rooster you are so right I forgot about aero fighters. That could join my list as well. My most expensive snes cart! So worth it tho.

Shoot em ups are my favorite genre. I was wondering what are some of your favorite shooters? Here are a couple of mine.

lightening force ( thunder force 4) - this is the first shooter I ever played at about 6 years old and it hooked me.

twin hawk - lesser known gem,  no planes to shoot all tanks and German engineered inventions . Interesting bomb mechanic where you can get assist planes to join you.

gate or thunder- fantastic game on the turbografx cd. Fans of r type or thunder force series will love it.

I would highly suggest the original sega made model. It looks awesome paired with a model 1 genesis ( especially if you have a model 1 sega cd underneath).it also works perfect as well and is well made.

i have no experience with Stone Age gamers model but I say why not get original equipment? If price is the only reason wait until you find a good deal on the oem model.

The original power base converter only works with the model 1 genesis so keep that in mind.

The good news is both of those games are pretty affordable. I wish you luck finding one! I know it seems like a lot of cash but I feel it’s totally worth it. They also sell Neo Geo flash carts which I recommend called the Neo SD.
 

I use to go by Roidsrage420, I was on NA for about 8 years. 

Looking to rebuild my AES collection and get back into the community as I was away for a few years. Sad to hear what happened to nintendo age!

You should try to find a Japanese AES system  they can be had for much less then the American console. 
 

The AES is unbelievable, true arcade experience at home. Plus the games are huge and have 2 boards in  them super cool.

a couple of cheaper games I’d recommend  samurai showdown ( also called samurai spirts in Japan), nam 1975, fatal fury special, and if you like shooters check out alpha mission ii!

Atari Jaguar, I really like the version of wolfenstein the jag got. Especially that the soilders shout ACHTUNG instead of halt or stop. Also the game looks like it runs faster then the pc version. 
 

However i only want like 4 of the games so I can’t justify it.

It was the turbografx/pc engine but I really only  need 2 more games to go. 
 

Now I would say Neo Geo AES, after a long break I’m back to collecting AES games.  

Closest thing I have is hand written level passwords in a few genesis games.
