Well, the link doesn't work. It's just a big "Error 1020" page. Maybe it requires you to be logged in? I don't think it would be hard to include an image in your post.

Either way, it sounds like you at least shouldn't even try to plug in this cartridge until you've already tried cleaning it thoroughly. Don't want the dirt spreading to your console.

Yeah your right but for some reason I can’t ever save a offer up pic maybe the app is set up that way on purpose. Trust me it’s super rough but it works so I’m happy!

  2. sumez- hmm i just checked the link and it worked for me? The problems with it is the label is ripped badly and covered in dirt. The bottom side where the board is exposed looks like tons of dirt and grim sitting in there.

tanooki- yeah man its rough but if it works i think its a good buy... I would much prefer to keep the original board but i will keep it in mind! ill try to add a pic after i clean it up the best i can. i think i can get a lot of the dirt off the label with just rubbing it with a cotton cloth.

  3. I just bought a rough copy of grind stormer cart only that looks like it was buried since 1999 and dug up.

anyone suggest how to clean the label? I’m thinking first just rub it with a t shirt and then maybe a tiny bit of water if needed. Just wondering if anyone has a better idea .

PS I know there is a good chance this game won’t work since it’s a notorious for having tons of non working games but I only paid 13 and some cents shipped so I thought I would take the gamble!

  4. Wow I thought I was the only one with this dilemma.. Thanks guys I will try the one month box trick and also consider putting them away in storage or my garage for awhile. i do have flash carts for genesis and turbografx and think they are wonderful.

the funny thing is the n64 was my second console ever. It definitely has games I like but mainly the ones I would miss are doom 64 and rampage world tour!  I just think I’m more into 2d games as a whole. ( plus I love space ship shoot em ups and the n64 only had one that was just ok) not counting Star Fox of course!

  5. I always go back and forth with my collection. For a long time I’ve been trying to cut my collection to just 4 consoles in order to be minimalistic.

I will sell off my Dreamcast or n64, then 6 months later I’m buying them back again. The high of playing the console  is there for a week or so and then I’m back to wanting to downsize. I think this is because wanting and longing for something is often  better then having it a lot of the time.

I’m wondering if anyone else has multiple personalities ( not literally) when it comes to collecting? Selling then buying then selling... Whats the point of all the effort?

Here are my 7 consoles currently and how I feel about them

    - (No way would I sell section ) snes, genesis, turbografx, and Neo geo...

-(Always on the Chopping block) n64 and Dreamcast... ps I just bought a smoke n64 four days ago  😞

-(Console I have no idea what to do with) my Atari Jaguar I bought myself for Xmas which I’m still really enjoying but i like the concept of just 4 consoles but technically the Neo geo is an arcade machine 😛

How do you feel and what do you recommend? I could really use some advice!

  6. I don’t see the appeal of these machines other then there size.  I’ve owned 6 or so real arcade machines over the years and with patience there where several times  I didn’t have to pay more then the price of a brand new arcade 1 up.

i do think the game selection is good though!

You should expand your thoughts into a blog entry

My review was about double the length of my post at first but cut it in half so people wouldn’t see a wall of text and not read any of it.

I also went into the red screen of death problem a lot of people have, the home brew community, the new old stock boxes/controllers/ high volume of sealed games out there and a few other more Intricate details.

My main point is I couldn’t be happier with the console. Would I want it as my only console? No way but it fits in nicely in a established collection of systems/games.

I think the Jag had potential. It was a case of bad timing. It was released when the Genesis and SNES were still popular and the Playstation was on the horizon. If it had better third party support, I really think it could have been a contender. I believe the problem was that third parties wanted to continue to support the 16-bit consoles and get ready for the next wave (Saturn and PS), so they were spread too thin to give the Jag any serious level of support. It's too bad, but Atari was in a weird spot of being both maybe slightly ahead of their time and too late at the same time (if that makes sense).

That’s a good point about being ahead of their time and too late at the same time ( similar to the Dreamcast I would say)

it’s too bad really, the system has a lot going for it. If Raiden, doom, or wolfenstein 3d are some of your favorites like they are mine you can’t go wrong with this system.

  9. When I was a kid nothing else matched doom or wolfenstein 3d for fast paced fun. The problem was the pc was the only machine worth playing them on in those days.

However one system was powerful enough and it was the Atari Jaguar! This system not only ran the best ports of those two games at the time but wolf 3d is actually better on the jag with more weapons,  better hand/gun sprite, and my favorite part redone German phrases ( I speak German and I love to hear Achtung when they discover you)

As I first received the system with 5 games I was very impressed. The look of the system is fantastic and stylish. The controller is very comfortable and the keypads are neat and useful especially in doom and wolf 3d. ( the only issue with the controller is the d pad isn’t the best especially while playing raiden)

if this system was more popular back in the day and had maybe 200 or so games released , I don’t think it would be on the worst console list that everyone puts it in... If your holding out on the jaguar because of bad stuff you have heard about it, I would say ignore that and give it a shot!

Nothing to hate about that. Doom 2 sealed is nice. Ultimate Doom and Doom 2 have a very special place in my heart.

Yeah I’m right there with you! Doom ii is the first one I played with my father. That’s why it’s so special too me.
