  1. Yeah, I've thought the same thing, I may replace the font in the future for it's final release but I have bigger fish to fry with other issues. If I have the time I'll see about switching it over. I think the main issue is that it isn't double spaced. So with the text all squished together like that it makes it more difficult to read. Unfortunately I don't have a way around that at the moment. I wanted it to be scrolling text, that way I could space it out and it would be less of a strain on the eyes. Haven't figure out how to do that just yet. It's definitely a work in progress and they aren't necessarily expecting complete games for the competition.

Thanks for catching that error. I'll have to read through it again to make sure everything is spelt correctly.

::Update:: I fixed any typos and cut down on some of the text. Still haven't figured out how to go about making scrolling text. I figure I will sooner or later. Anyhow, thanks again for the constructive criticism!

Is there a reason you're ok with multiple $200 games but not, say, a single $800 game?

Would you buy 4 $200 games you don't like? Would you not buy a $800 game you do like?

...with my way of thinking, I want to collect as many NES games as I reasonably can. So, I can get more games at 100-200$ a pop then I can with getting a single 800$ game.  Just makes more sense to me. I've kind of accepted at this point that there are several games I will never add to my collection.. An that's okay.

  3. Greetings folks! I just wanted to let everyone know that I am working on a new project called Spirit Impel for the NES. Currently I am in the process of making the demo for the ByteOff 2020 compatition. I am hoping to have it available come this holiday season is all goes well.

For those who don't know me I have produced hacks in the past as MrFaust, such as Lock'n'Chase, Castlevania: Baleful Sonata and Fake News Covefefe. You can find updates on my current and past projects at https://www.facebook.com/PasseGaming1/.

I'd could use some support for my page and would appreciate a like! Thanks!

  4. @Estil, well.. the PSX version was absolute garbage. I'm not sure what happened, but the loading times in that game are horrible. Makes the game unplayable. For whatever reason that port of the game was a huge let down. I take is since that was shortly after the flop Spirits Within they needed money quick and spat that out instead of taking their time like the other ports on Playstation.

I more or less want a modern port because I need to wear headphones when I play games and I can't quite do that with my SNES unfortunately. As for the GBA port (that's actually the port I want on modern consoles), it's great but I don't own a GBA.

  5. @Scrobins, thank you for that. The game looks pretty neat. Though, I am not really one for conventions. Large crowds bother me, so I try to hit any smaller ones in my neck of the words if possible. Unfortunately, it seems the smaller ones never seem to last very long. So, if I'm lucky I manage one a year maybe.

  6. @Fleck586, to be honest, I'm not a fan of modern Nintendo. I haven't bought a Nintendo console since the Gamecube (I did pick up a Wii for my kids but only played Animal Crossing and Mario Kart on it). I just don't like them as a company, hence why I don't buy their products... but, they hold a special place in my heart as they were the world to me in my youth. So it's a weird love/hate kind of deal going on. Simular to how I feel about Disney.

The only reason I would pick up the Switch is because I love Animal Crossing and I really want to play it.. That and Links Awakening, I love the direction they went with that game, looks absolutely stunning.

  7. Ugh, where do I start. Comic Books (Batman (anything pre-New 52)), LJN Wrestling Figures, Old WWF Magazines, Fantasy Miniatures, Warhammer 40k Miniatures, Dungeons & Dragons (rulebooks, modules and campaign guides), Call of Cthulhu (rulebooks, scenarios and props), Vinyl Records, and Emanuel Pins (Disney and whatever else I fancy). It's more or less why I can't complete any one collection, as I have too many. I try to pick up a handful of NES/Gameboy games each year and a couple of everything else if I can. I clearly have a hording problem.

  8. I apologize in advance for reviving a old topic as I missed it... but I absolutely love Pink Floyd. My all time favorite rock band. I have gone to every tour Waters has put on since 2006. Sometimes seeing the same show twice. I don't think I can adequately put into words my love for this band. I enjoy all three era's of Floyd and their solo work. I have managed to collect just about every album on vinyl (original pressings). I am a straight up fanboy. That is all.

  9. @NESfiend, that's a good question. I had heard stories in the past that he was stubborn about playing only his newest stuff and it was one of the reasons why I hadn't seen him earlier. Eventually just said screw it and decide to go to a show a couple years back. I am happy to report it's a solid mix. I'd say 60/40 old/new tunes. An it was just the best from each album as opposed to playing just the newest album and a handful of classics as many other bands like to do. Definitely check em out if you have the chance.

100% Final Fantasy Adventure.  I enjoyed games a lot as a kid, but it was the first I obsessed over.  I hand drew maps, played the game 2x, back to back.  Drew fan art.  Man, I found a game for me.

Final Fantasy Adventure was a solid game. Pretty much all the Final Fantasy games released on the Gameboy, NES and SNES were great games.

I  can't getting into the Sony story driven games.  The last of us held me for only a few hours and Days Gone even less.  People talk about how great Sony's output is but I'm typically underwhelmed.  Horizon Zero Dawn was great but I'm not even sure if that is a Sony studio.

Wow, really? I felt that the Last of Us was a really compelling game.

  12. Final Fantasy III (6) would probably be that game for me. I used to have a tradition of playing it every year, before we had kids. I still get emotional listening to the music of that game. I have to confess I haven't played it in over a decade. I'm still waiting for it's re-release on a modern console as I have to wear headphones when I play games now due to our birds screaming over everything. Here's hoping.
