Finished off Burai Fighter for the first time. 7/10 maybe? Pretty decent! 

Played through Heavy Barrel and Contra Force tonight. I think I’m in the minority that likes both of these games. People would probably like contra force more if it left out the “contra” part of the title. Arc Hound is much too slow to be a contra title but it’s quite enjoyable regardless. 

Greg Norman's Golf Power is finished as well. Not much to say here...meh.

Just played through 18 holes of Jack Nicklaus Golf. Having to wait for the animation of the terrain to load every single shot is very annoying.

I've been enjoying ripping through these shoot em ups. Abadox was a bit of a chore as I lost my power ups pretty early. My first time completing this one. Takes a lot from Life Force/Salamander and that's a good thing! 

Figured I might as well finish off the trilogy. Bubble Bobble Part 2 has been completed.

Speaking of shooters I knocked off Twin Cobra. Not a very good port at all. The Pc Engine version Kyukyoku Tiger is my favorite version.

But Star Force is the hardest of them all!!

I agree, I definitely found Star Soldier to be much more challenging. 16 stages and bizarre enemy patterns makes it a tougher grind. At first glance Starship Hector seems harder but the life bar helps big-time. I think I could finish Hector 80% of the time now whereas it would be 20% or lower for Star Soldier.

Nobody has to worry about Starship Hector anymore! 

Got Happy End in Bubble Bobble. That was a bit of a pain getting the crystal and the secret door in time. Done!

Getting destroyed by Star Force. I had the famicom version of it growing up and I could never beat it. Somehow the USA version is even harder than the original.

Star Soldier has been cleared!

I started some Tecmo NBA, but I had to turn it off in the 4th Quarter with the Blazers (probably the best team in the league) trailing by 30. Obviously, I need to practice and remember how this is played because I've done it a couple of times before.

Hahaha didn’t realize I omitted the title! It’s not surprising it’s gone unbeaten in 3 years, it really is brutal. My main strategy was stocking up on 2-3 1ups in level 3 and 13 by using the triple ball to hit the submarine as many times as possible to eventually get a 1up drop. The turtles keep bringing in new tiles so the level can go on for a looong time if you want it to. 

After my Arkanoid run I knew I had to tackle the other ball and paddle game. Not nearly as insane as Arkanoid but very challenging in itself! I stocked up on a few lives on level 3 with the triple ball and finished it. Working on those pain points! 

Played through Shadow of the Ninja earlier today and just finished off Shatterhand. Both very solid titles. I do love some old school Natsume!

Knocked off a big one tonight guys! Put the time in and was able to overcome Castlequest! It's not a very hard game just takes a bit of dedication to learn the route. I did it so nobody else would have to.

Finished Xevious in the meantime. This game was recommended by my uncle who used to play it in the arcades all the time. I was always pretty lukewarm about it growing up but I definitely appreciate it today. 

Forgot how difficult Starship Hector is. Oww my hands. No continues and no check points? Yikes.

Adventures of Dino Riki is completed. I used to find it too frustrating but I enjoy it now. Although I still can’t decide my favourite speed to use (how many boots to get). 

Just had the run of my life of Arkanoid!! Completed it somehow with 6+ lives to spare. I will never come close to that if I tried for 10 years!

How do you get the good ending in bubble bobble? Does it have to be 2 player? Might try that later tonight after work 

Good information Nerdy! I just finished Rainbow Islands (with all the big diamonds) and am currently back to Arkanoid so I’ll have to check later to see if there was a high score in California games. I think I completed it in 2017 and don’t remember a high score component. But that would make sense. Leave it up to scary I guess! 

I do remember trying to finish nes open before realizing how long it would take to get 1 million. 

If the requirement is just to compete in all events then California games is done. 

I forgot about nes open golf, that is a great game. The precursor to Mario golf?
