Just "good"? 😞  Well my regular CRT and HDTV speakers are "just good".  I thought the idea was for the Bose Wave Radio speakers sound amazing.  And those Bose speakers you showed me, do they sound the same as the Wave Radio?  And it looks like if I do someday try find a good used Wave Radio I better be careful about those off white ones...are those the ones that came from smoker's homes (and might have cigarette crap inside or something)?  Yuk 😞

First off all/most plastic turns yellow after a certain amount of years.  Just look at some old PC Engine, Sega Saturn (Japan model), NES, or SNES systems on eBay.  It doesn't always have to do with smoke damage.

Secondly, the Bose Wave radio will sound better than the Bose 2.0 Companion speakers BUT you can find the 2.0 Companion speakers cheaper.  I bet you would not be disappointed with either choice though, especially since it seems they will mainly be used for retro gaming sounds.

I only ever used the Sega CD and Turbo CD to play audio CDs.  My preference was the Turbo CD because you could "unhook it," if I am remembering correctly, and carry it around with you like a walkman.  At least, that seems to be my memory of the thing!

You could carry it around for sure BUT it needed to be plugged in to operate.  No batteries.  Man the Turbo CD and NEC were way ahead of their time. The Turbo Express was amazing as well.

Oh and they were the first company to have a CD add on for gaming regardless of what Sega tried say.  Sega straight up lied!

I think my idea of "good" is much different than yours if you consider your CRT and HDTV sound as being "good".  I have a high end stereo system with thousands of dollars of gear set up (KEF reference speakers, ROTEL Amp, Pioneer Elite SACD/DVD-A player, Toshiba HDCD player, etc.).  To me the Bose sound is "good".  But it is light years ahead of any CRT speakers unless you have a very high end one like an XBR or D-Series.  Tell you what, if you find one for $50 or less (Bose Wave Radio or some other Bose set up) and are not happy with the sound, or you think it is the same as your CRT, then I will buy it off you for what you paid and I'll pay for shipping.  Deal?  I am confident you will be happy and not want to give them up TBH.  Go for it Estil.  You have nothing to lose.

Would the original 1993 model like this one be good enough?  And which of the red/white plugs in the back would I use if I wanted to use them for my retro video game console audio output?

If you wanted to go even cheaper I like these for under $50.

I currently have two sets as I find them for $20-$30 a lot at tag sales and thrift stores.

But do they sound $500 great?

No they are not $500 great.  I would never purchase one brand new.  But at used prices you can usually find them for under $100 dollars.  The thing about Bose is they get a bad rap in the HiFi Stereo community because, even though they sound good, they are overpriced.  But the thing is they are very user friendly.  Usually plug and play with very little set up / tinkering needed.  Kind of like an Alienware PC or laptop.  You pay top dollar for a capable PC Gaming machine all set up and ready to go.  But for the money you spend on an Alienware you could build a substantially more powerful PC yourself.  Same thing with stereo equipment.  You could put a $500 HiFi set together that sounds better than that Bose Radio at $500.

You know my late wife swore by those fancy Bose Wave radios...but I find it VERY hard to believe their sound could be anywhere close to $400-$500 better.  But suppose someday I did get a good used one or something...would I be able to use it as video game speakers (like if I connect the red/white cables to it instead of the TV)?  And would it really do much good?

Yes and yes.  To clarify, just make sure it has stereo input/inputs in the back of it.  I wanna say they all, if not most, do but just make sure before you buy.  I use Bose speakers for a lot of my gaming and they sound great IMO.

One, the Switch Pro, and two, several hundred dollars to get it, the Pro Controller, and the software.  That's what I'm waiting for 😛

Dude you only live once.  Just buy it now.  Sell some of your old games to get it.  I'll take that Tron Bonne off you.  That should give you just enough, no?

They sell one item per day and it's usually a sought after item or an item on sale, usually 20% -30% off. You choose which pick up location as the truck usually moves to different parts throughout the day in different hour brackets. They normally park in a shopping center. They park their big truck and they have a set up of some games which if you win you get some prizes or treats. I don't remember as of when, but they shifted to being able to ship the item free of charge as an option. It now seems, at least in my area, that shipping was the only option.

Yeah, game is getting shipped to me tomorrow.

I guess that’ll be it for my eBay selling. The thought of having to use Facebook turns my stomach though.  I guess it’s going up here.

It seems even if you sell here it will be reported by PayPal unless you do friends and family.

I hear that the Government wanting to track Crypto transactions is driving a lot of this.

How do you tell which version you have? Your post is a little vague 😄

    Sorry about that.

Go into the special section and enter the level select cheat code.

    Level select
Enter "NONJYMNT" as a code to unlock the level select option

A bunch of levels have been named something different.  Look for the last level to be called "On top of the World".  The last battle takes place on top of the World Trade center.
