I would say that Retrozone's was an unofficial release because at the time, I don't think anyone really gave a shit about unreleased game's prototype's being found. It's over ten years later and buying old IP rights is now a thing. I think Sunday Funday and Greg Pabitch's release of Cheetahmen were the first actual reproductions, where they got the rights to the game and rereleased it. In this case, he's not wrong in saying this is the first official release if he has the rights to make it.

Yeah, he got the rights for Chip's Challenge, so he must've done the same for Airball, meaning this is not a pirate/bootleg, but an actual repro.

I just wanted to let y'all know, that I'm not mentioning the thing I started in the Secret Santa thread.  It isn't really connected to the Secret Santa and I don't want there to be any confusion about that, nor for the picture thing to get intertwined with the official SS event.

I used to hunt for this thing religiously. Ray Bot had it on his 3/5 screw list on NA, that's how long I'd been looking for it. When I was in Japan, I asked every store I went in to about it. Guy had one for sale a couple years ago and turned down what I consider an obscene offer, then came back and I'd cooled and we couldn't agree on a price after I bought something else.

I'd moved on, thinking it'd never happen, but I'd pay $1000 for it right now. That's two public prices for you.
