  1. This day a milestone for my favorite times I played Zelda 3 right when it came out and was hooked. Today on April 13th 2022 is the thirty year anniversary of game for North America released April 13th 1992 in my region. Who else is from the period of time that bestowed greatness of this title at the time. I cannot remember a more fun experience of an adventure to disembark on like this back then. Because I am such a fan it would be awesome if some Nintendo head seen my post here and left a comment, but what are the chances, who knows. I created this picture I am attaching for my love of the game a book I scored at a local store Video Game Trader in Calgary Alberta Canada where I am from. The book is not affiliated with Nintendo of America but what the hay. I wanted to create a thread basically for people here to leave comments of what this game means to them, thanks to all if any are left to follow!

The thing about it is that Nintendo was the only publisher that made -CAN regional games.  That's why this is an anomaly to me...it's not a Nintendo-published game.  Was this an early attempt at satisfying Quebec's language laws, or did some store independently do this on their own?  I've never seen anything like this that wasn't Nintendo-published, so I have no clue how common this was.

I think it was done by the Tecmo company they at time had a outlet in California says on box distributed by them!

I have never seen a full box sticker like that on any game.

However! Years ago I saw a listing for a Final Fantasy game that was a US box, but with a Mattel/Canadian sticker on the front bottom right.

I didn't save a picture, but I do have the broken auction link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Nintendo-NES-Lot-Of-14-Games-CIB-Final-Fantasy-Punchout/192419020255

Wayback machine doesn't have it, not sure if there is any way to look at years-old Ebay listings anymore.

Anyways - at least there is more than one US game with a Canadian sticker on it out there.

Theory: Companies wanted to sell NES games in Canada at the same time they were available to the US, but the boxes/manuals for the Canadian market weren't ready. They used US versions and slapped stickers on the boxes to satisfy the French/English Canadian requirements. Once the real boxes were ready they stopped doing this.

So, in my opinion very legit and very uncommon. Probably a nice piece for the Canadian NES historians out there.

I think there was never actually another Canadian box made besides this full box stickered variant for Ninja Gaiden!

I've got a 111in1 in a fc shell, even have the original english mini sheet of paper included that has the game list type printed to it, then a couple screwball smalls with like 4-10(ish) in 1, all FC style.  One modern, that super games 500in1 where like 350+ of are all legit games, the rest are sub-homebrew gutter trash no one should be a victim to.

I got a GBA game 111in1 that is a multi program game unit plays different platforms, Mega Man is the theme of cart. It has all the Mega Man games nearly for NES but 1-5 not 6 and has newer Mega Man's from GBA as well. I paid $40 Canadian in a local Flee Market when I ran into this. It's the coolest little game in my collection. It is something I never seen a multi program game where it plays various platforms all on one cart. Also has the usual Famicom 1 games like Goonies and TwinBee etc.!

Nice, and yeah that hack of SMB2j is pretty slick I'm aware of it.  NTDEC is a taiwanese company that did bootlegs like this, fcgamer would be your go to if you really want some history on this one.  It's a solid cart, not really rare exactly, but definitely not common.  Someone asking $400 isn't making it worth that, it's probably not even worth $100 to be fair, but the value on something like this is more about the personal value and game selection than anything as it's just another in a long line of vintage era bootlegs.  I haven't looked but I wouldn't be surprised if the bootleg games wiki would have a listing about it, or at least NTDEC they surely do.

I also got the 'Powerful 250 In One' game by NTDEC from 1991 it's a 72-Pin not the Famicom version!

  6. I have reached 20,000 views on my YouTube and I actually don't try that hard to obtain them. I call my channel 'Joyomofrobro' like my member name here, it's for video games only. My favorite video is for a NES game I own called 'Super 650 in 1' so I have attached video from my channel. I'm the only one with a video of this multi-cart game and I go into explanation on the video description to fully describe it's contents. The video is special to me for some reason I play a modified game of 'Super Mario Bros. 1' which is actually 2 in Japan. The version of the play file I chose to play on this multi-cart for choice seems to write the future and place the past ahead at times difficult to explain better to watch to see in action, I play level 8-1.  My description for video is quite accurate possibly more in tune from what I explain here made video quite a few years ago I still own game. It is my favorite multi-cart so I also include a picture of it here as well in case someone would like to see the cart. It is by 'Nintendo Entertainment Computer System' they were sued for using Nintendo name 'NTDEC' which some may have heard about. I seen strange ways of playing some games on multi-carts, 'modified games', but this cart is the best of the multi-carts I seen ever, 'Super 650 in 1' for NES. I have the only video on YouTube of this cart. Wanted to share this video and picture to see if anyone has this game specifically. I got by trading a friend a bunch of Sega Genesis games and it was a half hour decision he made, he then said he would like me to have it, in the end we traded and I've had it ever since. I only seen on EBay at one point and never again after I was a owner myself, it was going for $400 US when I seen years ago. It must be rare. Someone brought up that it's from a console called 'Creation' and this video game internal rom within the unit I have it like a cartridge for play, console from another region never heard much of other than it's name. I consider this multi-cart my best trade in life!

