  1. Finally off work (ready for the weekend!) and got a wider shot. Excuse the dismantled nes in front. That is for playing dev carts with socketed EPROMs sticking out the front.

I wouldn't necessarily call this one ugly, but it's not exactly normal either.  It's someone's homemade Editor/Assembler cart for an Atari 8-bit computer that I got in a lot some years ago.  Surprisingly, it works but is a bit touchy.

That is sick! That's some oldschool prototyping right there. Looks just like that ZX Spectrum prototype someone unearthed relatively recently.

I blame that c64 monitor for making me always want the best monitor possible.

You are exactly right rgb modding requires tapping into the onscreen display.  It's not pvm quality but definitely a decent alternative especially with the price of pvm these days.

Yeah, the phosphor quality is not going to compare and shadow masks will also not really stack up against the look of aperture grills

  4. I LOVE that c64 monitor. I wish I had one for my c64 and c128.

Also modding consumer tubes for RGB seems to be becoming more common these days. It's mostly just a matter of tapping into the on screen display chip's pins for RGB. I was going to do it to my little Hello Kitty tube I keep around.

Nice. I bought my 20” for 50$ i think. Loved it but took up too much space. Ill never let my 13” go though, got it for free from my buddy. Only problem is having to use monitor speakers though, but at least the music is crisp.

I paid too much for that little guy. It was my first PVM. Bought on eBay for like $200+shipping lol.

Hey guys very cool club.  I got my first PVM from a friend and it was a 14".  I was so blown away at the time I immediately started looking for a 20" set.  I got a lead on one and on a rainy December day in 2016 I drove to Austin from Dallas to pickup a 20m2u.  Since then I got into RGB modding consumer CRTs.  I currently have a 20m2u, 20m4u, and a 27" Consumer Sony that is RGB modded.  I tend to prefer playing on my consumer set since I prefer the bigger screen size.

    Sup Dallas homie. 😉
