  1. Growing up I had very few PC games, I never had a decent computer until 6 or 7 years ago, so the vast majority of my gaming was on consoles. However there are a few exceptions, SimCity being the most notable one. Actually, I was a huge fan of the entire "Sim" series. Still am. Maxis (RIP) was one of my favorite developers of all time. My favorite was probably SimCity 3000 but I played the shit out of all of the SimCities.

But since we're talking about the original SimCity, it is quite dated and pretty limited in what you can do but I still appreciate the simplicity of it. I have great memories of this game, both the PC and SNES versions. The music of the SNES version in particular is just perfect. I actually got introduced to this game in computer class so very long ago, in elementary school, and later in middle school I got to play SimCity 2000 as well. But honestly this game is so fundamentally solid that I still enjoy the original. I've always been a big fan of simulation games so I'm biased but SimCity was one of my favorite series for a very long time and quite honestly no recent simulation game has matched it. No not even City Skylines.

I was so close to giving this a 10 but went with 9 because the original definitely is pretty limited but SC2000 and 3000 definitely deserve a 10.

One last note, ive actually been on the hunt for good games that play like the original SimCity or just basic city building games. Nothing complex like City Skylines, so if anyone is as any recommendations I'd love to hear them.

  2. I only played this for the first time maybe a year or two ago. I thought it was pretty good but not amazing, I beat it in one sitting. But my 5 year old son started playing games last year and this is the first one he picked up, it's his favorite game, so now it has a special place for me. 8/10

  3. I wouldn't say I'm a huge sports guy but I enjoy them. I've followed NFL pretty intently for years. I used to follow NBA when I was a kid in the 90s but haven't watched in years. I loosely follow MLB, I get pretty hyped in the first 1/3 of the season but lose interest until the playoffs pretty much. And NHL is more of a recent interest which I enjoy a lot but don't have the history with it. That said sports are kind of a third string hobby for me after gaming and comics and I barely have enough time for those two.

As far as playing sports goes, I've never had that opportunity. I wanted to play baseball when I was younger but my parents never could be bothered taking me or letting me sign up. On top of that I never got to do anything during gym class because I was constantly bullied and picked last every time they had to pick teams. So aside from shooting hoops in front of my house or throwing a baseball or football around the yard, I've never played any sport.

And finally bringing me to sports games, growing up I never liked them much. I liked the Mario sports games like Mario Tennis, Mario Golf, etc. and arcade versions of sports like NBA Jam and NFL Blitz but I've never liked simulation sports games. It was only last year that I got into MLB The Show and I ended up loving it. I also got a Madden but I'm terrible with picking plays so I can't say I love it but I do like playing during NFL's off season just to keep my football fandom going.

  4. I have not watched a new episode in probably 20 years. I watched it some growing up and liked it, and I've been rewatching some old episodes here and there over the last year or so, and I like the show when it's good but I never loved it. Today respect how relevant it's stayed throughout 35 seasons and just the overall cultural impact of it but I've met a bunch of hardcore Simpsons fans and I could never get on that level of fandom.

  5. I don't know enough about classical music to tell you the names but Catherine on PS3 features several classical tunes (and the soundtrack as a whole is amazing). And Eternal Sonata on PS3/XBox 360 is basically a love letter to Chopin.

Easy 10 for me.  My absolute favorite of the series.  It took everything from the original and improved on it.  I believe 2 is more challenging than 1 in terms of level design, but I agree that 2 is much easier to 100% compared to 1.  The graphics still look beautiful today.

Agreed. Crash 2 is the peak of the series. Crash 1 is definitely more challenging IMO but 2 is the perfect balance. 3 was too easy imo. Crash is one of my favorite series even through all the ups and downs. 10/10 easy.

  7. Hold up. Please tell me I'm not the only one who thought December 1963 was a Billy Joel song. I had NO idea until this moment Frankie Valli did the original.

I never liked Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, I hate the way he sings. You know what I'm talking about. But honestly never checked out his solo stuff which I actually seem to know a few of the songs and they're good! Grease is one I knew, I've heard the song so many times on Muzak at work but never knew it was Frankie Valli. Huh. The more you know.

  8. 9 Jason's out of 10. I dunno I guess I'm in the minority but I love this game. Maybe I'm basing it off the first time I played it when the concept was fresh and really felt like watching a movie. I haven't played it in probably 10 years but I loved every minute with it.

  9. 17 😑 But to be fair I only counted movies I've sat and watched the whole thing through. There are a lot of movies here I've seen pieces of or know references from. Like, I've never seen the entirety of the Godfather, but I've seen parts of it on TV, heard so many references to it, and heard people talk about it that I feel like I have seen it even though I haven't. I'm also just not a big movie guy. 🤷

  10. First game I ever played and one I enjoyed back in the day. Even now it's nostalgic but it's just not fun for more than 2 minutes. Like ok really much all Atari games I'm just not that into it these days.  5/10

  11. One of my absolute favorite games, easily my favorite racing game, I still think it's leagues better than any version of Mario Kart and it's honestly crazy to me that Nintendo still has yet to implement an adventure mode in Mario Kart. The hype I had when this game was coming out was unmatched by pretty much any game of the era. I replay this game every few years in its entirety and it simply never gets old.

I've never met anyone claiming Sonic CD is better than any other Sonic game of the period. It's by far the least liked of the classic ones.

Maybe now that's the general consensus but in the 90s and early 00s that's all I heard is how great it was.

  13. I think, most overrated 2D Sonic game. I remember reading for years how so many people think this is the absolute best game in the series. I never owned a Sega CD so I didn't get to play it til many many years later, only within the last 10 years. And I was excited to play it... only to be really let down. I honestly don't enjoy it. The time warp mechanic is a cool idea but doesn't add anything except annoying complexity. Music is also a step down from sonic 1-3 and S&K. I don't hate it I just think it's unmemorable especially compared to other 2D Sonics. 5/10
