  1. Greetings all!

I'm a Sega Genesis collector and only a hair's breadth away from a full CIB North American set. All I'm looking for now is a copy of Normy's Beach Babe-O-Rama, specifically one with a good condition manual (a better condition box would be nice too, but the manual is the key part). If you have one and are willing to part with a copy, or have any leads on one, please let me know!

I'm willing to pay fair market price (negotiable) or to work out a trade from my growing collection of Genesis extras (I have a lot of stuff I'm in the process of selling off, most are complete & in good condition, inquire for better pics):

(N.A. residents are preferable for trades, international is always a hassle 😉)

Thank you for helping a fellow collector!

    EDIT: Nevermind, found one!

  2. Update! Added/updated the following items:

    Genesis Model 1:

Added [Canada] # 3)  Blank box without $50 rebate sticker

    Genesis Model 2:

    Added # 3)  6-Pak / Bugs Bunny combo pack-in

    Added # 17)  “Sonic 2 System” mail-in coupon variant

    Updated # 31)  Wal-Mart – better front image

Added [Canada] # 9)  “Sonic 2 System”  with bonus offer sticker

    CD Model 2:

Added # 2)  “Core System” sticker

The sticker is on the insert. Youse guys can do whatever you want with this spreadsheet, the sticker variant is going in my spreadsheet, lol. Gotta catch 'em all. Or at least catch pictures of them all because I can't catch them all 😞

Haha, no one can catch them all.

I pretty much agree with @supergamboy that the sticker orientation shouldn't be considered a "real" variant (whatever that might mean), so for now I'll leave the matrix as-is (tracking the five variants I posted on the 10th). If the sticker really is on the insert, than the blurry picture of the 5th variant (1st round w/ sticker) is probably legit, we'll just have to keep looking to confirm.

And so that red sticker appears to be on two different releases, right? Its mostly on the version that doesn't have the "1st Round" badge.  But there is one low-res pic of it on a 1st Round release?

And this sticker is on beat up CIB copies and is on the clamshell case itself.  That easily lends itself to some case swapping.  Though I mean, I guess it's unlikely that someone would swap cases between two copies of PGA Golf II, but it's possible. Shrug.

Can anyone confirm the red sticker is on the clamshell and not the paper insert? I don't actually own a sticker copy, but from some of the eBay results, it appears to be under the plastic:

  5. I never ended up getting a reply from that seller, so I just bought it instead (it was cheap enough), and it's definitely a regular paper insert, not a cut up cardboard box:

We'll have to keep a look out for more to verify the contents don't have the badge, but at least we for sure now know there is an ESRB clamshell variant

I strongly doubt about this. There is no ESRB label on cart and manual. I think it's really cardboard version cover.

Looking at ESRB copies of Sonic Spinball and Golden Axe, neither have it on the cart/manual either... they could just be mismatches (I'll have to check my Sonic 1 ESRB next time I go to my locker), but do we know that ESRB re-release ratings were always put on all pieces?

If it is a cardboard box cut and put in a clamshell, it looks very cleanly cut. Let me shoot the seller a message, see if he'd be willing to pull the case insert out and take a picture

  7. More variants! I never actually finished going through everything Tripredacus-Agent had brought up on reddit way back in January, and I've had a shortcut to the thread sitting on my desktop since then, so I finally got around to combing through the rest of it:

Micro Machines has 5 clamshell variants which I've added this to the matrix:
Case has "Superb playability" badge (center-left) and pink "No 1 Bestseller" badge
Case has "Superb playability" badge (center-left) and pink "U.K. No 1 Bestseller" badge
Case has "Superb playability" badge (center-left) and white "U.K. Number 1" sticker (couldn't find one on ebay, so pic is from vgcollect)
Case has "Superb playability" badge (center-left) and yellow "U.K. Number 1" sticker
Case has "Superb playability" badge (upper-right) and yellow "U.K. Number 1" sticker

Caesar's Palace has an ESRB clamshell release (I'm 99% sure that's not just a cardboard sleeve cut & inserted into a clamshell)

PGA Tour Golf II currently has 4 known clamshell variants:
    1) 1st Round Limited Edition, case doesn't have red badge. Cart has number 7155 (7-course game ROM).
    2) Non-1st Round, case has red "If it's on the tour" sticker. Cart has number 7155 (7-course game ROM).
    3) Non-1st Round, case has red "If it's on the tour" sticker. Cart has number 7155A (6-course game ROM).
    4) Non-1st Round, case doesn't have red badge. Cart has number 7155 (7-course game ROM).

According to vgcollect's list, there is an additional variant which I haven't been able to verify on ebay (vgcollect's picture is very low-res)
    5) 1st Round Limited Edition, case has red "If it's on the tour" sticker. Cart has number 7155 (7-course game ROM).

I've tentatively added this to the matrix; @supergamboy, thoughts?

Relevant to my above post, it could also have another if we decide sticker orientation qualifies as a variant:
3b) Non-1st Round, case has red "If it's on the tour" sticker (upward orientation). Cart has number 7155A (6-course game ROM).
    vGo5bNS.jpg
I haven't added this to the list yet.

According to vgcollect's list, Street Fighter II S.C.E. has two slide box variants, one with and one without the Ballistic sticker on the back; I haven't been able to verify the non-Ballistic one on ebay, but vgcollect has some very low-res pictures:
    Nr1hPD1.jpg

    https://vgcollect.com/item/140607
I've tentatively added this to the matrix, but it should be verified.

There's also supposedly a Pit-Fighter variant with yellow game title and no "8meg" badge, but I couldn't find any to verify, so I haven't added it:
    https://vgcollect.com/item/130271

I've also added the Populous, Shaq-Fu, Super Off-Road, Taz-Mania, and Winter Challenge variants from January that were never picked up. Will check the rest of my previous posts to see if anything else was missed.

Non-LE, "6 Courses" on front of box, 705501A code on back of box, 7155A cart. Did they remove a course or something?

"6 courses" box with sticker reversed. These stickers seem hand applied, but I've only seen the 6 course box with the sticker facing both directions.

@supergamboy, do we want to go into the granularity of sticker orientation? I kind of feel like if it's otherwise the same sticker, it shouldn't count as a variant... Opinions, anyone?

Edit: I've also added all the above variants for Alien 3, Altered Beast, PGA Tour Golf II, Sonic 1/2, Sports Talk Baseball, Streets of Rage 1/2, Tale Spin, and Tiny Toon Adventures.

Wisdom Tree games - I have added “Styrofoam Block(s)” to each one. The two blocks look right like that, but I’m just surprised I’ve never seen it before.  It could be that I just wasn’t thinking in terms of my yet-to-be-created spreadsheet, but hopefully we’ll see them in that arrangement again a couple times. As a cheap company, 1 block seems believable and I could see the second one being a collector solution (but then again, how would they get a second?)

So I finally got a copy of Spiritual Warfare (and completed my WT subset!), and it too has two blocks, in the same arrangement as Joshua:

    SJNc5iQ.jpg

So I'd say it's safe to assume they're all supposed to have two blocks (my Bible Adventures is sealed so I can't actually check, but it feels like there's two in there, and my Exodus doesn't have any, so it's not really a good indicator)

Are 2 variants of Captain America - 1 has a pin (sticker on cover) the other one doesn't? Or is there only one (with pin) and some items out there have no sticker and no pin?

We're not sure whether there was a non-pin release or not; the stickers fall off pretty easily, so its possible non-sticker copies just lost them over time. Need to see a sealed copy without a sticker to verify