Don't ask me I have no idea.  I gave up on PS2 some years ago, last one was probably 3-5 years back a slim and it rarely got touched so I traded it out for something useful. 🙂  PS5 I have no interest in as it has nothing of interest, but so far I find I like Sony's odd numbered systems historically speaking.  I would image if they figured out mod-less burns, then sure that would explain this strange mastering of english into a Japanese game with Japanese(largely) box art.

The good thing about PS2 is they were the full game didn't require updates to better builds PS1 also same!

That's quite good.  I haven't tried hard in years, 10-20 doing something on that level.  Back in the late 90s I had the Sailor Moon manga and started trying to copy the rear of the box color sketches of the artist and got fairly decent at it but now I question my ability to duplicate side by side, so I figured that neat little thing may be of help.

I did this Chrono Trigger drawing in 1997 same here been out of drawing quite awhile!

Nice I like that.  Funny coincidence I decided to buckle and buy this optical drawing board for sketching a few hours ago (along with a 8port HDMI switcher) using a giftcard.  A book like that along with the link below would be excellent to learn by.  I don't have any how to draw books, but I do have over 250 manga books/comics you can see a list of http://tanooki.byethost8.com/manga.html

Outside of the board I was going by a half price yesterday, saw this on an obscure shelf for $5 so I grabbed it: Kana de Manga (hiragana + katakana) which should be a lot of help to remember stuff, and the nice manga images in there should transfer to that optical board well: https://www.amazon.com/Kana-Manga-Japanese-University-Presents/dp/4921205019

I viewed your links, cool. This is my drawing of Marle from Chrono Trigger I upscaled from instruction manual!

My last pick up wasn't even gaming, shares the whole anima/manga look of your I'm guessing asia-english release of ToP there... the full set of Area 88 (UN Squadron) english translated manga in comic format.  Found it local a day ago for less than 1/2 the online rate, been wanting it for decades when I remember it exists every few years (when I see 1-2 issues on some shelf randomly.)

I collect drawing books of Manga's here's my favorite one so far going to utilize the book to draw eventually!

  11. My top selection of a game I found for the year is this. I was surprised to see it was Version English of this for PlayStation. I run into games like this at times but never knew there was a Tales of Phantasia out in this translation on PS. I've been playing awhile and it seems to be better than I could ever imagine. Wanted to share my find of the year that I've selected as. It plays on a console mod and I have one so can play. Going to play this game through it most likely includes character Suzu who is my favorite not found on many versions to my knowledge only GBA with poor graphics. This has been surprising so far the outer world map is 3D like Tales of Destiny and areas are like normal so it seems real interesting to own. Pick of 2021 for finds!

Is that the split controllers fault?  A lot of the games allowed use of the pro style controller so it would feel normal.  Pretty sure it uses it, but I'm too lazy to check the shelf as this day was draining. 😛

I had been playing on my WiiU and the Pro Control for the system never worked with game. I had the WiiU Plus Remote and Nunchuck connected to play. Maybe it needed to be played on a original Wii to work with Pro Control if there was a Wii one I'm unsure. On the bright side I just ordered the North American standard copy of 'Muramasa: Rebirth' sealed new for $160 Canadian after shipping, price was below cost at that. One copy PS Vita from a Canadian seller was lucky can't wait to get. Lucky because the price is at $200 new plus shipping on top not many to choose from used so went with the new!

That's fairly impressive.  It saddens me how much Vita games go for now...I hadn't any idea until someone dumped a collection of like 30 damn GOOD games at the half price up the street.  If they did the system too, it sold fast.  The games seem to range from the low end around 30-40 and the upper get over 100 each but when I looked up what some were they were cream of the crop goodies.  Vita is the one price poison pill for Sony buying if you're into their systems, yet the games are some amazing choices there despite that hit.  I think they had that Odin Sphere too, quite a few of those nice atlus, nis, etc titles as I recall.

I really want to get 'Muramasa: The Demon Blade' I had on Wii and did not like the controls of game on it!

  14. Today I got a PS Vita to expand my system library on something I never owned yet. I visited a local store in my city Video Game Trader in Calgary Alberta Canada. I went on their website last night to speed up Boxing Day and know what I'm after. Got in line and made it in first, person 28 of first 30. Already enjoying my new buy wanted to share my story of day!

That's wicked!  Don't think I've ever seen that one!

I was researching about the Tiger Handheld's and found information that the holy grail of them was this one on a webpage long ago, the key is the talking edition of it. I ended up finding on EBay from a seller in Puerto Rico and paid only $70 Canadian after the purchase went through. I could never find the information I found again to confirm so know little other than that to go on. I could be wrong but the picture I get on Google images is a series of the same one I bought, not my own picture shown here. It has the battery door and takes four AA batteries!

You too Joseph!  Glad to see you still kicking around here!  Also, I'll have to get in touch next time I'm home, cuz I still have that giant load of burned discs I was setting aside for ya, along with that Double Dragon handheld.  Seeing as I've moved cities, I really should get that stuff to you when I'm in town next 😛

Thanks Michael, It was nice to hear from you here as well. I pretty much never considered I'd know someone on here because it left my thoughts and was nice to hear from you to know there is somebody. I can make it by for a visit when your around. Recently I got a Tiger Handheld I never thought I'd get that I was in search of, including a picture for you!
