Yup, it's no easy manner to convert nuclear radiation into a power source. This is just ONE reason why you won't see nuclear powered cars/planes. Now a nuclear power train may be a lot more feasible but a train running on electric power makes WAY more sense. No real need to have a train that can run on it's own power for years on end.
