  1. - I was looking at newly released brand new NES games on ebay, when I stumbled upon this seller Movie Galore Store with a graded Bucky O'Hare and Contra. Curious, I clicked on his store and found more graded NES titles. None are Wata 9 or VGA 90+ but to own a sealed DuckTales or Talespin for example, is a nice addition to anyones collection. This seller even has all the Marvel films on bluray. Strange, if I click on 117 sold, its blank.

With VGA I actually had to watch a YouTube video to figure it out because it was so confusing.

Agreed! Not only confusing but unappealing. The other grading company that I can think of has a similar acrylic slab design to VGA is P1. There website is easy to navigate like Wata. If people are new to the hobby or don't know all the many types of first or third party seams. There is a photo graph on the back that explains it. Its convenient.

    Examples:

    F-zero SNES V seam

    Duke Nukem N64 LRB seam

    Pokémon Blue GB H seam

Conker's Bad Fur Day N64 V Overlap seam

Tales of Destiny 2 PS1 Y fold with Sony security label

Legend of Zelda NES LRTB seam

You should check in with Code Monkey. He's attacking people on the forum and saying that the hair you all found in your cases was your fault, not WATA's. Also the hair that scores of others have found in their cases wasn't WATA's fault, either. Not the hair all over the Lone Ranger (NES) currently on eBay, not the hair all over the otherwise great-looking Thundercade (NES) now on eBay. All you folks are to blame... says Code Monkey.

Odd, isn't it Code Monkey, how WATA has decided to make these folks whole for something that was "their own fault"?

    🙄

I saw what he wrote but it doesn't apply to me. My games are sealed in case packs. It would be impossible and improbable to be mine. Also the hair wouldn't come from my pets either because they have scales, not hair.

That's why for years I've said I wish there was a way to motivate politicians local/federal to handle people who do that like they do to people who scalp tickets to events.  Jail time and fines.  It should not be respected, not be allowed, simple as that.

The pple who gloat and post pics on the KSR page. Must think they live in impunity.

Since Wata is way behind there TAT estimates. I won't be sending anymore games to them until they improve there quality control. Today I found brown HUMAN HAIR in multiple slabs. I couldn't believe it. Like whoever job at Wata is to slab these games needs to wear a fucking hairnet. I do not want there employees hair and my games preserved together forever.

The time it will take to get customer service to respond to my inquiry, send the hair infested slabs back to them, have it removed and sent back to me, will take forever! As a reminder to everyone here, thoroughly check your slabs. You might find a early Christmas present from Wata claus.

Update: The Wata Team is taking care of my issue. I imagine the process will take months since its a free service and there supposedly moving.

  6. In mid October, Target sold its entire stock of Xbox Mini Fridges in seconds. In news article 1, a scalper using a "KSRautomation" bot was able to purchase over 160 pre-orders. I figure if Target don't do something, there public image will be tarnished.

    News article 2

The pple who use KSR bot are mass purchasing anything and everything and some users are gloating about it on the KSR page, including the hard to find PS5 and XSX consoles. All while screwing over consumers who want to legitimately purchase for themselves. Its sad.

bought the speedrun service and just 5 more days remaining for the 45 day so hopefully they will be shipped soon )

Not 45 days, 45 business days and the TAT is estimate, not actual. With Thanksgiving around the corner and Christmas right after; on top of there existing backlog and there moving soon (or in the process). Expect a delay of 2-3 months or more.

Interesting choice to do a slow-roll release like this. How do you all feel about it?

My personal thoughts: Why no seal ratings? That aside, I hope we get the rest of it next year. It would be awesome to actually use the matrix after 2 years of nada.

Ugh I have a bad feeling there going to jack the FedEx shipping price up when they move to Calif. On the other hand, maybe Wata's new master might utilize a cheaper alternative shipping service -> USPS.

They were pretty frosty on my end. I didn't like how Deniz's rep approached me, which was pretty hot (IMO) on the front end. That said, I'm a journalist, so I made additions to my article based on Deniz's representations through his agent. But I did not issue the correction Deniz had demanded, because it would have been journalistically irresponsible.

    How did he/she approach you?

  10. I was referencing to what you mentioned about pple to spend a lot of money and then I inserted this poop game. I don't see the value in it. Apparently this game is rare, 1,000 copies made. So are many games but they don't go for that much.

Edit: Okay, I read the article wrong. Its 84 copies sold.

That's all fair. I appreciate the clarification. I disagree with whomever you consulted with, but it's also possible that I've simply made more of a study of WATA's practices, as I've been doing investigative journalism re: the company for months now.

I do not think WATA has covered itself legally; legally speaking it is skating by for the moment because none of its customers feel sufficiently harmed to stand up for themselves (a lot of which has to do with how much profit these customers are making once they do get their games back).

WATA should be concerned that some day those circumstances will change.

For now, their best bet is to always have the WATA website reflect current wait-times, like those emergency-room billboards many states have that are constantly updated to tell you the wait-times for a given emergency room (I don't know if other states have these, but mine does). WATA is earning enough income to have a webmaster who can update their estimates weekly if not daily. Of course, they also have enough income to have a customer service department that answers its phone, a shipping department that returns submitted games immediately with a full refund and shipping costs once a published turnaround estimate has been exceeded by (say) 2X, and a legal department that can ensure not just the fine print but the point-of-sale page at the WATA website unambiguously says everything it needs to say to people being asked to pony up hundreds of dollars.

And in the meantime, PSA could do more than simply demote Deniz Kahn from "CEO and president" to president, it could fire him outright—along with Mark Haspel—for grossly unethical conduct. Then it could amend all its SEC filings to properly reflect all investors; release the scanning app (that Kahn said would include population report data) it promised all its buyers it would release three years ago (WATA gained hundreds of lucrative customers off its case "matrix" technology, though it had no intention of using that feature as it publicly committed to doing in 2018); never grade another game for an investor (let alone an executive like Mark Haspel); and then hire enough graders and handlers to stop inserting human hair, dog hair, scuffs, fruit flies, and plastic bubbles into products it is charging hundreds of dollars for.

    {Photographs below from a single copy of The Lone Ranger [NES] now up for sale on eBay for $2,000. Quite the display piece!}

I was complaining about this sort of crap last week in another topic. I was trying to give Wata the benefit of the doubt by waiting for there CS response first before voicing my complaint here. After a week, I was like alright screw it. Unlike the photo above, the human hair inside my slabs is towards the bottom and difficult to see. Its shaped like an "S" on its side. I tell myself well maybe I'll forget about it but each time I'm in my gaming room. I know its there. Like Austin Powers in Goldmember, the mole scene.

I feel like ever since Deniz Kahn sold his company. Everything went to shit. Slow TAT, terrible QC checks (if any) and not giving a fuck if Wata claus gives customers a little parting gift. No, I'm not talking about there little Wata logo sticker. Whats next, a used condom?? Like for real, this shit is gross.

Ouch. Who Framed Roger Rabbit Wata 9.8 A+ value plummeted. Kudos to the winner. The winner of SMB2 Wata 9.2 A+ is trying to double his money on ebay. Didn't realize a quick turnaround from Heritage to ebay was possible on a high five figure game.

Looking over my notes, a previous 1st print SMB2 9.2 A+ sold on ebay last August for $5,012. Then this seller purchased his copy for $43,000 from Heritage. Not bad on a 1 year return investment. Browsing some more, a 1st print SMB2 9.4 A+ sold on CC in August for $90,000. Ay caramba!
