He was a professional stage magician who spent a lot of his life debunking mind readers, seers and faith healers (He didn't target stage magicians since they generally don't claim supernatural powers (at least not seriously)) who generally make their money by fleecing people who have been gulled into opening their wallets. He did a great public service in this IMHO. Love the work he did, and he really put his money where his mouth was with his $1m bounty for proof of psychic powers. Saw this news yesterday and was definitely saddened by it. RIP Randi.
