Rad Racer. I added its details to the opening post and also added your additions. Thank you. I think these contributions help those that are looking to make their games 100% complete. A lot of people are visual, so this is useful.

Oh nice. So not every copy came with the tip sheet for the glasses either? Black 3D Glasses Tip Sheet (NES-RC-USA)?

Lol, this seems more like a @Divingninja variant. Kirk, is this a good one I should double check my doubles for?

I'll make a list, but I think I have doubles of Simon's Quest, Gumshoe, and maybe another game or three.

Yeah, that 5 screw Castlevania 1 oval seal should probably hit the list of Konami Ultra Oddities if it isn’t on there already.

Pretty sure no double of it in your doubles box.

That said, looks like I still need your Castlevania 2 5 screw oddity and if you pass this Castlevania 1 5 screw oddity.

I used to believe the Konami/Ultra 5 screws were the NFR or potentially preview type carts etc, but me having both a TMNT oval seal TM and TMNT oval seal R was my biggest clue to side with refurbished theory as it would have spanned over a longer period of time for the same game.

Now technically that said, if refurbished, they very well could have found a box of 5 screw shells way after all these games were released and decided to use them for a specific period of time when people sent in all their various releases of their game that were out in the market at that time. The oval tm TMNT I have is end of ‘89 and oval R is beginning of ‘90

Well, technically no TMNT 5 screws should exist. Konami/Ultra 5 screws aren't contingent on release times since they were probably factory refurbs.

I'm working on that. I'm trying to collect a copy of every print variant of every NES game to document how many runs each game had. I've already identified a few games that are way undervalued for how uncommon they are, I just need more data before I build a mobile application to search them.

Hey Code Monkey, since I am going down the rabbit hole with ya, do you have a lot of duplicate manuals? I have a bunch that maybe we can help each other out by trading if you are attempting to collect them all like me. Or were you just more interested in collecting the data than have one of each item?

Yeah, that's the cool thing: between this project and yours, it pretty much gives us 99% of the picture for NES inserts, at least as far as each individual title goes.  Figuring out exactly how many insert combo variants there are for all the multi-print-run games would really complete the picture, though.

I’ve started the long journey of opening all my games and variants, taking pictures of the boards and attempting to match them up with print runs and building out suspected inserts.

I could finish the list but none of the stuff is “absolutely verified” from factory sealed copies, except for like 20 not published yet, I think I can share those ones.

I’m pretty much ready to share v2 my list too since I’ve began working on v3 about a year ago.

I’m interested in any list ya share. :)

Found a Nintendo service center brochure on eBay and was quickly snipped as I logged into PayPal. Took a screenshot of something I found interesting. Haven’t been able to find the listing since. I’ve asked some people about the service centers repairing games and never really got anything concrete. Surely there’s a collector out there with a repair center binder that details the process.
