Aren’t you mad you missed out on the Star Keeper NFT frenzy?
I still got the only NFT. Makes no difference. Yes, Star Keeper is on Steam. Probably the best way to play it since it is a difficult and fun game.

I've only played it for a short period of time but it seems great!
Same here. My first task while playing the PC version was to get the X-mas Easter egg on the first level. That was so cool

@zxdplayHope things work out soon with Steam. I'll gladly buy the PC version and have another go at Star Keeper with the bonus level and easter eggs you've included with this release.
-
@zxdplayAny plans when you'll have it on Steam ?

I can text Riggs. What's going on?
Yes, contact him if you can. I'm sure he will be thrilled with the idea of ' Star Keeper' finally getting a release for PC. Just forward him to this thread.

I paid 9.99 for dead cells when retail was 19.99 for digital.
Star keeper is not a bad game, there just isnt enough content to justify that pricepoint. Straight up.
I think anywhere from $5 to $10 is legit price point. but I'll pay whatever 87Arts wants to charge for the game on steam.

Added two cents agreed on John Riggs, met this guy at the arcade expo this year, and he genuinely cares and enjoys stuff like these projects. He actively has featured this game before, and so many others and helps to promote them. It would be a benefit to do this and given the likely double dip into the sequel going on NES would be an even larger motivation to him as well to care even more.
Agreed, having him know the potential to raise funds for a 'Star Keeper 2' by selling Star Keeper on PC would definitely peak his interest, including a physical release of the 2nd game.
He could not only promote it, he knows who to reach out to for physical releases if the development of Star Keeper 2 comes to fruition.
-
I agree that John Riggs should know about this. He has made a youtube video or 2 about this game and I believe he would not mind promoting this PC release with another youtube video. Great idea @Jeevan
If anyone wants to let John Riggs know (and other YT homebrew content creators), that will be a good way to spread the word about 'Star Keepers' PC release.

That's why people are saying price it lower. $30 and you just get us nuts buying it. And we're pretty small.
Price it at $10, you'll get a whole lot more people around the world considering it.
$5, you're in impulse buy territory.
Absolutely agree with this and also agree we are a small group of nuts

Ain’t nothing but a bunch of cheap old men in these parts complaining they can’t get Super Mario Bros 3 for any less than $20 anymore lol
Congrats on the release and hopefully project NFT is full on dead lol @zxdplay
Theres no doubt the NFT project is full on dead brother

I also agree with @Dr. Morbis. Pricing the game less than $20 will help significantly. And if you could do less than $15, that would be great. For us interested in the homebrew scene, it's not a hard sell for us. All of us in this thread know what 'Star Keeper' is and some of us just want to play it because some do not have the NES cartridges it was released on.
As for other gamers who do not know of 'Star Keeper', it's gonna be hard to sell them a 8-bit game for $29 on steam. The lower your price, the more likely it will sell on Steam.
It may take time but if "Star Keeper' is priced appropriately on Steam, it won't take too long to achieve 1000 sales.

@zxdplay the music for the bonus level is really cool, I totally dig it. You make good chip tune music along with your programming talent.

Despite the fact that I already own the NES cartridge, I will be buying a copy of the Steam version once it's available, to support you and development of future games.
Same here. Couldn't agree more!

Thats badazz
So glad to know its available
Will this be only downloadable copy or a physical copy is available ?
Steam will have 'Star Keeper' for PC. IF the PC version sells (preferably 1000) , The developer will initiate development of 'Star Keeper 2' and that will have a supposed NES physical release.
Star Keeper on PC must sell first prior to any consideration of 'Star Keeper 2'

Let's just enjoy the fact the game is finally going to be on PC soon and hopefully a sequel is the future
A sequel would be a fantastic way get on board with companies like Broke Studio, Mega Cat and LRG.

You're welcome!
I'm not going to badger you, like I said before it is 100% your choice. I will say though that a simple Kickstarter campaign would definitely perform well. I can almost guarantee that it would exceed your expectations. You would have absolutely no problem raising the funds for SK 2. Since it's a popular funding platform you would also be exposing a ton of new people to Star Keeper furthering the popularity of your IP.
I know you said it's a lot of work for you now but I personally think it's worth it. In the video game community you will be immortalized through Star Keeper. You're already somewhat of a living legend.
Again I wish you luck, prosperity, and am looking forward to the sequel.
Kickstarter would be great but I don't think he can do it based on him residing in China. He would have to facilitate the campaign with a known group here in the United States or elsewhere.

Regarding NFTs, in fact, I have already abandoned the NFT licensing plan.
What will you do with the other 9 NFTs you have made?

Any thoughts as to where the price of this will peak? Should we consider getting them slabbed?
I think having a copy graded after the PC version is released might make sense if you wanted to encapsulate a copy and still have the means to play it on PC.
But what is the estimated cost to grade something like this? I'd probably grade mine with VGA.
