  1. I couldn’t find the right section to post this but I am looking for a web designer to consult on a new video game/collectible project I’m working on.

Most of the site will be basic design, only a few pages. Will need an e-commerce platform only for clients to make one-time payments for their deposit/final invoice. (No product sales or subscription or anything like that).

I just want it to look clean and professional.

I can just pay for the consultation if it’s something I can do myself or may hire to just do the project. I have some experience with Wordpress, woocommerce and PayPal payments.

Please send a message with some links to sites you’ve created and I’ll tell you all about the project vision.

    Thanks!

  2. If you’re trying to deal with a bunch of “is this still available?” messages from people who will never respond again - FB marketplace is great.

Honestly it all depends on what kind of money you’re trying to get, how fast you want it, and how much time you’re willing to commit.

Your good stuff will sell fast anywhere and your junk will sit forever unless you sell it super cheap.

  4. Wanted:

The last few NES CIBs that I need! I really want to knock these out soon so I can focus on other stuff.

I can buy or trade, have plenty of cool stuff I can trade.

I prefer them a little beat up and don’t care about print runs, not really into paying premiums for condition or print run.

    Excitebike
    Ghostbusters
    Jordan vs Bird
    Kid Icarus
    Pro Wrestling
    Super Mario Bros

I feel your pain, grinding out the last of the N64 games I needed was not fun. They were titles I would have never found locally even with two retro game stores nearby. I had some fun buying some games for other systems that weren’t really expensive to give myself a break here and there

Yeah man I hear you, nothing will ever be perfect but it just gets annoying to only be able to buy stuff on eBay. Not to mention that it’s also much less fun when I’m competing with regular sealed guys, celebrities, and wealthy investors haha

  6. I’ve basically been focusing on sealed games but I gotta be honest, it’s becoming less fun every day.

I’m chasing a sealed Madden set and that’s losing its luster because my only outlet is eBay. Also been on a long journey to get all of my childhood favorites sealed. The issue there is that the only ones left on my list (in good condition) would cost me as much as a new house.

So I need something new to keep me going. I’m very interested in the challenge of a cart-only NES set or cart-only Genesis set. Those are the only consoles for which I have a strong nostalgia.

My question is: what would be a fun way to challenge myself to obtain this set? It could easily be bought within 60-90 days with enough money but I want a challenge and an experience.

    Some ideas I’ve considered:

“No ebay rule” - basically can buy anywhere but eBay

Start with X dollars and buy/sell/trade my way to the full set

    Trade only

    Local only

Anyone else have any good ideas???

  7. Have the following items available for trade (in the pictures).

All are factory sealed and range from mint to trashed. (Mega Man and Venice Beach are gone)

    Here’s my wanted list:

I’m also in the market for 2 USB Bluetooth adapters for PS4 controllers (want to use them with my Pi), as well as a black Sega Sports Dreamcast Controller.

I’m in Pittsburgh and only want to trade within the US. I’m well-vouched for many years. If I don’t know you and you’re not well-vouched, we can PayPal each other the “value” of the trade so we are both safe.

I ship quickly and ship safely, and I’m also pretty lenient on values when we are trading.

  8. Hi everyone -

Here's a list of what I'm looking for. I'm a serious buyer/trader and I have PayPal ready to spend and/or inventory to trade.

    WANTED LIST:

    Consoles:

Neo Geo AES USA system or JP system with fairly recent unibios
    Neo Geo consolized MVS system

    NES:

    - SEALED NOTE: I'm not too picky about condition on sealed titles as long as it's reflected in the price. I don't want major crushing or major wrap issues.
    - CIB NOTE: On the other hand, I am picky about box condition on CIB. I want it to be pretty crisp with no major issues to the box. Cart/manual condition isn't terribly important.

  9. I have an opportunity to buy some early print black box games but I need some help from the experts:

    1. Is there any way to discern between first/second/third print on a CIB aside from the “void” mark on a peeled sticker? Seems like all of them are exactly the same otherwise.

    2. Are there any safe ways to remove marker from an NES box? Two of them have some marker on the artwork.

    3. Is it even worth getting a first/second print graded if the box art has a tear from the sticker deal being peeled off? Two of them are definitely first print based on the remnants left on the matte sticker seal on top but the front of the box has damaged artwork from the sticker seal being torn off.

    Thanks in advance!

There’s a clear tendency for many years that all things early Nintendo were must haves for any sealed collectors.

That also clearly has shifted into a new hobby of key title collecting where collectors want first prints of AAA titles that they can market as rare.

Im sure there are thousands of sealed Halo’s out there, but people are bananas for NFR editions of it right now...I’m sure there are hundreds (if not a thousand+) of sealed SMB3 right now but even the right Bros is a hot commodity.

Yeah it’s crazy how that has shifted over the years. A few years ago it was purely individual title rarity and condition. There were very few people interested in variants - those people are definitely profiting right now.

  11. The beauty of this hobby is you can collect whatever the hell you want.

For example, I collect the following:

    - CIBs of games I had/played as a kid from any platform

    - sealed copies of my absolute favorites

    - every Madden game ever made

    - any game/console with a Hills price sticker

None of those make any sense at all together but it’s what I care about.
