I bought a Dyson V8 and never looked back. I need something light because of my back issues. This thing is light, lasts long on a charge, easy to maneuver, and destroys 3 cats worth of cat hair. The only flaw is i have to empty it almost every time i use it to vacuum the house. But they do make a bigger version.

We have one of the updated version of this and they are great.  No regrets so far.

I tuned out after the Wii.  I'm not sure I even knew the Wii U existed for awhile there.

My wife is a Nintendo fangirl and didn't realize the Wii U existed until randomly seeing one at Gamestop.  Nintendo did a poor job informing the consumer about the console.

Thankfully we didn't have the same problem with the Switch.  It was hard to not know about the current console.

  3. I played through a good chunk of this years ago.  I remember reaching a desert and maybe getting a bit further.  Something about the experience wasnt memorable and I didn't bother finishing it.  Once I got passed the strangeness of the game I didn't feel like there was much special about it.  Japanese games have so much odd stuff that fighting a record hasn't stuck with me.  5/10.

My disinterest in Earthbound is probably why I don't care about undertale either.

I haven't bothered with the game since I was a teen. Perhaps I should sit down with it once more and see what I think. Until then my vote stands.

Ah good. Been waiting for this announcement for a while. Could Star Fox Zero be coming to Switch as well in the future?

The only reasons I can think of that anyone would want a Wii U are collectors who need to have every Nintendo system, or the few people who don't have the original Wii and want to make use of the Wii U's backwards compatibility.

Back compatability or if you already own the games and don't want to double dip are the only reasons.

I would love to knock out my Wii U backlog and sell it off. I already have BOTW, DKTF, and Mario Kart 8 deluxe. Give me Zeldas and 3d World so I can sell this stuff off.  Just need to spend a year convincing my wife.

WiiU viable, only if you're a die hard Nintendo fanboy/girl who has to own everything they've put on the market with video gaming.  Terrible system with some excellent games that got saddled and potential ruined by its failure in design, execution and sales.  Fantastic seeing this one make it out finally, and I figured they would and were just biding their time for an opening.

zeppelein, hardly they're padding the switch first party stuff with great games with ruined sales on a bomb piece of crap so that's a pretty unfair statement.  Arguing it's irrelevent makes no sense given it stands well on its own unique titles by now, and the added pad most people never experienced because the WiiU was awful and given up on by many, most before it even arrived given those sales.  For most people who own the Switch, they're brand new games entirely.

Now if they'd just find a way to fix Starfox and stuff that out.  So glad to see Pikmin 3 finally get a fair chance to succeed where the system it was on failed it.  By the time it arrived people had already been selling their hardware and moving on.  WiiU at this rate is worthless as a gaming system unless you hack it.

I hear you about the current gen releases. Nintendo has done a great job with new releases this generation. It's some of my favorite stuff.  Just saying it's too easy to discount a good system.  The Wii U won't be the Dreamcast though.  All the good stuff is leaving the console.

I agree with all of this, but I'm ok with letting go of the Wii U. I just sold my WW edition console a couple weeks ago because if I can still play the games (on the Switch) I'd rather have one less system, HDD, and giant controller to take up space and 2 electric outlets freed up. One less system to worry about my kids jamming a disc into wrong.

But yeah, Nintendo has been lazy and I hope they don't get too comfortable. They've dredged the Wii U well at this point and are going to have to actually make some new games.

I would gladly move to the switch if there was an upgrade program for prior owners.  Didn't Nintendo offer a discount for people to move their Wii eShop titles to Wii U?  Something like that and I would dump these games.  I would gladly give them $20 or so to move my game to the next console, but $60 is a tough sell.

For those who skipped on Wii U these are great releases.  I will likely get the ports cheap one day and pass the Wii U to friends who want the Nintendo back catalog.

  7. I modded mine recently and put all my games on a hard drive.  Currently I am playing through Wind Waker and remembering how great this system really is.  The games still look good and the second screen is perfect for inventories/maps.  It is still very collectible as most of the games are cheaper than Switch and only lack some tacked on DLC. I've owned a few switch ports and sold most to recoup the money.  Let's not forget the Wii mode.

I hear the argument that the Wii U is irrelevant but the same argument could be made that first party Switch output is lazy due to tons of ports.

  8. 8.  I started out hating the game as the controls where not what I expected.  Once I adjusted I really liked what was there.  The setting, music, and levels are all great.  It's a very unique experience.  I'm not sure if I will return to it but I would like to.

