamecube) come to age of having a decent paying job and some purchasing power cash in on their nostalgia, we see the Gamecube prices skyrocket. etc.

I think there will be a day in the future when these long time collectors (Including myself) will just begin to offload our collections, or they will start showing up in masses at estate sales, and as you know the more the supply the less the demand, therefore the less it costs. I'm sure some collectors of Sports cards were asking these questions decades ago, and sure as shit the bottom fell right out on that one.

I think there will "Always" be titles that will hold real value regardless (Stadium Events ;)) regardless just as Mikey Mantle's Rookie does today, but the rest will fall out and possible either fill up some landfills or respawn the collecting craze allover again being cheap and affordable and fun. the only way I think you will keep these prices going up over the long haul is to get legislation passed that makes the sales exampt from tax, then you will be seeing them used for true investment holdings like Art.

I thought sales of art was taxed though, no?

Street Fighter II lost to Pokemon Yellow 🤣

For everyone who thinks the nostalgia classics are timeless must plays that all will enjoy, just check the latest IGN twitter poll thing: https://twitter.com/IGN/status/1438563571286167552/photo/1

Rise of the Tomb Raider beat Half-Life 2
    Burnout 3 beat Chrono Trigger
    Skyrim beat Ocarina of Time
Smash Ultimate beat Super Mario World
Batman Arkham City beat Super Mario 64
    Apex Legends beat Super Metroid

These are the opinions of the next big generation that will grow into collectors, lol

    WTF....

Nothing beats Super Metroid in my book.  Bonkers.

I don't know why I forgot about this, nor why I never took a picture, but I do have one other old PC game, so old I can't even read the disks for it as they're 5 1/4s.  I picked up a couple years back the original Street Fighter arcade game DOS PC port.  The box art was fantastic, I couldn't leave it, and the box is different it's like one of those oversized puffy VHS tape style clamshells.

I tried to be lazy and find an image, I can't, so I pulled it out to take a picture.

Boy that is sweet.  Any chance you would be willing to part with it?  I am a big Street Fighter fan and would love to display it.  I have PayPal funds and plenty to trade.  PM me if interested.  Thanks Tanooki.  Oh and I was playing that Gameboy over the weekend.  I really like it.  Works great now.

I don't have it with me but I been meaning to try out my JVC X'eye and see how it sounds with CDs. I assumed since it was a higher end unit the sound quality should be better. Anyone tested one out?

I have tested it out and it sounds pretty good but nothing special.  The best sounding CD player game system I have found is the Philips CDI 220.

    PAID 🙂

Congratulations.  What an amazing story/sale.  I can't believe the amount of life changing auctions happening on Heritage these days.  Makes me wish I got into sealed collecting long ago.  I was one of those collectors in the camp of "games are meant to be opened and played, not to stay sealed".  Boy am I kicking myself now.  If you don't mind me asking, and I totally understand if you do mind and don't want to answer, how much do you clear on a transaction like this?  I figure after grading costs, Heritage fees, and taxes you net around a million?  I can only day dream of what it would be like to open my checking account and see a seven figure deposit.  From the sale of a video game no less.  God bless.

It's honestly shocking; You can tell that they were crushed on making the 32X port. It's almost impressive how doom got so many bad or ill-fitting ports. Not sure if you've seen this, but a fellow went and remixed every track on FM synth, as sort of a demo of how 32X Doom should have sounded (and honestly it's amazing it didn't, FM synth is perfect for rock guitar stuff).

Boy that sounds amazing.  How did Sega mess this port up so bad?

Is there a way to get a rom of this to play on my 32x via Everdrive?  I am not asking for the rom, just curious if it exists out there......  somewhere....
