  1. Small want... but loose Psychonauts manuals never come up for sale on ebay and don't want to deal with buying a CIB copy if I can help it. If anyone has a loose manual floating around let me know.

Hi all, former NA member finally migrating over.

Just wondering if anyone knew the going rate for a cat-R dev kit.  Complete in the box it came in, with (I believe) all the original paperwork?  Last time I checked they were kind of all over the place.  Obviously, ebay isn't helping me out on this one.  I did a quick forum search, but I just found what one person was asking, not necessarily what they sold it for.

Probably my old post. I found the buyer on ebay but we made a private transaction to save on fees. Sold for $650. Didn't have a box. That was almost a year ago though so not sure what it'd go for today.

  3. None have back labels unfortunately. I'm not knowledgeable enough to know which ones originally came with back stickers. Only ones we've found in the wild so far are Banjo Tooie x2 and these, and then I bought a couple Pokemon Stadiums off of NA

Already sold one of the rougher ones on ebay pretty quickly for $135, which was a surprise. Being kind of greedy and will probably list the next one around $150 or $160 since it'll be nicer condition and we've set a benchmark now... Although not sure if I'll have any bites. If you're interested in one at $130 or have any CIB Pokemon games, CIB Mario Party 3, or mid tier PS2 games could also work out a trade.

Wow super nice score! Those have been very uncommon, even rare recent years for some reason.

A fairly large video game chain is headquartered here and 3 of these came from there and the other came from a store about 20 minutes away. Half the store is behind the counter and you can see they're hoarding tons of stuff back there. Our theory is someone grabbed a stack of these by accident and priced them. Feel like we need to keep checking back and see if anything else sneaks up to the floor.

  5. I did some googling yesterday and couldn't really find a conclusive answer. For blu-ray discs are top scratches as big of a deal as older disc types? I picked up a copy of Dawn of the Dragon for PS3 yesterday for a pretty good price, only to find out it's got some pinholes. Of course I can play through the entire game and find out for myself.. But I'm pretty bad about buying a bunch of games and playing them "eventually". I purchased it from a game store and can return it if necessary, but would like to keep them from destroying it since it's a harder to find game.

  6. My bet is it was an auction with a BIN, and someone did BIN. Not sure why it would display 1 price in list and 1 price in listing, but knowing ebay probably just a bug. On web it's showing it sold for $300 in the item listing.

It also shows 'new listing' in list view, which means it was posted and sold within 24 hours, which also makes it feel like a BIN.

  7. PS2 is in my top 2 favorite consoles (Other being Super Nintendo). Recently I played through the first Xenosaga, and I got part way through Cold Fear, but haven't gone back to it in a while. Other than that I've been watching my wife play through Psychonauts.

I've gotten some pretty good steals this past year or so with PS2. I picked up Xenosaga 2 and 3 in a lot of about 100 games for $60 total, and I got Haunting Ground in a lot which came out to $.50 each... I thought it was alright. I'm wanting to get Kuon but can't drop that kind of money right now.

I think my favorites in the collection are my sealed black label Kingdom Hearts and FFX. They were some of my first RPGs and mean a lot to me. I had a graded Futurama but sold it recently.

My main focus right now is on PS2 and PS3. No idea if PS3 will ever get expensive.. But I've already gone ahead and purchased pretty much all the JRPGs and horror games with an average buy in of like $10. Have around 220 unique titles.

You need to also take that up with the store manager (and then perhaps the district manager), that's ridiculous.

You're right, I should have. I'm pretty sure his name tag said he was a manager, or lead, or something, but I don't remember for sure. I don't stop by often but if it happens again I will definitely report it. I think I was just under the assumption "Just Gamestop things" and upper management wouldn't care, but should at least mention it.

  9. Over the weekend I went on a game store run for the first time in a couple months. Found a few good cheap games at Gamestop and took advantage of the B2G2 sale. I always hate their sales pitch, especially when they take forever, and when you say no, you get another long sales pitch on something else, but I put up with it and always wait for them to finish and just say "No thank you". Get through the sales pitch for pro membership.... "No thank you". I get the pitch for disc protection... "No thank you". Finally it's time to pay and my total is like $26, whereas my games total up to $22 after tax (~10% tax rate). Turns out he tried to throw on the disc protection anyways. I wasn't having it and called him out on it. I don't hate Gamestop like a lot of people do, but not a good way to keep customers coming into your store.
