I wish there were more games out there that weren't great, only when you compared them to SMB3.

Send it to WATA and have it graded.

It's a great game. I recommend it, especially if you liked Tropical Freeze. 8/10

Are you aware of Parts 1 and 3 of 'The Justice Ray' as well?
Of course, part 2 was just the first one I was exposed to.

Another of my all time favorite tracks. (The audio compression is really noticeable in this one compared to the CD).

usually I only post chip music in these kinds of threads, but I think Eye of the Beholder for the Sega CD deserves a special mention.

Would you believe over at GameFAQs the NES is no longer on their More Systems short list?
That's because GameFAQs is stupid.

When I was young, I always thought the start of the moon theme sounded like the start of Guns N' Roses, "sweet child of mine".

That kind of reminds me of how some people that like shoot-em-ups do not like R-type.
That would be me. Unless it's R-Type Leo. That's the best R-Type game, and ironically, the least R-Type like out of all of them.

9/10 One of the all time great NES games IMO. I loved the cane and pogo mechanics and finding all the cool secrets. As a kid the challenge was just right, not to hard, but still challenging enough to be satisfying.
My favorite trick is telling the statue in the first level no and then leading an enemy into the room and using them pogo up to the vine. I'm sure everyone else knows this one, but it's one I figured out as a kid on my own and I guess I'm still kind of proud of that. It felt good cheating the statue like Uncle Scrooge would have.

Looks like you've got your month laid out for you. Are you planning to beat them or just give them a quick play?
-
Never played it. It just looked dumb to me.

I got on a roll and beat Spelunker NES. I got all the way through the gold stage, and into it's second loop. Bad luck and the super fast ghosts got me there.

Wankera first then have Certified Dick grade your Wankera graded game. That's the only way you'll ever know its true value.

I've seen this a few times with bootleg carts. Are you sure this one is legit?

It's the same guy doing all these remakes. He has his own web page and store.

I think he used to put his stuff on GameJolt, and that's where I got it. It isn't there anymore though.

Maybe I need to clarify a little further. If it's a well known and popular game, then no it probably isn't going to change in value very much if it's proto is dumped. I'm also not talking about appreciation over time. All this stuff has gotten more valuable over the years. If it's a proto of an unreleased game, however, then I will say it's going to be worth more if its rom isn't released.

No evidence whatsoever in that regard in the past 20+ years. Even for rare commercial games that got dumped later this remains wrong.
That's not what I have seen said by Cifaldi and others. I remember this being discussed at length (I think on DP forums) when he got Bioforce Ape. I'm not a collector though, so I'll have to defer to others.

Releasing protos can devalue them, there is no doubt about that. That's why I really appreciate people like Cifaldi who have invested a lot of their own money into protos just to dump and release them. Lots of respect for that guy.

Is Dungeons and Doom Knights worth picking up? I initially passed, but now I'm thinking I may have erred in judgement...
I like it. It's a little on the easy side, but still pretty cool. Definitely a quality homebrew.

Nice work. I've fixed a lot of stuff myself also. One of my favorites was a TG16 that wouldn't work and after opening it up I found that someone had replaced all the electrolytic caps with ceramic disks. Obviously it was attempted by someone who just didn't understand what they were doing. A good youtube channel to check out for this kind of stuff is RetroRepairs. I've learned a lot of cools stuff watching his channel.
