Documenting everything is an absolute must...without it there's no way of remembering every tiny little difference of many games...the problem is simply that nobody wants to just "share" their findings because of all the long hard work put into such a list...and I can't blame anyone for not wanting to do so...I know I won't just give the internet my list all willy nilly...but it's not simply because of selfishness...alot of it is because there is a lot to Interpret when deciding what is a variant or not a lot of times...I mean for example...loose games alone, let's say I have 1800 documented variants and 1800 games I've collected over the years of each one...every single game is different no two alike ...there's always going to be the question of where to draw the line...and that's hard to understand for anyone who hasn't truly dove into the rabbit hole and seen first hand how many variations there are for some games no matter how small....believe me I would love to have an ongoing conversation with other fellow variant collectors of nes games to see what I've missed and to fill in their gaps as well...it's simply extremely hard to do when they either don't go as far as I do or they won't consider something a variant or maybe they havnt documented the games correctly or the same way ....
