3rdStrongestMole | 448
Is there any way to tell the difference between the original cardboard tray and the remakes out there? I need one, and I want an original, but not if it's gonna cost 300 with 0 differentiating features Link to comment https://www.videogamesage.com/forums/topic/9696-earthbound-tray/ Share on other sites
Tanooki | 5,189
From my understanding, yes and no. I know that you can get one thats 1:1 accurate in every respect, so short of like carbon dating the paper product which is pure dripping sarcasm the answer is no. But there are others that have like dents punched into the tray cardboard like a real one would have that marks it as modern. I've had this explained to me maybe 5-10 years back, I never bothered since I never could get the box for the laughable price it had. 1 Link to comment https://www.videogamesage.com/forums/topic/9696-earthbound-tray/#findComment-253837 Share on other sites

I might just pick up a new one for 30 bucks. I honestly just hate having the cart and guide separated and I don't want them flopping around inside the box Link to comment https://www.videogamesage.com/forums/topic/9696-earthbound-tray/#findComment-253843 Share on other sites
Tanooki | 5,189
Yeah I would, just buy the matching unbranded one if you can find it and forget about it. Better off not getting hosed just to protect your game and guide since you luckily do have the big box. I've got the other 2 big boxes for Mario Paint (without its flimsy tray) and the Super Gameboy. 1 Link to comment https://www.videogamesage.com/forums/topic/9696-earthbound-tray/#findComment-253970 Share on other sites
