Big fan of the Parodius games on Super Famicom, they're funny, but also well made shooters
I haven't played the SNES version, but Paridius on the NES is definitely up there as one of my favorites. Also 1942 as I used to play a lot on a table top arcade version as a kid.

Hey all, my name is Nate and I just found out about this forum from some retro collector friends local to me! I am not a super hardcore collector, but I do have a nice little one going, mostly focusing on NES at the moment - though anything from the Intellivision->N64 eras are of interest to me.
Thanks!

- Reads first post.
- Wonders why everyone is asking questions about game development.
- Checks OP's user name.
- Bangs head against brick wall repeatedly until some sense is knocked into it.
Welcome @retrogamingdev

Carrying on the thought above, this thread would almost become three concurrent competitions.
1. Can the community beat every title
2. Who can beat each game first
3. Who can beat the most games.

I'm leaning towards a fresh start: no annual reset, just see if we can beat every game, starting from scratch.
Thoughts?
I like this idea. Also, how about everyone has the chance to complete each game? E.g. 5 points for being the first to finish and 1 for everyone else? I’ve never submitted entries before because I’m really slow to play through most games. If players could still submit when they complete a title it might stimulate even more interest.

How is it possible that I have never heard of the MIYA 2000? I want one!

I played the arcade version a lot as a kid which is why I'm more partial to the Genesis version over the NES.
I don’t think I’ve played the Genesis version, but the NES version doesn’t deviate too much from the arcade as far as I can remember. I can imagine the Genny may be slicker though.

The first Double Dragon would definitely feature in my top 10 NES games. Partly because it’s a great game, but also the arcade version holds a lot of nostalgia for me. A local club had the cabinet when I was young and we spent a lot of time playing it.

I've asked for address confirmation from buyers in the past. It causes big problems if their PayPal address is out of date.

I'm jealous of anyone who's partner enjoys gaming too. My wife has zero interest in anything except candy crush. Welcome!
