  1. @Magus I'm not sure if this is an actual problem or if I'm just crazy, but I've noticed on a couple of games that the average value GVN lists doesn't really make sense based off of the listings it shows as proof.  Madden 2004 for PS2 for instance, shows a average sealed value of 38.36 CDN currently, yet there isn't a single example in the sample pool of any selling for more than about 17.  I saw a similar result on another gamecube game but I can't remember which one.  Unless its getting data from somewhere other than it shows, I don't think that's how averages work.

EDIT: This was in the beta.  Didn't check old site.  Same weirdness with CIB.

EDIT 2: Also top angler still isn't showing any pulled data since April 23rd.

  2. @Magus I was able to log in to the collection tracker and my collection value jumped by like 23k so it looks like values have certainly started updating.  Tried to sort by value from high to low using the value button and got this error.  Not sure if it's been reported yet.  This was using Chrome for browser.  It works fine when sorting from low to high, but then hitting the button again is when the error pops up.

Yea, there are a couple threads. When I posted this it wasn’t on the front page and since there was new activity I thought it would be best to ask those who were discussing issues between the Collection Tracker if they were even able to access it now.

Magus did respond to my post on the other thread and confirm they are working on fixing it as well as updating the Switch database again.

Collection tracker is back up for me.  Give it a shot.

  4. Forgive me if this has been brought up before but I didn't see anything specifically mentioning this issue.  Has anyone else noticed the huge price discrepancies when looking at games in the collection tracker vs. just looking the same game up on the site?  I've noticed a ton of the games are not valued the same, and I was wondering if anyone knows if this is just another example of GVN slowly dying, or if there's a reason, or what?  I have both the site and the tracker set on Canadian funds, but I've tested with both in USD as well and same issue.

I included a few screenshots to show the difference, but it doesn't seem to be across the board.  I looked up Aero Fighters as well, and even though the value is at almost 2200 CAD for a CIB, the difference was only about 8 dollars between the main site and the collection tracker, so not everything is that far apart, but a lot are.

Why is this a. Expensive game? Or is it the box and instructions that are worth a lot?

It's mostly the poster and the registration card that inflates the value.  Pricecharting has been pretty consistent at around 900 CAD for a box, cart, and manual, but finding one with all the extras, especially when I got it, jumped things by a huge amount.  It was prime SNES rarity hype.  2 weeks after I bought one, another went up in the exact same condition for like 1200 CAD less, hence the regret.  I waited 2 years to find one in the condition I wanted, and within a month 2 others popped up after I bought mine, and both were cheaper.  Box and manual are still extremely rare though, on par or even harder to find than aerofighters in my opinion.

  6. I've finished the CIB N64 set, and I can't be sure if it was the very last, but one of the 3 last games was Ready 2 Rumble Boxing round 2.  Ended up having to buy a sealed one cause CIB was impossible for me to find.

I'm also currently 1 game away from finishing the Gamecube set, and that game is is Puyo Pop Fever.  That game just seemingly doesn't exist in Canada.  Plenty of overpriced ebay copies available but I'm trying to be patient.

Pretty sure you got the info card from me.

My dad was an endocrinologist that had a significant amount of his practice devoted to pediatric endocrinology and childhood diabetes.

As a result, we had Captain Novolin and Packy and Marlon as freebies from the Novo Nordisk drug rep.  Kind of surprised we never had the other two.

YES, it was you I bought it off of.  Thanks again for that.  It was after that purchase that I decided to try and get the sealed set.

  8. Finished the least coveted sealed set in the SNES world.  Why would anyone collect these? I don't know, but apparently I did. 4 of the worst SNES games every made, all factory sealed. Captain Novolin includes a unused sleeve as well as a info card given to pediatricians to explain to them what the game was about so they could explain it to their patients.  I purchased the info card from a NintendoAge member many years ago.  Wish I could remember who it was.

  9. Why not celebrate the beginning of a new forum by trying to sell some random stuff I don't have room for anymore.

First things first, I am in Canada, and the prices on my spreadsheet are all in Canadian funds, so don't panic at the high-looking prices.  Secondly, everything is OBO, because I like bundle deals and this stuff is just taking up space.

If I've done anything wrong with this posting, let me know and I'll correct it.

    List with prices is here:

Wait until she finds out where the rest of the wedding gift money went. Nice haul though, my wife would have killed me when she found the hidden stash.

My wife supports the hobby.  At the Portland expo she was the one crossing games off the list as I found them.  Now she's  talking about collecting the Wii set herself.  I think I'm rubbing off on her a bit.

  11. So I got married in July of this year.  My wife has always wanted to go to Disneyland, and we decided to do a 3 week road trip for our honeymoon, driving from Vancouver BC, down to Anaheim, and then a round trip back through Arizona (for the Grand Canyon), then Utah, Idaho, back to Washington, and then home.  It just so happens that the trip lined up perfectly so that we'd be in Portland for the Retro Game Expo there, so a lot of this trip involved hitting every game store I possibly could while making our way to Disneyland and Back, plus the expo.  Here is everything I picked up over the last three weeks.  With all of this, I now have 25 Gamecube titles left to finish the entire NA set.

  12. I'd love to see a location flag of some sort on sales posts to know the country the item is coming from.  Shipping internationally is so expensive a quick way to see a post from my own country right from the main sell or buy section would be handy.

So many nintendoage sales threads became US Only that opening most of the threads was just a waste of time.