Took this chance to pick up the hardcover guide book

The book is cool.  I have a copy that we loaned to a friend who likes the game.  I don't think I'm getting it back. Might be a good time to buy the updated version.

We also have the coloring book and cross stitch patterns.

You just described me as well. I'd much prefer a console experience than ever trying to hook a pc up to my projector. I play mostly third party games, and aside from the Spiderman game, I don't see much draw to PS5 exclusives. I'd much prefer to have stronger hardware to run games on than Sony exclusives.

I like how easy Xbox is to use as a media center too. I have all the steaming apps for shows and music pinned to the home menu. It just makes it easy for me to game, then switch to tv to watch with the wife and then switch back when she goes to bed.

Oh and game pass. You get every major release for a small monthly fee. It's insane that you'll get all the games shown at the event for $15 a month. Its a process to start and stop it but it's soo worth it.

    People sleep on game pass.

As someone who does have a PC occupying an HDMI port on their computer I can confidently say it is often annoying.  Sure I can play games at specs well about consoles but that also comes with the time spent dialing in settings.

I was recently going to start Final Fantasy XV. It ran well but after a few minutes my FPS tanked.  Then came the 45 minutes of dialing in settings. Yes I could have just gone to a lower preset but after dropping as much as I have onthe system I'm going to lower a setting at a time to ensure the best experience possible.  If I just played it on my One X it would have worked right away.

Also, the pins are perfect for a media setup. I tried PS4s TV app for all of a minute. Once I saw I had apps stuck to my bar as ads I moved on.

I can't unquote you Link, but we have seen heart and lungs damage in patients of all ages, twenties to senior citizens.  Just remember this isn't a big deal though everyone, you just have some potential life-threatening /shortening consequences from a virus with a low death rate 😂

Glad to know we don't have to worry..😉

They always have the better not-counting-first party-Nintendo stuff exclusives.  Nothing really special about the 360/X-One at all from my vantage point...even their achievement system, even if it did come first is super lame (no G/S/B anything, just points/leveling up which PS also offers).

I'm still quite open to getting an original Xbox though if I can get a really nice condition one that really is an ultimate retro arcade/mame machine kind of thing.

When did the very FIRST PS5 game trailer/demo come out?  I could've sworn I remember seeing the very first clip of what the PS3 can do...it'd be kinda nice for historical purposes to know exactly when we saw the first look at graphics from each of the PS systems.

I don't hold the PlayStation exclusives in as high regard as many people.  They typically go for a cinematic experience that starts to seem the same after a while. Never got how Xbox gets bashed for too many FPS game when PlayStation clearly has a formula to their titles.  Preferences I suppose make that difference.  Xbox has some interesting exclusives coming up. I'm looking forward to Stalker 2 as well as whatever that new Rare game ends up being.  Fable got announced and that's a series I've been wanting to try.  PlayStation is showing more up front and I hope Xbox continues to bring more new stuff to be on par.

I will always prefer achievement points over trophies. Never understood the point of b/s/g. Just give me an achievement for the game and tell me the rarity of it. Steam is similar in there handling of achievements.

I’m sure I’ll end up having both at some point but I’ll likely have the Xbox at launch simply for Halo. I agree that PlayStation has better exclusives, but for me at launch it’ll be about Halo. I’ll see about the PlayStation 5 when an exclusive comes out that I really want to play.

I agree PlayStation has the better exclusives.  It does seem like Xbox will be much stronger with their studios next gen though.  I too will probably lean Xbox simply because of gamepass.  Until Horizon Zero Dawn 2 comes out I have no reason to leave the PS4.

I think for the average person, the GCHD Mk II and Insurrection cables are fine. They are not exactly the same as OEM ones but are far from bad from what I've seen.

    https://www.retrorgb.com/carby-component-cables.html

RetroRGB seems to like those cables.  I would bet firmware has been updated to improve the experience since that article too. Seems like a good option all around.

These GC cables could be a cool collectors item for the right person.  Good luck with the sale.

"coming to gamepass"?  Boy I guess I'm really out it as far as modern gaming goes...

Xbox has a game subscription service similar to Netflix. On console it is $4.99 a month and $14.99 for Xbox, PC, and Xbox live.  All their first party games launch on it plus tons of other stuff is on there.  It's cheap enough to make buying a lot of games feel pointless when they may only get played once.

  16. I'm looking forward to this release.  Even these games look a lot better on other consoles.  Switch is a first party console to me so ports to other systems are appreciated.

For Xbox owners, I saw this was coming to gamepass.  $15 is a great price for one playthrough of this.  Gamepass really is a great value. It's how I will likely play it.
